USE THIS COMPANY! I have the unique experience of having two locations served by this local company. One location had an entirely new system installed from the ground up; pricing was great, staff was fantastic, work was completed quickly. Secondly, was a repair, a repair that other companies wanted to avoid and just make a new system install ($Thousands$) it's nice to have an HVAC company that will be honest and straight with you especially when it's a function of our home that we don't understand. I'm happy to call this company "my hvac company"....for life!

One of the guys pulled a gun out on me and my boyfriend because we asked could he show us what he fixed and he refused. I guess because I only rent and I’m not the property manager he doesn’t feel the need to have to show me what was fixed. Please don’t use this company, RASICT

My experience was terrible and need to take the time to write this review so someone else may avoid what I went thru. First let me say I originally made outreach to this business based on the positive reviews on Google. My first service call to this business went smoothly and in the end was charged $250 for freon. It was a bit high of a cost (I think we only needed a pound of freon), but we wanted someone that day to repair and we have an older unit so were glad that was all it needed. Fast forward a few months later, ac is not properly working again and the unit in the basement has a slow leak. Contact E K Rickett & Sons again and the next day the send a technician he informed us the leak was due to the ac coils freezing over and we need to defrost overnight and don’t turn on the ac. Bad news because it is 96 degrees outside, so it feels like 100+ inside. But technician said he would be back the following day at 10:00am to recharge the ac and we should be good to go. Well, next day...No call no show. I called customer service at 11am to inquire on the status and was made aware that did not know the technician recommended we unfreeze the coils overnight and that now that I was calling their office they are aware someone needs to come back. I remain patient as miscommunication between tech and the office may happen. I was also told they can send another technician as soon as he completes a job in DC. Three hours later 2pm, I call back to check the status and was told they were just about to call me back and he has just two more jobs and he is headed my way. Approximately 30 minutes later technician shows up, no mask, and now we are told we need to replace the entire unit for 3K although the previous technician, from the day before noted the ac simply needed to be recharged after the coils were unfrozen. Long review but an honest one; poor customer service, inconsistent recommendations and in the end nothing was done to resolve the issue. Fortunately, a family friend has referred us to their contractor who recently resolved the same issue we had with the frozen coil. God willing I will have a positive review to submit for them in the near future.

I highly recommend E K Rickett & Sons. I had to replace my old HVAC blower motor after it burned out earlier this year, and soon realized that doing the job myself was going to be more difficult than anticipated. After searching a few companies who either were charging an exorbitant price or who would not use a part they had not provided, I found E K Rickett & Sons, and I could not be more satisfied. The technician was on time, he kept me informed during the entire process; he was prompt, and best of all the charges were very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use this company again, and plan to if/when needed. .
