First hot day of the year, I turned on the A/C, it didn't work. Called Energy Stars for repairs. Being the hottest day of the year, there were a lot of people ahead of me and Energy Stars couldn't make it out to my house until the following day. Next day, Darrell from Energy Stars called me around 8:00 a.m., to tell me he was on his way. When Darrell showed up (on-time), he inspected the furnace electronics and didn't find any fault, so he went outside to look at the outside unit. Darrell found the fault in about 2 minutes. The electrical 'control wire' had been pulled away from the outside unit. (BTW- he had to open a panel on the outside unit to see the problem). He re-attached the wire and fixed my problem. Start to finish, it only took 20 minutes to diagnose and fix my problem. He only charged me the 'diagnostic fee' ($89). I'm quite pleased with Darrell and Energy Stars, not so pleased with the RACCOON who pulled my wire out.

UPDATE: As usual, Darrell exceeded all expectations. We had been scheduled the past two seasons for A/C maintenance and each time it had to be rescheduled (emergency calls for customers with no A/C.) One of the hottest days of the year so far and he had a very full schedule. Looked like our appointment was going to be rescheduled. 5:45pm there's Darrell at our door, with a smile, to keep our appointment. The unit was dirty and we were relieved to have it serviced. Thank you for going above and beyond in taking care of us.
Once again, totally impressed with the professionalism of Darrell and the staff at Energy Stars Heating and Cooling. They were terrific installing our new system last year and performing the annual furnace maintenance. Darrell is extremely knowledgeable and very respectful of our home. He always wears booties over his shoes to protect our floors and is very careful while in our home. Highly recommend this company.

Definitely 5 stars! They were on time, very knowledgeable, and very reasonably priced. It's nice that they offer the option to check your heat/AC at the same time, so you only have to worry about it once a year, and it also saves money.

Energy* employees have been very nice, friendly and they do great work.Today, I had appointment scheduled for maintenance on furnace and water heater.Maintenance Tech Darrell came to my house and did the work today.He did an awesome job! I would recommend their services.

Our furnace stopped working and when I contacted Energy Star they came right out to repair it. The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly. He tried his best to fix it but needed other parts. He called it in and I was called a little later that evening with an estimate of the next day for the follow up.

Darrell was on time, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose and replace the fan motor on my A/C unit quickly, he showed me and explained everything he was doing. He took extra time and care to make sure everything was done perfectly and running at the highest efficiency!! Would absolutely recommend Energy Star for any heating and cooling needs. Decided it was time to pull out and replace the older (2007 era) Trane system that came with this house when I bought it last year. Freon kept leaking out and the leak couldn’t be found, plus it had an old, non-functional electronic air cleaner that I wanted to replace with a standard filter. Energy Stars arrived promptly to give me a price quote and could do the work the following week. As hot as it had been, this was good news vs a couple other places I called who were all booked up for weeks and said the A/C might be back ordered.
I feel like I might have paid a little more than I could have for a comparable system elsewhere if I shopped around enough. But sometimes you just have to pay a little more to be sure the work is done right and done quickly. And this York equipment is certainly better quality than the cheap Goodman units I see a lot of smaller homes around here install on a budget.
The installers were efficient and friendly, and showed up right when the office promised they would. The matched A/C and furnace meant I qualified for several rebates too - which their office took care of filling out, and all but one was subtracted from my total up front bill.
Only complaint I guess I had was with their preferred financing company. I was charged a higher monthly payment than what my salesman calculated it would be - and the interest rate on it was almost 10% despite me having excellent credit. I could have done a lot better just borrowing from my credit union. Will probably just pay them off with a loan with better terms obtained elsewhere.
