I bought a $10,000 unit just over 5 years ago. According to the licensed Lennox technician it failed because it couldn't handle the Indiana weather and now, I am forced pay 25% of the system cost again, $2,500, for repairs on what another technician described as a defective TXV joint. IT leaked out 9 pounds of refrigerant because of their defective and poor work.
Lennox doesn't have any idea how long it will take to get the part. Apparently so many units are defective they cannot keep up with the demand they created.
They have refused to make it right and according to their customer service they don't care that the product cannot handle the winters in the locations they sell it. They are more than happy to just keep taking your money.
I hope they figure out how to make this right but based on other reviews it sounds like they don't care about their customer.
