Compass Air Services

My AC unit had been slowly losing cooling power over the last year or so. When I received a flyer in the mail from Compass encouraging me to "experience the difference," I decided to have them come out for a maintenance service. They confirmed the freon was 2 lbs low, and filled it up, but then said they couldn't find evidence of a leak. I paid for the service and freon @ $90/lb and moved on. Or so I thought...

Less than 2 weeks later, the AC unit lost all cooling power. I called Compass, they sent a guy over pretty quick which was nice. He did his thing, then came back to report to me that the freon was completely gone (6 lbs). Then he said he FILLED IT BACK UP. Six... pounds... put back into a fast-leaking unit. He didn't ask me, he just did it. He knowingly flushed away $540 worth of freon. Are you kidding me?

Then he said he still couldn't find any evidence of a leak. No really, are you kidding me?

Later that same day, the air quality sensors in my house spiked through the roof. I'm pretty sure all 6 lbs leaked out in about 8 hours. Freon is not good stuff you want to breathe. I sent my wife and child away, and I opened windows and turned on fans to get the freon out of my house. I was not happy about this.

Oh and the tech said he would have someone call me on Monday to come out and talk about replacements. This was two weeks ago. Nobody ever called. I wasn't really surprised at this point. I guess they wanted to forget about me as much as I wanted to forget about them.

So I found someone else to come and fix it. Sorry.

I had Compass Air come out to do a "tune up" on my home and a rental unit. Jeremy called to tell me he was on his way and he arrived right on time. He was thorough and explained things and was very polite and informative. I had a few questions and he answered them to my complete satisfaction. I will be using Compass Air for my future HVAC needs. Shout out again to Jeremy.

Had to replace an old A/C unit. Found these guys through a coupon. Jeremy came out to assess our needs and did a great job. Very thorough even set up financing to make it easier on the budget. When one of our newer units (not from them) died before it's time I called them right away. They replaced that unit too. For the first time in 20 years we were actually COLD at times with the A/C running. New unit was fantastic. Better energy savings, reduced my electric bill, they checked all the duct work and even traced my existing ducts because of an issue with how the returns were set up to make sure there were enough returns for the unit.

When the thermostat quit working for some reason they came out quickly to diagnose it. I wanted to change the type to a newer Zwave model and it wasn't in stock. They not only didn't charge me for the service call to find out why the thermostat wasn't working but when the new thermostat was backordered by manufacturer they continued to follow up to get the unit to me as soon as possible and get it installed.

Jeremy supervised the entire job and all the workers were polite. I've used other companies in the past and usually have trouble with the non-English speaking people they send out and worry that they aren't doing a good job since they can't answer any questions. Compass Air Services is a PROFESSIONAL service. I enjoy working with them. I highly recommend them.

If you want a cheap, low end, builder grade unit probably look elsewhere but if you want good, dependable, warrantied, hard working, long lasting higher end equipment like Trane...it is worth it.

Had to replace both AC and furnace. Compass Air was on time and very clean and professional. It helps to have the system financed...but better that the installation is done correctly. Compass Air did that.

The president of Compass Air is extremely rude and disrespectful. Do not use these guys. You will pay top dollar for a unit and it will not work.

Amazing experience! Great team, polite and professional. Completed new HVAC install, new duct work and insulation in 1 day. Total for all work qas half of competitor. Truly wonderful to have in your home!
