DO NOT TRUST THIS SLEEZE!! John Onstad was welcomed into our home on 5/29/20 to give us an estimate of his overpriced units. We simply wanted a quote which was explained to him several times during the in-home consultation and during the initial phone call to him. He explained how Mitsubishi was offering 0% financing for 5yrs and that he needed to get a social security number to obtain a credit INQUIRY and to see if we qualified for the special financing. When he left, he told us to give him 24hrs for the ESTIMATE. On 5/30/20 he called to give us his estimate of over $19,000. I told him I needed to talk to my wife about it and that we would get back to him if we were interested; we never called him back as the estimate was too high. On 5/31, John fraudulently opened a credit card in my name with a credit line of $15,000. Under my name was his company name, Hubbell Electro-Mechanical and in the corner of the card appeared the Mitsubishi Heating and Cooling logo. When the Synchrony Financial credit card came in the mail several days later, the interest rate was over %25 on top of the annual membership fees associated with the card. I never approved of any such credit card/loan/financing nor did we commit to his proposal. John lied to us by saying he needed a social security number to "simply obtain a credit inquiry". Once we discovered the fraudulent account I had to go through the hassle of freezing my credit reports with all three credit bureaus, file an FTC report, formally complain to the BBB and coming soon file a police report. He hasn't returned our multiple phone calls. If I could give "Zero Stars" I would but the website required at least a one star rating.

Hubbell was recommended to me by a quality contractor when we moved to Santa Fe 10 years ago. We bought an old, complexly renovated home with 3 furnaces - water boilers and forced air - with Entran thrown in to boot. Hubbell has maintained, fixed and replaced equipment over all these years, and it is a comfort to know that when anything goes wrong, it will be fixed quickly and the job will be done right. The guys doing the work - Norm and Buckey - have been at Hubbell forever, are very smart, and have solid, highly seasoned judgement. Evelyn - nerve center scheduler - makes sure that they get to my job when I need them. John - the owner - keeps up with the technology and wants the equipment to work right. I highly recommend Hubbell - they are exceptional people to be relied on and trusted.

We converted from swamp cooler to Mitsubishi Split-Type, 5 units, 2900 sqft. A godsend because, even though we had the best dual units, they were what they were. Being an ex contractor we did our due diligence and did 5 bids, two to convert to conventional refrigerated air. Considering all factors, especially cost and reputation Hubbell was a no-contest, except they were in Santa Fe and we in Abq. True, you never know what to expect with a new sub until it's all over and in support mode. They pass the acid test. I feel safe in saying nobody does it better. Their team has all of the needed expertise and equipment. Some bidders do not have their own electricians, hoisting equipment, and so forth. This has been the hottest, wettest summer we have since our move here on 01. It's also been the most comfortable. One last item: the crew is great at cleaning and touch-up when finished; sort of unusual. jrh

We had some problems with our heating system. Hubbell came repaired our boiler and gave sound advice as to further solve the problem. They installed, very professionally, two new baseboard heaters and solved the problem. We were very satisfied with their knowledge and performance.

I'd collected multiple bids for the install of 5 AC split units and even though Hubbell's bid was a bit more than the others, John's competence and follow up made me more that happy to pay a little more - and it was 100% worth it. Zak and his install crew were top notch. I couldn't be happier with the job they did.

I'm a new homeowner in Santa Fe and I recently called this company to work on a faulty zone valve, because the previous owner had used them to install the boiler system. The office person took my call, said they were busy with new construction, but she would call me back to schedule. After no call back, I called back about 24 hours later and left a message asking them to please call. No call back, ever. I just don't understand people not having the common courtesy to call you back, even if its to tell you they can't help you. I had a cold house and a sick wife - it just seems cruel to keep someone in that situation on the hook and waste their time. I'm happy if their business is doing well with new construction, but that doesn't excuse being minimally decent to people. An email to the owner was similarly not responded to, thus the review. It seems the techs are good, the front office is the problem.

We have had two older split units for about 5 years. The newer ones from Hubbell are light years ahead in quietness and responsiveness. A complicated installation was made simple by Hubbell's staff with no inconvenience for us. Even our dog liked the crew!

I had four Mitsubishi splits installed summer of 2015. After a rough start with installation they got things working. Now summer of 2016 they are not cooling and getting service is difficult. Everyone is nice enough , but the message of "I don't know when we will get to you" is not comforting.
