We had received a $4,000 quote from another company and called magma for a second opinion. They correctly diagnosed the issue and literally saved us thousands of dollars. Roman was very honest and friendly. I will only call this company in the future for all my future HVAC needs. Honesty and reliability that is hard to find these days. Great service from my first call to Diana to the job completed the same day.
Visit was scheduled promptly. Tech was courteous and engaged with my questions. The system has not been repaired yet - pending a scheduled follow up to replace the compressor, but I am confident from the experience so far that it will be handled well.
Excellent experience working with Magma. The previous two companies our Home Warranty assigned were not up to snuff but Magma got us scheduled very quickly, were very responsive and reached out regularly to assist with issues. They were very clear how our choices would impact out of pocket costs with home warranty and helped us get back and cooling quickly with a new unit. Installers were amazing and had us fully back up in only 2 hours! Thanks Ray and Diana you were awesome!
Could not believe how unprofessional these people are. All they do is give you the runaround. Had a scheduled appointment for a new AC unit. Was told they needed to push back my appointment 2 hours. They never showed up. Had to take a day off of work for no reason. Called numerous of times and no return phone call. Not sure how this company is even in business. Quite comical they only respond to the positive reviews. Do better.
The serviceman was nice and professional. Those running the company are NOT honest people. Twice they had me sleeping in a hot house, because they were supposedly coming that day. (I work nights and sleep during the day.) They lied on Friday morning and said the serviceman was running late. When he never showed up, I called and they said they had just received the compressor for my unit. Why did they make an appointment to fix it if they didn't have the parts!?!? They said they would come Saturday morning. They never came nor did they call me to cancel. Again. I slept in a hot house for no reason. I called them 5 times. They never answered. I then called them on Monday. They tried to blame the home warranty company by saying the warranty company bought the wrong part. I do not believe the warranty company is ordering specific parts. They lie. You would think that due to their dishonesty and incompetence that they would give me a discount, but no. Nothing. Again, the serviceman was good. But those answering the phone. who I believe to be the owner ir manager, are dishonest and do not apparently care if they provide good customer service.
Clean new trucks and professional tech, nice guy who seemed to know what he was doing. But he came out to diagnose a condenser freezing up problem that would probably be low Freon. And then my doubt began.
He started right out trying to get us to replace our unit with a new one. Now understand he wasn’t necessarily wrong because our A/C is over 50 years old, but it still works really well. My problem is that he was so focused on a new unit he ignored me telling him the condensate line was plugged causing all that water under the the base. He wanted to raise the unit to fix the problem, and then I had to remind him why he was here.
Eventually he added Freon and correctly pointed out that type of Freon is over $120 a pound and it is not made anymore - all true.
So he was correct a new unit would be a good idea, and his prices were right in line, and he did fix the low Freon issue that will fix the freezing up problem.
But I had to blow out the condensate line and somehow I just doubt the advice of somebody trying to sell a new unit before they even diagnose the actual problem with the current one. And keep in mind, as he repeatedly pointed out, our home warrantee would pay for it if he told them them our unit was not repairable.
I’m not really happy with the home warranty people but that doesn’t mean I forget my ethics and honor and screw the home warranty people just because I can.
So his advice was correct, I think he is a good tech and his company was mostly responsive, they just made me doubt them.
Lucky to have found Rocky! It was move in day to our new home and much to our dismay, the AC unit upstairs was not working. My home warranty ended up sending out MAGMA HVAC. The warranty co wouldnt cover the work but I ended up using MAGMA anyway due to the great experience and thoroughness I had with Rocky. He had to completely reinstall my attic unit. Thank you again Rocky!
