Daniel Smith Heating & AC

We, had Daniel Smith Heating and Air remove the old coolers and install our air conditioning on our clubhouse after receiving several bids. He was able to get us a good price and came out and installed them during the heat of summer and got them done quickly. I definitely, recommend this company for their great service!

Let me start by saying I am not typically one to write poor reviews because I don't want to hurt people's businesses unless they deserve it but this one needs to be out there. We called because our AC was having trouble. The owner said he could come look at it for $75 plus a $10 van charge. Other companies were booked out too far so we had him come look at it. I tried to explain the issue to him and he would only talk to or respond to my husband. We both thought it was weird but let him keep looking at the problem. He said the Freon was 1-2 lbs low and could fill it for $60/lb. but couldn't find any other issues even though he didn't seem to be looking at much. He talked and talked about possibilities without looking at the things he was talking about. We decided to have him fill it since we were already paying $75 for him to be there. As he was filling it the AC started making the noise I had tried to describe to him and cold air started blowing out of the unit instead of heat (what is should release). He explained a few possible options of what COULD maybe be happening but didn't look into it any further. He said he was done and gave us a bill that included a $100 labor charge that he NEVER mentioned when he explained the Freon cost. I called him out right then and said he was ripping us off and didn't do a single thing to actually repair or diagnose the issue. He didn't budge so we paid him to get him out. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. My guess is that he makes his money by ripping people off for "diagnosing" issues and not repairing anything.
Edit- after getting a second opinion, we were told that the freon was now way too high and we had to pay to have it reduced. This guy is a complete joke. Honestly do not use his services.

Was without heat and Daniel made me feel like priority as he didnt stop the job until the heat was up and going again which even required him to stay long after normal hours and I didnt get charged an after hours rate. Genuine, honest, and fair HVAC business which is rare these days. No unnecessary charges, nothing done without explaining first, very respectful and courteous of my home. I recommend daniel smith to everyone I know. Very pleased with my experience.

If I could I would say negative 5 stars, he completely fried our circuit board because he didn't do a diagnosis first, he said he would be quick and fair. He got the wrong part the first time, then said he couldn't do the job because he can't find the part needed, tried to bill me and said if I could find the part he'd be happy to do it then. I then called the same company he said he spent hours with trying to get the part. With in 5 minutes they said that they had the part. He charged me 3 hrs at 100 dollars an hour for this part that I found, mind you he said they didn't make the part. After putting in the wrong part to start. He then puts in the right one and fries my circuit board and thermostat. Due lack of diagnostics. He goes and gets another board and bill 950$ for both. Since I found the right part I know it was 217$ and some change, plus charged me for the thermostat he fried to boot. I told him I would pay mark up the one installed even though I thought it a bit much. I said I'll even pay the 217 $ for one fried. He insisted I pay 900$ and that's as low as he'd go. He charged me 1750$ for what should have been an hous worth of work. Drug it out for a day and a half. I also heard he was charging my wdowed mother 78 yrs old 500$ to do spring check ups and fall check ups on her system, 1000$ a year. He's CROOK DO NOT USE HIM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE !!!

I would recommend this company to everyone I know. Showed up the same day to put us back in heat!!! They were very friendly and the cost was lower than other companies had quoted over the phone!
