Had my HVAC installed last fall and hadn’t run the air conditioner until our recent heat wave. The system works great, but relative to the master bedroom a couple of upstairs bedrooms were cooling unevenly.

Called A1 to schedule an appointment and they had someone out the same day. Matt Hiteshew, service tech, texted and let me know he was on his way. I wasn’t home, but my teenage sons were, and Matt kept me updated via text message, sent me pics of the problem, and the corrective measures. He was timely, communicative, and very professional.

I am thoroughly impressed with A1 and Matt!

We called this morning and received a response right away. Our support person today was Jeff who is very professional, transparent, and walk us through every step. I appreciate his kindness overall. I have been using A-1 Guaranteed Heating & Air, Inc. for several years. They perform my annual HVAC maintenance, and their employees are experienced, professional and punctual. This year my bi-annual HVAC maintenance was performed by Brian G., a USMC veteran, as am I. You couldn't ask for a more friendly and knowledgeable HVAC professional. I highly recommend A-1 for your HVAC services.

I received a call in advance to let me know the ETA for the technician and the work was thorough and CLEAN. The response was prompt, professional, and Matt took the time to show me how to clean my filter and he showed me a few other adjustments that I could make to increase the longevity’s of my heater.

Joe, is always thorough when doing his work. He goes up in the attic and takes his time inspecting. He checks the meter in the hall. He went outside to check our fan, and I noticed he was quite busy inspecting and doing his work. When I asked him if I could pass through to use the restroom, he was more than happy to appease. If I have any questions, he is always helpful when answering, and when needed, he will give recommendations.

I am on the maintenance plan & have been since I replaced my system and upgraded with AC back in 2006. For the last few maintenance intervals, my service technician Chris. L has maintained my system. I enjoy his professionalism and attention to detail. A-1 Rocks!

My furnace developed a crack in heat exchanger and A-1 was called and quickly diagnosed the problem. A replacement furnace was obtained and installed in a very short time. They also checked the new one to make sure there was no problems afterwards. I highly recommend A-1 Guaranteed Heating & Air Inc.

We had a good run with these guys until last week. Our fan motor broke. The technician thought that the capacitor was the culprit. Replacing it didn't fix the problem, hence the fan motor diagnose. For the repair, we are asked $384 for the capacitor and $880 for the fan motor! I checked online. Found the very same motor for $230 and the same capacitor that had expired after at least 8 years of service for $21... Absolutely nuts. I ordered the parts and asked for a new visit to perform the repair. As expected, the manager's initial answer was that it wasn't possible because they were not responsible for the parts that I ordered. I insisted, so they asked $700!!!! The final offer was $400, because getting to my home, doing the service and driving back would take 4 hours... Guys, you are competing in my market- Lamorinda- Walnut Creek. You can't charge me 2 hours or more of transit time because you are located in the area code 707. This is not a good value for the Lamorinda/ Walnut Creek/ Danville area.
