Went for a walk on Sunday Feb. 20th. Beautiful outside, went by their establishment 2 guys pull up in 2 trucks and start yelling that we are on private property and threatened to beat up my 55 year old girlfriend. Super crazy. Very unprofessional. Boo this place

I called Klauer because my furnace had stopped working on one of the coldest days of the year. Steven came out the same day and had me running in short order, and the cost was just $100. At that point I talked to him about replacing the unit we had, and in the end had them install a 96% eff. Rheem 2 stage with an electronically controlled blower. I did my research and found the higher quality furnaces were all competitively priced, and that the price, installed, from Klauer was very reasonable. On the day of installation Steven Klauer and his technician Seth came in and did a terrific job. At my request they even rerouted the exhaust to exit the house further away from our deck at no additional charge to the original quote. The furnace is a huge improvement over our old unit. The motor runs all of the time, mostly at a speed so low it can't be heard in the house at all. This has eliminated cold spots in our home, and kept the temperature totally consistent with what is set on the thermostat, not varying by even one degree that we can tell. If you are looking for great reputable people, I would certainly recommend Klauer.

Klauer is outstanding! Let me tell you why... I was told by another "reputable" furnace company they couldn't fix my furnace, after 2 weeks and 3 trips for parts. They told me I needed to buy a new furnace. I decided to get a second opinion and called Kaluer. Within 20 minutes of arrival their tech figured out the problem, and it cost me less than $200! THANK YOU Klauer! You saved my business from buying a new furnace when it wasn't necessary! I will always call Klauer from now on :)

BEWARE company does not stand by their warranty.
I hired this company to
Install a new hvac system in my hime after a house fire. Not even a year later was having issues with furnace turning on. Klaur sent a repair man to my house and he worked on my furnace all day, only to tel me the issue was not on him and then proceeded to give me a $600 bill. After i refused to pay then i was offered to only pay $200. I refused again because i was still under warranty. My furnace is still technically under warranty but will never call them again. If you are handy with a screw driver you are better off trying to fix the issue yourself. Also watch out for fake reviews im sure any 5 star reviews they have are fake or written by someone who has affiliation to this company.

I should have stopped after the first service call.

My furnace was working intermittently and called Klauer. They were unable to identify the source of the issue and recommended changing my fan speed to prevent overheating. I agreed. My bill was $180.

3 days later, the problem surfaced again. Called Klauer and asked for them to try again. This time the tech was 99% sure it was the smart gas valve. I'm sure he got the confidence from the last diagnostic since unplugging and plugging the smart gas valve at the last visit solved the problem. They charged me another $80 as a diagnostic fee for this second visit (for the problem they couldn't figure out the first time).

The tech quoted me to fix the gas valve at over $600 and suggested just getting a new furnace because mine was 20 years old.

Before getting the quote, I ordered the part for $216 on Amazon (local prices were the same).

I was quoted a little over 1800 for an 80% furnace and was generously(sarcasm) offered my second diagnostic fee towards the price of the furnace ($80), but no refund without the purchase. I passed and said I would take my chances with the new part.

Got the new part and had it installed within 15 minutes. Now my furnace works again after paying Klauer $260 to get to a root cause, and $216 for the part and installing it myself.

Some folks may find this perfectly reasonable, which is why I went into detail, but I would have expected the company to refund the second diagnostic fee ($80) at the fault of their expertise to troubleshoot the root cause efficiently. This is what they do for a living.

I did not have heat until just this week. My son and I were only using space heaters and it was getting cold outside. I called Klauer Heating and they sent someone out right away. Unfortunately, my furnace could not be fixed. When I called to set up an appointment to put in a new furnace, the owner made some calls to change an appointment or two so that I could get my furnace in first because the other people had heat and they offered to wait a day to get their furnace installed. Very friendly and truly caring people, who were very professional came to install my new furnace. I could not be happier. I would definitely recommend them!

I called Klauer, explained what all needed to be done and why. They sent someone out and Klauer explained in great detail the options I had and what type of Cooling and Heating Systems they had...also which have the rebate you can get through MidAmerican. Klauer made a detailed estimate of how much it would all cost in total. They cared very much and treated my home as it was his own home. Took 2 days to install all the units needed, very timely and extremely professional. Both Monday and Tuesday they started early in the morning and were done by afternoon. They also have a electrician that works with them,so you don't have to worry about finding a different company to add additional power to your breaker box. I'm very glad I chose Klauer!!

I have used Klauer several times. Every time they have shown up when promised, very professional and pleasent. They take time to explain what needs to be done and never pressures me to make unnecessary
repairs. Always takes time to answer not only my questions but my inquisitive 13yrs. He explains how the part works and why it is important. Fair and honest with their pricing.

I'd you're lucky enough to get the same repair man, it's like visiting with an old friend.

Bobby was on time professional personable explained everything...gave several options. This was the second company i had out to figure out my ac unit issue. The first walked away with no explanation...bobby figured out the issue within the first 10 mins. Quoted the price retreved the part and had my ac up and running in no time! I highly recommended this company! From 1st contact to finish was a painless experience! Thamo yoi Klauer heating and air! **update** i also asked Bobby for an estimate...he explained that another member of the team did that. The next morning i recieved a call and Steve was at my house the same day! Another professional well spoken gentelman. Also explained everything very well and gave several options. My quote was half the expense that i expected! I cant recommend this company enough!!

I contacted 5 HVAC vendors in the Quad City area one stood out by a long shot! Steve Klauer of Klauer Heating and Air did everything right. He started by asking me what ours needs were. ALL the others TOLD me what they were going to do! He spent two hours going from my attic to the basement and all around the outside of our house to determine the best solution. He took notes and ran calculations just to make sure of the proper sizing…nobody else did that. He called me the next morning to confirm the findings and emailed me the quote. The other vendors, ALL of whom are well known in the Quad Cities, NEVER followed up with their quotes even though it was obvious we were definitely in the market for a new HVAC system! I never once mentioned I was looking for the BEST price or acted like price would be the deciding factor. In fact I made it clear that our last furnace lasted 33 years and if we have to spend a little more that was not a problem. We ended up with a 96% efficient Furnace with a dual speed DC motor and a 16 SEER AC unit. It has been working nonstop for 6 months…not one problem. We could NOT be happier.
The comfort level in our house is 90% better. We thought we would need a humidifier Steve said to wait as you might not need it; he was right! He could have easily sold us a new humidifier and made some extra profit, instead he told us to wait, and he truly did what was best for his customer and ultimately his company. Our recent Mid-American bill proves that with both equipment, and most importantly our installation company, Klauer Heating and Air Conditioning, we made the right choice without a doubt! I would also like to point out that Aaron Klauer and his installation technician did an extremely professional installation and made a slight modification to my ductwork that another company was going to charge over $100 more for. Everything was done start to finish in less than 8 hours. Our recent Mid-American bill also confirms what Steve estimated our energy savings would be. Although we want to be energy efficient that was NOT our #1 concern. Keeping my family safe & warm when it’s -20 below was by far my greatest concern. I believe Steve accomplished both!
The old furnace and air conditioner we replaced was installed in 1982. The old furnace was 125K BTU and the new furnace is 60K BTU. Bigger is NOT better or more comfortable and certainly is NOT more efficient! We couldn’t be more pleased with our decision!
Also, we did this in September not December. Remember, your furnace won’t die in July nor will your AC quit in December so do yourself, family and your contractor a favor, plan ahead and everyone will be happier!
One last thing-the installation and equipment cost were extremely competitive. We also received a very nice rebate from Mid-America which made this project THE most cost effective and comfort enhancing home improvement project to date. We have NO buyer’s remorse.
Sincerely,
Craig Keller
