Thompson's is #1 in my book. During this horrible artic freeze we had last week, our furnace was not working properly. Our house high was 52 degrees. Someone came out so fast and within 10 minutes we had warm air flowing again. He explained what was wrong and what he did to fix it. It has worked without fail! Such great people and great customer service. Thank you for taking care of our furnace and home.

Thompson Plumbing and heating is a great company to have new equipment installed and for trouble shooting problems with your existing heating and a/c. I have been calling on them for repairs and new equipment needs for 14 years. They do good clean installations and have gotten my family out of trouble when the furnace has gone down in the middle of winter.

I called Thompson to locate and fix a leak in our laundry room. The employee couldn't find the leak after looking for about 20 minutes. Charged $100 for nothing. I called another plumber who quickly diagnosed and fixed the leak charging less than Thompson. Don't waste your time or money with them.

I was employed at Thompsons for a short period of time and they are by far the WORST mechanical contractor I've ever worked for. They overcharged their customers and were very pushy about getting jobs done whether they were right or not.. The service techs got a commission for selling new equipment but got chewed out if they didn't sell enough that week. The last straw for me was a new ac install in Monroe for an elderly lady that the service tech told her the ac was bad and when we got the new equipment installed, the blower motor on the furnace was bad, so she still had no ac. Other than the ac being old, there was nothing wrong with it because I ran it before we uninstalled it. When we called into the office to let them know, all they cared about was making sure they got paid which is pathetic. The only reason they have a 5 star review is because Brian Palka, who is Thompsons sales manager or whatever left it.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had them come out to replace a faucet in my basement. When I spoke with one of the girls in the office, I asked how much it would be. She gave me a price that I thought was a bit low, but she said that's what was on my estimate. However, when they actually came to do the work, I wasn't home and my son who was there didn't know how much they had quoted me. They charged $200 MORE than the estimate I was given. When I called their office to complain, the manager said that they would "work with me" and I could take as long as I needed to pay it, but they were not going to charge me any less. By the next month they were already calling me for a payment and had added a finance charge to my bill. I made a payment on the account, then never received a bill again for several months--then I got a bill with several months of finance charges added. I sent them another payment, told them I may receive my bills IF they had my address correct, which they didn't. The last straw was last night WHEN THEY SHOWED UP AT MY DOOR ASKING FOR A PAYMENT! I guess they really needed that measly little $150 I still owed! I didn't tell the jerk that showed up, but I had already paid the balance 3 days prior. I guess this is what they consider "working with you."

Company told us $100 an hour on the phone. Came out to check out waterheater. Looked at the unit for 10 min and told my wife what was wrong. Charged her $65. Called back with a price quote for the part that we knew was high. $150 more than the average retailer. When I questioned why the price was so much higher, the tech was rude and defensive. Tried to tell us that if we didn't use them, he was sending us a bill for $135. When I informed him he already charged us $65 for 10 min and he gave us a receipt and there was no way we were paying him more now; he said we'll send you a bill and hung up on me. We may have used Thompsons still if they'd offered a better price on the part or to install one we got ourselves, but we will never call them again now .

Great service, excellent prices. Had new furnace and AC installed, vents cleaned, new hot water tank. These guys do it all and at a great price. Will always go to Thompson first.
