Went in to buy a capacitor for my unit. Talked into buying a universal motor for my condenser fan for $180. When I got home, I found out it wasn't so universal. When I brought the fan back I was told that all sales were final and would not get a refund. So now I am stuck with a part that I can't use and out 180 dollars with the excuse that I shouldn't have bought it then.
Seems like a customer focused ac parts shop but when my ac went out and I suspected it was a bad capacitor which is a typical part that goes out on heat pumps for which you will pay dearly for an ac technician to replace but is actually an incredibly easy replacement for an often $8 part that often results in a $200 bill. I took out my capacitor and brought it in to Ace whose part prices are more expensive than Grainger but they are a customer focused shop, not a parts only supplier at least that was what I thought. So I asked if they could test my capacitor to see if it was bad and they said only their technicians can since they have a "special tester" that was extremely expensive so being it was 90 degrees I was forced to pay $70 for the part. Turns out that it wasn't the capacitor it was the shoddy yet expensive fan replacement done by another large "reputable" ac company whose technician wired with shoddy connectors unsealed hanging loose where the fan blades could actually contact them and knocked them apart. Turns out you can find several highly rated "expensive" "specialty" capacitance testers on Amazon with free shipping for $20. Of course Ace has a no returns policy on capacitors. Customer focused, nah a bit shady seems like a more accurate description.
I have gotten my ac/heat unit serviced/repaired twice from ace they are always very responsive very professional and they do not try to up sale they go straight for the problem very honest people Troy came in today to trouble shoot the fan blower for the air handler replaced it in no time! Problem=====> Side by side fridge defrost heater was bad. Freezer side iced over, fridge side warm. Pros=====> #1. Nice Guy. #2. Got the job done right and in a timely manner. Cons=====> #1. Called at 8:30am, said they would have somebody there by noon, called at 1:40pm. #2. $220 for a $40 part and 45 min of labor = $180/hr.
If you don't have an exact part number the sales counter can't help youLowe's has better customer serviceI got the impression that they didn't want homeowner businessPassive aggressively rude
Quick, courteous response to my call for service. Not only did Troy fix our oven quickly, he also gave me helpful information about our circuit box and addressed another appliance that had been giving me trouble.
I have used this place no less than 8 times over the past 10 years and have had excellent service. They are really good for parts and typically if it is not in stock it is in the building in 24-48 hours. I highly recommend them.
Show up on time completed the job, fair price, fast, and didn't ad on services, I will do business with this company again my 1st call, trust that there honest trade professional. - sincerely 04/30/2019 9am appointment guy

Responsive via online request. Worked us into the schedule the same day. Fixed our washer and ordered the part ahead anticipating the issue.
