Matt and his team were outstanding! They were timely, courteous, and had very fair pricing. I have my new HVAC team for my house and all the properties I manage now! They rerouted a bunch of radiant heat baseboard lines around my house, moved lines for a renovation into the ceiling so we could raise it, moved a thermostat, various items.

Highly recommend this company. Matt, the owner, is very responsive and very knowledgeable. Zach and Mike came out and worked thru the rain with a great
attitude. I have gone thru a couple of HVAC companies over the years and so glad to have found Bear Mountain.

Be really cautious of this company. Used them for a whole house humidifier Aprilaire 600.
-Bait and switch - charged more than quoted;
-Owner - Matt was rude when I called to follow up and not helpful and blamed me.
-Poor installation resulted in mold issues within the unit and furnace resulting in $2000 of testing and clean up fee six months later (See pictures below).
-When I followed up with Matt he was rude, blaming, and hung up the phone on me.
I called to have them install an Aprilaire unit on furnace that I had already purchased Aprilaire 600 Auto. They initially told me they would not install a previously purchased unit so I returned the unit and had them install one of their units. Initially they quoted me $500 for the unit and installation. They went ahead and installed the unit and came back with an invoice of $850 and it was a manual unit (wrong unit). When I asked about it they said that they could not do $500 because of the labor and parts. After lots of discussion. We ended up settling for $659.
Six months later I noticed a lot of mold build up in the hose due to a kinked hose which the technicians initially said he would fix and then didn't. I replaced the hose and changed the filter to remove the problem. I had mold testing done which resulted in significant mold within our house. We ended up paying a company $2000 to test and remove mold from our air ducts and furnace after the fact. When I called Matt to see if there was anything we could do to make things right he got very defensive and told me that "I have a very loyal client base, I don't need customers like you." Poor customer service. Poor form. Ultimately disappointed in the services resulting in thousands of dollars of cleanup costs.
Be very careful if you use this company.

I would like to give a strong recommendation for Matt and Bear Mountain Mechanical. We needed to replace the manifold for our under floor radiant heating system this past year and we spent many weeks trying to find a company that would replace it for a reasonable cost. We had one company indicate it would cost over $20,000 and take a significant amount of time to get the equipment needed. Clearly, that company was trying to take advantage of us. Matt did the repair for a fraction of the time and the cost. And the repair is currently working well. I highly recommend Matt and Bear Mountain Mechanical.

Easily beat out two other estimates by more than 1k dollars for a Furnace replacement with a new AC installation included. Although I had a few installation issues at first, they were very quick to correct them to get it right. Used BMM again for a humidifier install and everything works great. Matt and his staff are very helpful and quick to respond.

I have had Bear mountain mechanical doing work for a few years now. I would highly recommend them. They can handle anything you throw at them. They show up when they say they will. In emergency situations, they are fast with answering calls, whether it's the middle of the day or the middle of the night.

I have used Bear Mountain Mechanical for a few projects around my home, including: a new Heating and new AC Unit install and some maintenance visits.
I am always impressed how professional and straightforward the business is conducted. I was never once been left without working heat or air for more than a few hours and the job was done before the deadline for the project and within the scope of my budget. The quality of the equipment has always been fantastic as well.
I would most certainly trust them with future work and plan on using them for a few custom projects this coming year alone.

Matt, Zack, and everyone at Bear Mountain Mechanical has been super clear with advice and plans, and very fair with pricing. I always feel that they suggest only what is needed, and then perform the work quickly and skillfully. Finding and fixing problems with boilers and their plumbing can be a challenge. They stand behind their work and make sure everything is done right. Always a great experience.

The plumbers who installed the radiant heat system when I built my house (not Bear Mountain) installed it wrong using tubing that allowed oxygen into the system along with a cast iron boiler. Water, oxygen and iron caused rust that was then in my system. 10 years ago, Bear Mountain replaced my boiler with a stainless steel boiler and a heat exchanger at a cost of over $8000 that should have cured the issue but there was a cast iron pump that they did not replace until about 1 month ago. The pump should have been replaced at the time the new boiler was installed but was left to cause more rust issues for 10 years. That should have been replaced at the same time. You can’t fix the issue until all cast iron parts were replaced with stainless steel or the rust issue will not go away. They used to be good company with Techs who knew what they were doing but no longer. They have come out over 15 times in the past 9 months, charged over $6000 and I am left with a boiler spewing more than 10 gallons of water a day onto my floor. Recently they installed a $600 pump that was not needing to be replaced. Their tech, Zach, came out to remove it and put the old one back in. That’s all he was supposed to do. Instead he decided to flush the system but introduced air into it so the boiler started making horrendous noises. I came in to check on him and he had flooded my basement. This guy has no idea what he is doing. The owner, Matt Pagano kept trying to say my radiant heat system needed to be repiped and that this would fix all of my problems so Zach came back out and repiped but the next day the boiler failed. Matt came back out and said it wasn’t done correctly so he did it himself and said everything should work right. It failed again the next day so he came back out and cleaned the heat exchanger saying that should fix everything but that’s when water started flooding my basement again. I called him back and he laughed and said “I guess you need a new boiler.” and told me to turn off the system and turn it back on when I need hot water and that he would not come back out until I bought a new boiler.
I am stuck without hot water for the past 2 weeks unless I restart the boiler, put a bucket under the relief valve and have to dump the bucket every hour.
Matt is now refusing to come back out, told me he doesn’t feel bad for me and told me to get a new company. What a great way to treat a 10 year client.

Alec and Danny came out to inspect our boiler this week for the first time and it was a great experience. These gentlemen were on time, inspected our boiler and said we're good to go, did not try to sell me something I don't need and said they hope to see us next year for an annual inspection. That's a done deal - I will request these two again!
