We have an AHS home warranty, and their service provider for HVAC is HD Service Co. After reading reviews I was worried we'd be not only screwed out of our $75 to AHS, but also end up waiting days or possibly weeks to get a service guy out.
Instead, we scheduled the appointment within 4 hours of submitting the claim (I went ahead and called in to HD Service Co, rather than wait on a call-back). They scheduled an appointment for about 36 hours later, and the technician was early and gave us a phone call alerting us to that. He came out and spent about an hour cleaning the outdoor unit and then replacing the condenser motor. AC is working much better (and quieter) now and it was all free, beyond the $75 to AHS.
So if you're reading reviews for this company after submitting a claim thru AHS, it's not all bad!

HD was selected by our home warranty company, they arrived within an hour from placing the request for service on our A/C. The office staff was very friendly, and the technician Nick was able to get it fixed in less than an hour. He was very polite and informative!

I just spoke with a lady named Jennifer. She has to be one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to regarding customer service. She said I was unbelievable and that I should be happy that the service guy even had time to work me in today. She told me I was not allowed to get a call from my servicer to explain why the warranty I’m using on a 25 year old air conditioner won’t replace the unit but instead will replace the compressor and possibly the coil within. Sounds like extra work when the unit should just be replaced. I have been without ac for almost a week already. I will be contacting American Home Shield ASAP.

We love HD services! They are always very responsive to our needs. The owner gets to know his repeat customers and is sensitive to their unique needs! The technician are always kind and knowledgeable! Thank you HD services!!

If I could give zero stars I would. HD was picked by my home warranty service, who will also be receiving no stars from me.
This started when I needed my furnace replaced. I paid my $75 to the warranty company and HD came out, checked the old furnace and said they would bring the new furnace.
HD then came and installed the new furnace that the warranty company bought, when the tech was done he asked if I had cash for him for the install.
See, what HD did was bill the regular installation as a "modification". Because installation is covered and they wouldn't be able to cheat the customer out of extra money that way.
At no point did I EVER agree to any "modifications". And as far as I can tell HD used about $50 worth of sheet metal and standard flue connections from the hardware store and try to charge me $675 for it.
Installation is covered by the home warranty and my guess is HD bid the contract way under so they get it and then pass the pain straight on to the consumer.
I even gave HD the benefit of the doubt repeatedly, and to show their thanks for me being such an understanding person they decide to keep sending me bills in the mail without even so much as a phone call to explain themselves. I just received a bill today for work done in November, when the last conversation I had with them they had agreed to charge the home warranty company for these made up charges!
This review will not be the last they hear from me, they will be hearing from investigators very soon because of these deceptive business practices and their extremely over market value charges for materials.

HD Service was scheduled to come on a Thursday afternoon and called us and said they were able to fit us in on Saturday instead. They explained to us what the problem was with the air conditioner and had it fixed within 45 minutes. Very professional and nice.

Home insurance contracts through these guys for a reason, they are cheap. My AC unit was leaking fluid in the garage so I turned it off and contacted my insurance company. They arranged service with HD... I first spoke to a brief receptionist who clearly hates life, then I spoke to the tech to coordinate the repair since I couldn't get away from work. I asked him to call me after repair; he did not. I came home to find water no longer leaking into garage, but into my house now where it has seeped under my brand new vinyl flooring. He left an illegible yellow receipt on my couch. I called for the next two weekdays and couldn't reach anyone at the main number, or the tech's cell phone. Thanks for coming into my home and making a mess. Love the professional cox email address too, nice touch.

Again I was another victim of "H.D. Services". Home warranty sent them out for the first time last summer. I've had 4 different techs of there's out and one even brought his son with him on the job. My last experience with them was when I was in contact with who I assume was either the boss or owner. Called him around noon Friday to see if they had a day for my resueduled appointment, since they apparently cant service anything during rain. He did not have a date put in for me yet 3 days after the initial visit. He let me know he would attempt to squeeze me in that day around 3 and would get back to me to clear up a date if that didnt work. Well 3:30 rolls around and no call from him. So again, I call. It's raining at the time so he instantly brings that up as a valid reason no one is able to make it out and let's me know he is not currently in office. He tells me that he is about 10 minutes out and will call me when he arrives to discuss further. I let almost an hour go by before calling him back. He acts surprised to hear from me when I call YET again. Tells me his next available is Tuesday @10. I then get off the phone with him and call my home warranty and ask to switch contracts(if you are told from your warranty they will handle your service, i advise you call in immediately at ask for a different contractor). The person on the phone informs me they have to put me on a brief hold to inform HD that I will be using a different contractor for the job. No more than 20 minutes after the new contracter is set I recieved a phone call from none other than HD services! For the first time they are actually calling me! Well it's the boss man again telling me two of his guys can actually make it over tonight. Convient they are so willing to work with me right after I inform my home warranty of there negligence. Take my account as a warning about the service you receive with these clowns. Use someone else.

Our home warranty sent HD Service to come fix our Air Conditioner, 3 technicians have been sent and each one has found a different issue that they have serviced. Have been without consistent AC for a month now.

When other companies said they could come in 2 days, H.D. came the same day! Thanks for the referral from my mother. H.D. came to her home on Christmas and didn't charge a premium for her service! I've found a new company for all our family HVAC needs!
