We had requested a service check via a telemarketing call and scheduled a tune up. When the tech came out (I believe Jul 24), my wife was home on maternity leave with our first child. He performed his check up and told my wife that there were numerous capacitors that were out of variance and they would all need replaced. He told my wife these were not covered by our home warranty company as they were not completely dead. He also stated the parts cost $125 a piece and he would waive the labor fees as we were purchasing the service plan (see later on) and when a home warranty company replaces them, they do so with a much cheaper part. He also talked my wife into purchased a "service" plan through them as my home warranty company did not provide similar service. He stated that since we were getting the service plan, he would waive all the labor costs. All said in done the trip cost us $1200.

After the technician left, we researched the capacitors further and found two issues with what the technician told my wife to get her to have them replaced. 1) Our home warranty company covers them when they are out of variance, not completely dead like the tech had told us and 2) there really is a nominal difference in price in capacitors and they actually cost about $20, not the $120 that we led to believe. The $100 includes the labor fees built in to the replacement cost. In addition, we found that our home warranty includes a similar "service" plan built in to the plan and did not need to pay the additional $400 for Pleasant Valley's.

After calculating the items that our home warranty company would have paid for, we determined that we paid out of pocket $900 of covered services. We immediately contacted (Jul 29) Pleasant Valley and spoke to Manager Sean. He stated that he understood and would review the situation. We told him that we felt responsible for $300 and we should be reimbursed $900. Sean called back the following day and left a voice mail stating that he reviewed the situation and he needed to put together some paperwork for his complaint manager in Phoenix to approve and issue the our refund. He stated that we should receive the refund shortly.

We waited two weeks and did not receive our refund check, so we called back. We spoke to Sean again and he stated he did not know why it was taking so long and that he would follow up and call us back. After we did not hear back from him in another two weeks, we called back again this time his secretary took a message as he was not in the office. Again no return call. We waited another week called again and again he was not in the office and we left another message with his secretary. And again no call back. Since then we have called two more times and these times there was no answer at all and we left voice mails. So in total we have called 6 times in the last two months and have only received 1 call back.

I want the refund that was promised to us.

I love these guys, pleasant valley mechanical came out gave my a second opion on my system, after warranty company told me it couldn't be fixed. Carl explained what was wrong with system and went through options. We ended up buying a new Heat pump system with 10years parts and labor at a cheaper price than the warranty company offered.
    I highly recommend these guys....
    Very Happy!!!!!

I got a call from Pleasant Valley Air offering me a $39 checkup on my system. I was concerned that sheet rock dust from our recent construction would damage our expensive heat pumps. I was told that there were no filters on either heat pump and that my systems were filthy and would be horribly damaged if I did not get a $3000 cleaning. I called 4Seasons the next day for a $69 service call. Their tech showed me where my non existent filters where and how to clean them with a water hose. One system was clean, the other was a 20 on a scale of 1-100. I am so glad I got a second opinion. Saved me 3K.

Terrible overall and I would definitely avoid. They always send a different rep out and only a couple out of 7 or so seemed any good. One guy actually complained that he wouldn't make any money on my job because he was fixing another technicians mistake. Nice. Another thought he was going to get away with charging me $700 to find a problem with my system. I asked two others to come look at the system and they told me and shoed me the problem in 5 minutes. Then pleasant Vally had the audacity to try and charge me $14,000 for an American Standard unit. I ended up going with another company for around $8500 for a top of the line Trane T20i (something like that) and free service for my other units and they were truly pleasant to deal with. Pleasant Valley is set up to send sales people/technicians to your home and they are incented to sell NOT to service. They are all about selling you a maintenance plan. Be aware that all they do us use this as a reason to find more work to do and they inflate it to compensate for this 'discount' you think you bought.I explained this to the guy I spoke with today when they called to schedule my visit and he laughed and told me their prices were fair. Hmmm $14k for a lessor unit when I paid $8k for top of the line. Fair doesn't come to mind. Laughing at my comments should tell you something. Sounded like he hears this all the time.

Be aware the the positive comments on this board are likely coming form Pleasant Valley themselves. It's pretty obvious.

I've used Pleasant Valley since 2012 and have had nothing but great service. From a 5 year service plan to replacement of parts. Timely and an explanation with every action taken. From my research, they've saved me quite a bit of $$$.

After goggling the reviews I was quite skeptical about this company, but a friend of mine highly recommended them and so I made an appointment for them to diagnose a problem with my hvac system that my usual hvac company couldn't figure out. I am so glad I did. After the system was repaired I expressed to the technician that I was apprehensive to have them come out due to the negative online reviews and he explained they just purchased the company shortly less than a year ago and are changing their reputation one customer at a time. I'd rate them 10 stars if I could. I'd highly recommend this company and will use them for all my hvac needs in the future.

5 stars and here is why:

    1. called an hour before arriving, came on time, neat, clean and professional
    2. very knowledgeable on mini split system despite it being an off brand and obscure
    3. Very reasonably priced. Diagnosed and fixed the problem for $65. Alternate company wanted $600 to "clean system".
    4. In and out within an hour.
    5. polite and courteous
