price unreasonable for a thermostat

Everything was going well until the repair tech found out that we needed to change the thermostat. Then when the price for thermostat came up, and he quoted me first for $400 dollars JUST FOR THE PART then when I complained, he brought it down to $330, and when I looked up the part, because i understand the pricing of thermostats as Ive bought many before, and just as I thought, it was $35 if I purchased it myself. When I told him, the tech FULLY AGREED WITH ME BUT INSISTED THAT HE COULDNT DO ANYTHING, THATS THE COMPANY PRICE. I asked him to call his supervisor and after much convincing, he did. Finally, the supervisor brought the price down,, BUT STILL EXTREMELT OVERPRICED AT $263.

I understand the need for a price markup, but from 35 dollars to $400+ or even $263 is highly unreasonable. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANU AGAIN. NOW I AM WONDERING HOW OVERPRICED THEY WERE IN ANOTHER SERVICE THEY PROVIDED FOR ME. THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL, DISHONEST AND NOT A COMPANY I'D EVWR RECOMMEND!

I am still waiting on a permit from a July 2019 new AC installation. I was originally told they would schedule it with the city and they would let me know around when the city would stop by so I could make sure to be home. No one let us know, the city passed by and left a note saying they were by and it needed to be rescheduled. I let the A/C Guy office know and they said they would reschedule it and let us know. We’ve called numerous times and it’s been excuse after excuse..Covid, summer time, busy, finally after about a year and a half they had someone come out with new paperwork to sign..as of today nothing. We went to the City of Margate and were told we had to wait for the AC Guy to reschedule it. Went back to AC Guy and the lady who answered the phone is so rude she raises her voice, talks over us, so frustrating we had to hang up. Today someone from the office calls us to see if we would like to purchase a service with them 😂😂wait so now you have time?? because you’re sitting there just making phone calls..so we tell them why would we purchase a service plan when we’re still waiting on a permit you are supposed to do for us almost three years ago..they put us on hold and then hang up on us. We try calling back and the phone has been busy..looks like they kept it off the hook on purpose. Stand up company these guys..they take your money and run..so rude to their customers and are ignoring their service to customers after installation..imagine waiting almost three years after installation for them to just schedule a permit with the City of Margate, Florida Government and instead of just doing it all we’re given is attitude, very rude, talking over us, hanging up on us and it’s pure frustration. Never again and I suggest none of you use their services. They don’t know how to treat their customers with respect or finish their job.

I called to have a new A/C unit installed. Their quote was very fair, we setup a time to do the install and they showed up on time. They worked quickly and efficiently to have the old unit out and new unit in and running in a couple hours. Great service! I highly recommend.

Purchased a new Goodman AC system and had it installed on March 31,2020. On July 1st, my AC was not working. They came out the next day and couldn’t find anything wrong other than some dirt piled up around the condensation drain. A couple of hours later the AC started cooling again. Then 13 days later my AC stopped cooling again. I tried calling but no one answered and there was no option to leave a voicemail. I reached out to the guy that sold me the unit & he tried to tell me that my problem was due to a shared drainage line, however, he would send someone out the next day. When the AC guy tech showed up he found that my indoor air handler was frozen, the new filter I replaced 2 weeks prior was soaked, along with the wood underneath it. He couldn’t do anything until the unit thawed out, so he came back an hour later. He ended up finding a pin hole in the condensing unit. He said someone would be out the next day to replace the part while I was at work, then come back later to check the air handler & top off the freon. I received a text on Friday morning that a service was completed at my residence. At 1pm I called the AC Guy’s office and spoke to Ida to let her know I got off work early so they could send someone out to check the air handler. She told me she’d relay the message. I waited for 5 hours, they were a no call no show. I tried calling the office again on Saturday morning, there was no answer. I called back on the following Monday morning & spoke to Ida again. She said she would get the message to the service guy. Once again a no call no show.
Update: My issue was finally resolved about a week later. I haven't had any further issues to date. Thanks John.

John responded promptly and professionally. The guys who came out to do the work, as far as I can tell, did a good job. It went from being very hot inside to very cool. The installation took a day. They were prompt. I'm not completely happy with their clean-up - they left trash in the garage and outside. Otherwise, the job was completed to our satisfaction, on time, and at a reasonable price.

I've been working with this company for years, and they have always been reliable. Stan is a doll!!

Most recently, my unit kept shorting out. Stan came out numerous times to investigate to find the short, eventually determining the problem to be a bad motor. He shopped around for the best part price, and didn't charge for the several visits required before that. Now my AC unit should last several more years! Any other company would have come out once, claimed it was unrepairable, and sold me a new unit! Integrity of this sort is rare these days, and so appreciated!!
