Maxson Heating & Air Conditioning

I was referred to Maxson from the firm (Pivotal Home Solutions) I have used for many years to service my furnaces because they were too busy. One of my two furnaces, Pivotal had serviced 3 weeks previously, wasn't heating properly. Steve, from Maxson showed up just a few hours after I had contacted Pivotal. Steve told me he was the owner of the business. He was professional, kind and most of all--knew what he was doing and explained the issues to me in plain English--in short, the furnace had not been serviced properly as there was debris in the furnace PVC intake pipe as well as the trap--something I have been paying Pivotal for years to do. Steve also identified a crack in the heat exchanger that means the furnace should be replaced fairly soon. In addition, Steve discovered the humidifier on my other furnace was not working--something Pivotal should have tested and advised me of the appropriate repair--unless it failed in the 3 weeks since they serviced it--in my mind, highly unlikely.

I will be likely replacing both of my furnaces and related air conditioners in the Spring and Maxson will be high on my list to perform this job and using Pivotal will be a thing of the past. Pivotal did follow up with me on the above described issue but only offered to reimburse me about 50% of the repair cost I paid Maxson. I promptly said no—I want 100% of my repair cost paid for. Steve had to perform the service all over again and identified important issues that Pivotal should have alerted me to.

On the evening of May 29, the fan motor inside of the furnace squirrel cage started making a lot of noise and stopped running. We shut the unit off immediately. The next morning, we contacted Maxson Heating and Air Conditioning and within an hour Steve was at our home. He removed the cage from the furnace and determined that the fan motor had failed. He urgently purchased a new motor and within a short amount of time had it installed and working perfectly. The outdoor temperature was 88 degrees and the indoor temperature remained cool. Maxson was a great partner when we replaced our entire HVAC system. Steve came out and gave a detailed and very accurate bid, took the time to explain efficiency and other things I had no clue about In such a way that I could easily understand and make a decision I was comfortable with. The bid was honored down to the last dime, even with additional work required during the install due to our house specifics. Dave was great as well. He was polite, professional, and took the time to show us everything installed, demo it all, even after what was probably a 10-11 hour work day for him. I STRONGLY recommend using Maxson for any HVAC needs, be it simple maintenance to an unexpected defect to even a full new install. Everyone who came to our house was professional and they were great to work with. A new HVAC system is a huge purchase that we knew little about before starting, but Steve and Dave made sure we understood and were comfortable with the new system and the choices we made.
