Hubbell Electro-Mechanical

We decided a ductless split system fitted our needs the best, and the contractor redoing our kitchen suggested Hubbell. We got an estimate for several alternative installations quickly. Th Hubbell crew came to install when promised and the did a great job. They were efficient, cleaned up everything well, and explained how to use the new units. Both units (Mitsubishi) work well, and, conveniently for us, the electrician found a way to connect them that avoided having to delay using them for another month, as was feared, until the electric stove 240 circuit was freed-up when the electric stove is replaced by a gas range in the kitchen rebuild.

After18 years living in our adobe constructed home, we decided to explore the idea of air conditioning. The house has one large bedroom, over an underground garage, frame constructed that has always been hot in summers, the rest of the house was pretty good in most summers, but we had to open the house all night to cool it for the day time. So we decided to go for the A/C.
We had done plumbing business with Hubbell, so we called John for a quote. John came out and showed us the Mitsubishi system and gave us a good price that we were happy with for the turnkey job. He gave us the installation details, including a start and estimated completion date. Everything went according to plan and completion was timely.

We had a great experience in late 2017 working with John Onstad. Hubbell Mechanical partnered with Go Solar to take our home heating system from propane to solar... our solar panels are now powering our house heat and all electrical needs. The engineering and analysis that went into the system design was stellar. The team that did the work were great and all the piping in our mechanical room is neat and tidy. Every little detail I was concerned about was taken care of. We were told we could reverse the system and have our radiant floors cooled in the summer! What a wonderful bonus that was with this particularly warm summer!

My wife and I could not be more pleased with the Mitsubishi split-type air conditioning system that Hubbell Electro-Mechanical installed in our home. Hubbell owner, John Onstad, worked with us to design a system that has turned out to meet our A/C needs perfectly. John also personally met with our HOA Architectural Committee to get approval for siting the outdoor units. Both the outdoor and indoor units are very quiet and easy to operate. The Hubbell team of installers did a fantastic job. The five technicians were clearly experts on the Mitsubishi units. They placed the indoor units exactly where we wanted them. The team was extremely professional and efficient, finishing the entire job in a very short time. Based on their performance in designing and installing such a complex A/C system and how easy they were to work with, I highly recommend Hubbell for all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing needs.

I just recently had Hubbell install an HVAC system in my house, which is located at 7,300 ft. in altitude. It is working flawlessly and I am most appreciative of how this system keeps my home at an even temperature, without any up and down fluctuations. And, it is silent.
I also want to give a thumbs up to John, who came to my home and discussed thoroughly all aspects of this system and its' installation. He is very easy to work with.
Finally, kudos to the installation crew who were friendly and very professional.

We recently purchased a home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. While we were away for the winter months, the home required replacement of the boiler (part of radiant heating system) and the hot water heater. Our plumber recommended Hubbell Electro-Mechanical. Owner John Onstad worked with us on the phone & via email to select the best system for our needs. It was installed by a professional crew and we are very pleased with the outcome. The new equipment gives us more space in the mechanical closet and a break on our propane bills.

Anticipating the summer months, we decided to have Hubbell install a Mitsubishi heating and air conditioning unit for added comfort & temperature control in the Master bedroom. Again, coordinating with John long distance, his crew installed the appropriate unit, on the right day, and left our home neat and clean. I feel comfortable recommending Hubbell to other Santa Fe homeowners & businesses requiring HVAC machinery & installation.

We suffered through the last four summers without air conditioning here in Santa Fe, and finally decided we would invest in split systems to cool the house. Our neighbors, without exception, had all used Hubbell and could not praise them enough. John came to the house and gave us an estimate and within two weeks his guys were at our house installing our splits. It took three days and we had a lot of men coming and going, yet with all the activity we did not have one bad incident. The guys were on time every day, they were polite and professional, and at the end of the day they cleaned up their messes before going home. The end result is amazing. Last night I slept under the cool, whisper quiet air and I look forward to enjoying summer nights with a cool bedroom. You cannot go wrong choosing this company. From the top down, everyone cares and performs at a very high level.

After getting 4 other quotes from other outfits offering to install a mini split A/C system, I am so glad I chose Hubbell. John Onstad (owner) and his team are excellent. John gave me a very reasonable quote on a Mitsubishi minisplit. I had been told by 2 other outfits that I would need a complete electrical panel upgrade and their quotes were more than double!!! Turns out they were trying to gouge me (despite claiming decades of trustworthy service in Abq and Santa Fe). John said I did not need a panel upgrade but he said "whatever it takes", the price would be what he quoted and nothing more. John's guys; Loren, Cody, and TJ were prompt, respectful, worked quickly and efficiently, the installation was seamless and beautifully done. And the areas were completely cleaned afterward, and they did it all in half a day! I LOVE my new mini split, it is silent, it cleans the air and I have the fan running most of the time on low so that it filters out impurities. The a/c is amazing, so quiet and instant cooling. It's perfect and worth the investment. I am so glad truly trustworthy people like John and his crew are still around and believe in doing good, honest, professional business! THANK YOU JOHN & TEAM!!

John and his team did a great job scoping and installing our mini split system. The quality of their work is a compliment to the quality of the equipment. We love our mini-splits and the flexibility in heating and cooling they provide. Overall a A+ company with A+ people and products.

Our house had five Samsung mini-splits with three outside units, and all the refrigerant lines, condensate drains, and power cables were installed on the outside walls - not a pretty sight. When two of the mini-splits failed, we got bids from four contractors and chose Hubbell. John Onstad came up with a system requiring only one outside unit, and all the refrigerant lines, condensate drains, and power cables are hidden from view - a nice improvement.

The installation by Zak, Loren, Walker, and Esmelin was done in 3-1/2 days, including removal of all the old equipment. What a good crew! Efficient, considerate, neat, and polite. We had the new equipment in time for the abnormally hot June weather and it performed as well as one could hope for. I was initially a bit skeptical of the air cleaning claims by Mitsubishi, but I have to say that the filters do remove a lot of very fine particulates, so that was a big improvement over our old systems as well.

Finally, a thank you to Cindy in the office for resolving a paperwork issue with the extended warranty. By the way, one of the other bidders for our project would have charged several hundred dollars for the extended warranty that John included in his (lower) overall price.
