Florida Academy

This is the most disorganized school I’ve ever attended. My program was all over the place from the start. Moving students back and forth to different areas, having different teachers who are just as confused about what we should be learning as the students, hardly learning anything you’d expect from the course description as well as the tour. I’m writing this review to let other students know that if they are trying to get in contact with Mrs.Lisa regarding their license, it is nearly impossible. I have been waiting a month, sending emails and phone calls trying to get a response from someone at this school to help me. I want to let other students know that this school charges outrageous amounts of money for missed hours if your hours are not completed before your graduation date. After talking to other students, none of them seemed to be aware of this. There is no exception for a natural disaster or financial struggles. After completing and paying out of pocket for this expensive program, driving an hour to school everyday, I am beyond upset I cannot get a response from anyone and I regret taking this program in the first place. Make sure you also pay attention to your contract before signing so you are not misled. Seems like this school is led by money hungry snakes who do not care about their students whatsoever.

The staff go above and beyond to help and assist. The coursework taught will qualify you to take the MBLEX exam & pass! Big shout out to my instructors: Mr. Rob and Ms. E for the patience they took teaching us course material. All the questions we had and the answers they gave us. Mr. Todd gave a great welcome speach that made us feel at home. Ms. Lisa is everywhere to assist our class. These people carried, we the students, during a scarey pandemic in a positive and professional manner. They impacted our lives and will never truely know how much we appreciate them. Thank you all for helping me accomplish my dream of becoming a massage therapist.

Good school, Labs are awesome you learn to troubleshoot, replace parts, soldering and much more. Trust the process, Recommend it to those who want to secure a better future. A Lot of jobs need techs.

this school is probably the worst school in history , come to florida academy and ask all the student how they feel about this school . the higher ups threaten to bring there husband to beat me up . teacher dont teach anything . 95% of the time your in books . we are paying 12k+ for no reason what i learned here i could of learn on youtube. they are the legal scammer in florida . i would like to get my refund and i also want this school to get shut down . i wouldnt like someone else wasting there time here . when they could actually be doing something great for there career not come here and waist time. this administration is the worst . pls help . ive complained to the office and nothing as been involve . mr daniel is one of the worst teacher here ,curses , threatens , wishes the worst of student . pls help.

I have a relative currently attending the evening HVAC course and it sounds like the students care more than the teachers do about learning. There has been numerous times he will text me, “well another night of not having anything to do in class.” Sending pics of the guys on their laptops playing games and drawing because they are not being taught the trade their there to learn. Occasionally some online course work to do but barely any hands on training. This isn’t an “online” course. He isn’t driving an hour to get to this school for hands on training to learn a new trade and be successful in life just to get there and not get what he’s paying for. He has also told me they don’t get lab time because the school doesn’t want to spend $ on supplies like copper and gas. One of the teachers was yelled at for letting them braze. The students pay for supplies thru their tuition. He’s even told me the guys will watch a YouTube video from another HVAC school and another instructor on how to do something when they have 10 units to practice on. Also, the students are required to stay in class even without an instructor present? Multiple guys in the class are complaining to each other about the class but nobody wants to speak up and say why aren’t we learning hands on training? My relative doesn’t even want to go to school at this point because he is beyond frustrated. He wants to be successful and start a new career and after several months of being there now, he said he does not feel anywhere near confident to go out and get a job in the HVAC field and doesn’t feel like after another several months of school, he still won’t have that confidence he thought he would by attending this school. Very disappointed in this school. I’m leaving this review because I feel bad he’s paying all this $ for schooling and not getting what he should from it.

NOTHING CHANGES EVEN WITH POOR REVIEWS. Last week an office staff member is SCREAMING, THREATENING AND CLAPPING HER HANDS IN A STUDENTS FACE AND SHE STILL HAS HER JOB. This school is money hungry and does not care about the students learning. Horrible. Just Horrible. I ask my relative, "so you're about to graduate, are you ready to go out and get a job? Do you feel like you know everything you need to, to go out and confidently work in the HVAC field?" and his reply was "No, not at all." There was so little actual hands on training and mostly just book work. Please anyone who is reading this, look for another school. Also, no I don't need to call and discuss these issues with the President. Go and talk to your students.

Great first two weeks in the HVAC program. Have learned so much from Danny so far. Tonight we worked hands on with the trainer learning how to read the vital signs of how to diagnose the problem

Great night in the lab learning about fan motors compressors and capacitors this is an amazing opportunity and experience. Thanks Florida academy and Instructors Danny and Alex.

I just finished school here through their massage therapy program. The instructors are amazing. Mrs. E, Mr. Rob. And Ms. Laura are amazing individuals, not only are they good at what they do, but they also care about each individual in the class. They care about the success of each student and take the time with each student as needed. They are well equipped with the knowledge as well as patience to teach. I feel well equipped for my field of work and also very knowledgeable, thanks to the them. This was a very memorable experience and I will carry it with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for such a great opportunity and to learn from the best.

This review doesn’t have anything to do with me personally but I had a customer in my salon that goes to school here and she got a perm done by a stylist in the cosmo program, the stylist was told by her instructor that it was perfectly fine to perm over top of previously bleached hair , this poor girl was sobbing in my chair because her hair was completely melted and not salvageable, if that is what we have to look forward to from future cosmetology graduates that’s a joke

I was disappointed in my experience at the school the only teachers that had took the time to answer my questions was Katy and Mrs T. The nail program was a joke us students had to learn from each other! It took forever to get our kits and we were still missing items , we were told that we will have a refund for the makeup kits we never received and no one answers emails, or returns calls! We did not receive text books or workbooks their online learning we kept getting lock out because the codes were not good. I just hope this school gets better on getting learning tools for their students I enjoyed my friendship’s I made there!

Ok had a nice talk with Todd , got our refund for the makeup kits he also informed me I can come back and sit back in to learn what I miss out on and he is looking into other things we discussed over the phone
