Vasyl AC Heating & Air

I had an emergency with my heater early this morning and they responded to us within minutes and were over to fix the issue very soon after. We’ve used this company before, they are super helpful and professional, identified and fixed the problem very quickly & very fair pricing.

Vasyl was wonderful. He was the 1st to respond to my AC repair need. He was up in my attic by the time I received the next call back. He had the parts fix the system the next day and the job was completed in less than 24 hours from my call out to him. I highly recommend Vasyl AC. I will definitely be using him for all my AC needs.

Vasyl was able to come out the same day, and he was very thorough. We had decided to get a second opinion, so I sent him a message on Thumbtack. He came out within an hour or so. The previous tech had told us we probably needed new AC units, or possibly more air returns cut into the ceiling. Vasyl told us our units weren’t old and were working perfectly. One of the units needed a new capacitor and one needed some freon. I’m so thankful to him for not only saving us money, but for being straightforward. I will definitely hire him again! He’s the only AC tech I will use from now on.

Our air conditioner stopped cooling and while Vasyl AC Heating & Air was quick to arrive, the only options given were to replace the compressor entirely for $2500 or to replace the entire system. The next day another HVAC company came out and had the AC up and running in less than 5 mins with no replacement parts. We opted to swap out the capacitor just in case and it is still running - all for less than $300. While we do intend to replace the full system eventually, we will definitely not be going with Vasyl as we had to go over 24 hours without AC on something that was clearly an easy electrical fix. Additionally, we learned about the manual J calculation requirements in the state of California that mandate HVAC companies to take into account the unique elements of your home including window types, roof color, insulation, etc when recommending the appropriate size AC for your home. This is much different than the old assumption that you need 1 ton of AC for every 500 square feet of your home which can result in a system that is much larger than needed and end up costing thousands of dollars more in cooling costs in just a few years. After all of these items were taken into consideration, we learned we only need a 2.5 ton AC unit. This was after being strongly encouraged by Vasyl that our system is highly undersized and we needed to upgrade to a 4 ton unit when in fact we can downsize. Our advice, get multiple opinions and do your research - it can save you tons in the long run.

My pro arrived on time, walked me thru how to properly clean my filters and how often I should be doing it. He was wonderful and very nice. He was able to diagnose the problem quick and fix it immediately.
