Had an AC fail at the end of the summer. The team at HD Service worked with me and the home warranty company to replace the inside coil. While there, the team was able to ascertain a failing furnace and coordinate with the warranty company for a replacement before we got hit with those cold Kansas summers.
Very friendly and knowledgeable service team. Helpful front office team kept me informed and promptly scheduled.
Would turn to them again for my heating and cooling needs.

My furnace was not staying on and heating the house. After giving them the problem I was having they came out and replaced the motor and surface igniter. Also needed a control panel since it was running then kicking off.
I want to thank Hugh, Nick, Ford, Henry, Michael and Owen for their professional and prompt service on my furnace needs. I’m not forgetting Jennifer, their office professional and also their answering service (sorry, I didn’t get her name) who both were courteous and caring in getting my furnace taken care of.

Truly wonderful company and a great asset to Oakland. My AC stopped working in the middle of July. I called Monday morning and even though they were booked with appointments I was told that they would try to fit me in. Not only did they fit me in but they had the problem fixed in less than an hour after arriving at my house. My dogs and I were very grateful! I have used H.D. twice for AC issues and both times the repairs were taken care of quickly and the people were very friendly.

Made a service request for our furnace through American Home Shield & they assigned our service to this company. Within an hour of making the service request, we were called & notified that someone could be out that afternoon. Mike (service tech) came out & was very pleasant & helpful. A part had to be ordered so we were expecting it to be several days before we heard back from them. The very next afternoon they called & said they received the part & he could send Mike out right now if I was available. Mike had the part installed & our furnace up & running smoothly within an hours time! He also took the time to answer all my husbands questions about the unit. We were pleasantly surprised by the speed & quality of service we received with this company! I would HIGHLY recommend them!

LONG POST AHEAD. TLDR Request a different contractor from your warranty service if they set you up with HD
I'm not sure how they stay afloat. When we put in the request with our warranty company, they called one time. Didn't leave a message. I wasn't able to get back with them cause I didn't realize it was them. I tried to contact them via email since my work hours don't work well with their open office hours. Then I got a call a week later when they finally wanted to schedule something after I had contacted my warranty place. They acted like we had spoke before and already scheduled an appointment when we hadn't. Then when I asked what times would work, they seemed shocked that I worked during those times. Finally we were able to schedule something and the technician who came out first told us that we needed more refrigerant, which was fine. He said he'd load it up and then after he was out there for a while he came back in and said that we'd need a new unit. He then told us to expect a call that next week to get it set up. We received a call from our warranty place within a couple of days telling us the cost of things, and it was a little high, and it sounded like they were only replacing parts not the whole unit. Then we waited to see if we were going to get a call from HD to schedule a time for them to do it. Never got one. So my wife called them 2 separate times. Left messages and we never heard anything back. Then we called our warranty place and they contacted HD on our behalf, and we didn't hear anything back from them by the next day so we requested a new contractor. Got the new contractor a day later and they scheduled the service and we were able to have our new AC by the next week.

Poor customer service. They admitted to not knowing much about our A/C system but still continued to work on it. A month later they were blaming parts, technical support and other mysterious factors. They never diagnosed it correctly, removed freon from the system and would not contact us to explain where they were in the repair process. We had to pay another company to put almost $300 in freon back into the system. They had a poor attitude when we explained they should be partiality responsible for it. They kept blaming us the whole time. I'm really not sure how they could stay in business with that kind of business practices. The freon fixed the issue we had.

American Home Shield sent H.D. Service out on a "No Heat" call they sent a tech out same day (same morning, actually). They diagnosed and replaced the needed parts. When one of the parts failed they sent a tech right out to replace it immediately.
Excellent sevice from dispatch to service techs!
