Great company , great service, great representatives ! I spoke with a representative named Jonathan who was a patient , quintessential gentleman throughout every one of my elderly questions and consequent repeated questions ! It is a pleasure to talk to service representatives who are so helpful, kind and carefully walk you through every step of purchasing a pre pay oil plan .
What’s great is we worked through all the business details right on the phone and I was able to pay the balance securely over the phone rather than sending a check through the mail after Docu signing the contract through email .
This company is great about crediting your next years’ pre pay plan with all the money you didn’t spend from what you bought last year ! Those credits add up significantly over the mild north east winters like we had last year !

They might not be the cheapest, but they certainly are the most reliable. I've been a customer for 4 yrs and really have tried to get something better out there. They are the best.

P.S.
Their service contract they recommended to me when I first signed up with them saved me hundreds of dollars on my first service call.

Called for excessive heat issue with my furnace. Appeared to be a bad zone valve. Called at approximately 2:30pm on Monday and waited approximately 10-15min for a customer service member. Once connected the rep was very professional and a pleasure to work with!
I would not have expected to wait so long to get through to service given how large HOP energy is. With multiple customer service centers in several states, I would think they would back up each other during heavy call volumes.

Luna was exceptional today in assisting me with my bill payment. She worked w me to obtain a discount on future oil deliveries and hopefully was able to lift the auto-delivery hold on my account. She was informative, professional and above all...she was kind and understanding. Thank you, Luna. My parents were 70+ years w Mercury Energy...their customer service is a big reason why, I'm sure of that.

We were suppose to have service for our boiler and no one showed up but we got an email saying our service was completed. Trying to reach them is impossible and they don’t return calls if you leave a message. After my contract expires I will be going elsewhere. Absolutely no customer service, steer clear.

I have been using Mercury for several years. Their service men are very knowledgeable and pleasant. The oil tech and phone staff is polite as I usually call a few days after delivery to see how much is left on my oil contract. For my needs the oil contract works out the best. Bad customer svc, never available during emergency hours, and will keep calling you about a bill you paid day 1 on the phone with THEIR rep. Smh.
