My review is in regards to the technician that performed the work only. Darryl is very professional and very knowledgeable in his craft. He showed up on time and was very communicative with what needed to get fixed and why. Moving forward I will request to have him as my technician on every plumbing job.
On a Friday, about noon, I discovered our sewer line was clogged. I was able to get an appointment with Michael & Son for late that afternoon. Sherman arrived about 4:30, and by 6:30pm everything was working again, and the bathroom was left in good condition. Very professional, swift, and prompt. I recommend Michael & Son!
I was very disappointed on your service because the information that was given could have been explained about your set-up cost on the phone. Your service person told me you had to set up calls before you even considered installing my wiring for my security light which to me were extremely costly because after you add in your known cost then you were going to charge me for any extra wiring or installation of my unit you had this hidden cost that we could have talked about on the phone so as far as I'm concerned I don't know how I can justify using you anymore and you are just taking a service fee for coming out when you knew and no that people probably would not accept the attic cost that you are putting on them in my view.
Serviceman Sherman was wonderful. Arrived early, wore a mask and booties, was very polite. Got right to work and fixed my problem in minutes! Nice experience with this company
Our service rep was MJ and from the first time he entered our home for the estimate he was nothing but courteous and listened to our thoughts and then provided his comments at the end. He took the time to research a faucet for us and took care of purchasing the one we choose and the installation went very smoothly. We would recommend Michael & Son (especially MJ) for any additional work we would need done around our house.
Nicky is an amazing professional. As a newer homeowner, it is really important t me to learn about home repairs and terminology. Nicky not only allowed me to observe what he was doing, but he also explained each step thoroughly and answered my many questions with patience and kindness.
As for the company as a whole, the receptionist was kind, and it is true that you can call at all hours and have someone pick up. She arranged for someone to come out the next day. In addition to the time range she gave, the company has the workers call when they are on their way in order to narrow down the timeframe for the home owner. Nicky was there within 5 minutes of the beginning of the time frame, allowing us plenty of time to get along with our daily tasks.
Called for a leak in my toilet that seeped to the ceiling of my laundry room. The person answering the phone was very friendly and receptive. Got an appointment the next day. Got notification that the plumber was coming in advance of the appt, which I was really appreciative. Juan was very professional and explained the issues and provided a resolution quickly. He really took the time to explain the problem and also allowed me to ask questions. Amazing service!

I usually do not write reviews for any company and service. But this company, Michael and son, made me to write it because of its devastating service (A/C issues). So, I am taking my time to review this company in detail, step by step. The owner and the new customers should also know about this. This company does not even deserve this 1 star that I am giving.
Service: This is the major part. The technician came in to look my AC system and, he could not figure out the problem in my AC system. So, he tried to sell me a new unit and also their home care service, which I rejected. After that, he pointed out that there is a problem in fan motor. They suggested me to replace fan motor. Then I told them to replace the fan motor if that will resolve the issue. They gave me quote of $845 just for replacing the fan motor which is ridiculously high (In my research; that motor costs no more than $200). In my case; I had an urgency to repair the AC, because my wife was 8months pregnant at that time and temperature was above 80F that week. So, I told them to replace the motor even though the cost seemed high. They ordered the motor and took 10 days to arrive. And after the part was arrived, they gave me an appointment a week after. After a week, they replaced the motor. However, it did not fix the problem. And again; the technician told me that the TXV (a valve) is not working. It needed to be inspected by an TXV expert technician. So, I needed to make another appointment for inspection of TXV. They gave me an appointment a week after. But the technician did not show up on the appointment day. I called in several times, and after few days, they sent a technician. Then the TXV expert inspected the AC system and told me that the TXV valve needs to be replaced. They gave me a quote of $1800 which seemed quite higher (In my research, the parts itself for TXV cost no more than $200). Since I was in urgency, I accepted the repair cost and told them to fix as soon as possible. They ordered the parts and it took about a week to come in. And again, about a week to get an appointment to install the TXV. It has been over a month. Finally, the part arrived and, they sent a technician after a week to install. The technician who came in this time was fortunately experienced and honest, and he fixed the AC in 5 minutes without replacing any parts. My AC was overcharged with the refrigerant and he made it working just by dumping some excess refrigerant from the system. Now, my AC is working fine. It almost cost me about $1800 for nothing. And it also took them more than a month to fix the AC which was a very simple fix. I am surprised how they did not catch that problem in the beginning.
Customer service: Not very cooperative. There was a lady, I forgot her name, was rude. I called in customer service 3 or 4 times to talk to the manager. Every time I called in; she would tell me that manager will give me a call back tomorrow. I was waiting for the manager to call me but he never did. Sometimes, I just got hung up by someone in the customer service when put on hold. And every time, you call in, you have to explain all the details from the beginning.
Appointment time: Even its an emergency; you won’t get appointment right away. You will get an appointment after weeks. And even if you get the appointment; don’t be surprise if they don’t show up. It happened me twice. The technician had a follow up visit, but he never showed up. Even if you call back; they will tell you that they do not have enough technicians and will try to reschedule.
Bottom line: Not professional, Delay service, Overcharge, not cooperative, very disappointing and frustrating service.
I regret so much choosing this company. So, everyone, be AWARE of this company !!!!!!
