As I explained to the customer service person yesterday who called, my intention here to is to provide a fair, polite, honest assessment of my experience with Lighten Up. I hired them to perform a kitchen drain clean-out for my rental property; after explaining the urgency and that I needed someone who could address the issue quickly, they committed to a 12-4pm window on a Friday which would mean a 24-28hr period where my tenant would not have use of the kitchen plumbing...a bit longer than I had hoped for, but I deemed this acceptable and it would allow me to try a new service provider. I then received a call in the middle of the Friday arrival window (2:15pm) and the customer service person told me their technician slated to do the job was being held up on a project that was taking more time than anticipated. Okay, I thought, they are probably going to tell me they will arrive after the stated 4pm timeframe, possibly designate a different technician, etc. However I was told that they won't be able to fit me in at all today, and I'd have to wait until the following Monday. This was unacceptable to me, as I can't have my tenant go another 72 hours without plumbing. I explained that the reason I hired Lighten Up was because they committed to servicing the problem on Friday. The customer service person apologized and said there is nothing she could do. I then asked her what creative solution can we come up with: perhaps a different technician could come after their current job? No. Perhaps any technician could come after hours or on the weekend? No. Could you at least ask your technicians if they would be willing to take on this urgent job (with a job scope of less than one hour)? No. Could I pay one of your technicians a premium to come after 5pm? No. She stated they don't offer 24 hour service, to which I replied I wasn't asking for 24 hour service; I was looking for some creative solution to get the job done before Monday since they are the ones that committed to Friday and have missed the appointed time. Exasperated, I explained all I have left is to find another provider and to leave a poor review based on my experience. I asked if her management/ownership might want to get involved and possibly come up with something to help a new customer, who also has other properties that often require plumbing/HVAC services...but the only answer I could ever get from her is No. I understand that projects can be unpredictable and schedules change; I have no problem with that. But I do have a problem when the face of a company is completely unwilling to take steps to recover from a scheduling problem, can't think outside the box, won't involve their management, etc. to try to help a new (and potentially returning) customer. I gave her multiple opportunities work together but she was just unwilling. I can't say whether this is an individual issue, or more reflective of how this company operates in general and that the customer service person was just doing what she's been told to do. Now pressed for time since I received such a late notice that they would fail arrive as promised, I scrambled to find another service provider. I am happy to note that Drain Doctors were super accommodating, arrived on time and took care of the problem very quickly -- meeting my initial Friday afternoon requirement. My recommendation is to call Drain Doctors instead of Lighten Up.

No integrity, sloppy work, Brandon didn't even finish the A.C. install, leaving the entire system disabled and us having to live in 100 degree temps until we called in a professional who quickly saw the A.C. wasn't wired at either end. Costing us another $546, to complete the job Lighten Up was hired to do. When we filed a complaint, they lied and made up B.S. thinking they were covering their you know what's.
scott and Brandon are liars, bullies and have absolutely no care of doing a GOOD JOB.

Another issue with Lighten Up is they left us with a safety hazard and put us through way to much stress trying to come to a resolve, which is we have to arrange for this to be fixed since they have NO CONCERN that my wife can not step out to the back yard without feeling in danger of tripping and falling, please see pictures of their plumbing going right in front of our doorway.
Also, I wonder how much of a discount they give their customers if they would write a good review, or are they simple jobs anyone can do.
The BBB is receiving a complete report of the entire unfortunate dealings with Lighten Up. I have noticed that most positive reviews (paid for in some way), do not mention having to work with scott, he is the main one who created problems with us, if they say Scott will be out, tell them NO SEND SOME ONE ELSE. 😛

Lighten Up Plumbing and Heating installed a new furnace today. The two young men that installed my new furnace were well trained, had a great attitude, communicated well and made their visit a very nice experience. I have had Lighten Up out to the house for several visits doing both plumbing and Heating services. This is my third experience with them and all were very satisfactory. Good Company, good employees and professional services! I highly recommend this company!!

Kyle and Ben arrived promptly at scheduled time. Kyle was knowledgeable regarding previous wiring repair done by LightenUp and asked several questions to get information for the current issue. Once the problem was identified, he offered information as to the possible cause and options to correct it. Repair was timely.
Both technicians were pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable in resolving the problem. A good experience.
Only negative was small area of debris left on floor in hall that wasn’t swept up.

Handled this brilliantly & compassionately. Best service I have had in any category of home maintenance of my home ownership in Northern Colorado to date since I moved here in 1988! We have been clients of this company for years. A subscription service gets us maintenance and free service calls. Recently, they installed a new, more efficient furnace for us, and I was impressed with how they didn't try to upset me or confuse me about what I was paying for. We'd installed a new smart thermostat that was supposed to be very good, but after returning it twice and having three units that caused our A/C and furnace to run simultaneously (which is part of why we needed to replace our furnace), we finally called Lighten Up to verify that the problem was the thermostats. They came, spent an hour installing and reinstalling thermostats, confirmed that the problem was in the popular and supposedly high quality (Google) thermostat, and didn't even charge me anything for it. I love these guys. Brandon, Kevin, and Jon are all super friendly, and they know what they're doing. This year on my annual a/c checkup, Keith and Eric were super friendly and efficient. When they pointed out that the condenser could use a cleaning and I indicated I'd like to get that done, they just asked, "Do you want us to do it right now?" And they did it. I didn't have to deal with making calls and scheduling a different appointment. I love it when things can just get done.

I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Cole G into my home to repair my toilet yesterday. He was on time, extremely polite, explained what he was going to repair and how much it was going to cost before he began. I've used many repair services since I've moved to Fort Collins, and I can honestly say, Lighten Up Plumbing is head and shoulders above all other companies I've used. From the first call to arrange the appointment until completion, this is the most professional, customer service driven company I've ever dealt with. This was definitely a 5 star experience. A huge thank you goes out to Cole G for a job well done!

Kevin and Brandon are amazing! We've been using Lighten Up's services for over a year for electrical upgrades and HVAC maintenance, and they were here to help when my air conditioner stopped working over the weekend. Turned out I needed to replace the compressor which is a extremely large homeowner expense. Nonetheless,I felt really confident about what we decided to move forward with and Chris took great care to explain everything about the replacement product and warranty.

Brandon and Kevin worked out in the hot sun all day today on the hottest day of the year so far in 2021, busted their butts to get this done for me today and I couldn't be more thankful for their awesome dedication to getting us cooled off. We also decided to sign up for their maintenance membership last year and it's saved us so much money and headaches, it was a great investment and will continue to be one moving forward as well.

I trust this business, I am always so impressed at how friendly and happy their technician's are and it seems like they really take care of their employees from office staff to technicians, everyone is wonderful. I've had several appointments for various different things and each time everything gets taken care of and I feel such a peace of mind knowing that everything is getting worked on with they're great attention to detail and customer service.

I also have to mention Celeste and Michaela in the office, they are so sweet and friendly I can feel them smiling through the phone when I talk to them, just wonderful girls I can't say enough about this company whatever they're doing they're doing it right. Thank you guys!

In June, 2021 I had my entire HVAC system replaced by Lighten Up. My experience was great from beginning to end. Two installers arrived on time, they wore uniforms, covered their shoes and covered all carpet they would walk on with plastic and rugs. Professional all the way through the day was the way they worked. I also was very happy with the brand of the AC. I especially want to mention Kevin, Brandon and Ryan. Scott, their Service Manager, stopped by to check on them. I will recommend “Lighten Up” to any of my friends interested. Kay Tiff
