Terrible customer service. We had an appointment for Christopher to show up between 2 and 3. We waited until 3:45 when we called to see where he was. We were given a half hearted apology from John telling us he was stuck on a call. I asked why we were not given a courtesy call informing us that he would be late? Of course there was no answer just another I'm sorry. John was then informed to tell Christopher not to come out to the house. Why would we want a company who cannot bother to call when they're running late to put in an unit?

I had two technicians to bring a brand new unit Daniel and AJ, I think giving you guys a five star rating sucks. Because you deserve 100% rating,it was fixed in no time at all the technicians were both absolutely friendly and awesome. they did an incredibly great job and cleaned up everything perfectly when they were done, I would absolutely recommend this company to anybody. Every single person I dealt with was absolutely amazing, I thank God I finally found a good company that did not try to screw me

Our A/C Freon line was accidentally cut about mid-day today. Getting it fixed today was mandatory. We are long term customers of Southern and they have always responded lightening fast. On this Famously Hot Day, 94 feels like 103, we're cool again. Really never felt the house get warm. Thanks Southern!!

This company came out to inspect our heating and ac units for a potential buyer. When the guy left my home he left his trash stuffed between the ac unit and my house. W also heard a rattle coming from our ac unit and found out he didn't tighten the bolts on the plate he took off to inspect the unit. He then just left the white fence cover laying on the unit when I came to find out about the rattling. I had to call my ac company and have them inspect this guys work to make sure he didn't screw anything up and that cost me $100. Don't come to someones home and leave it a mess and call yourself and your work professional. Sloppy work for a sloppy company. By the way your company owes me $100 for the service call.

Absolutely horrible company!
I am currently 9 days without AC. Southern Air Tech diagnosed last Tuesday and since that day I have been told over and over that we are waiting on a "special order" for the part (fan motor and module). Many many VMs with no response from them. Lastly Friday, was told "100%" I would be up and running by the end of the day. Waited all day, no show, no call. My Warranty company got them on Saturday when they didn't answer my calls, and was told that they "special order" part did not come in and it wasn't there fault. Finally came out yesterday to install the "special order" part (which the tech told me while he was here that he had just picked up at a local supplier, oops they forgot to get him in on the lie) and ended up needed a wheel also after he took the unit apart, but it was too late in the day to get one. Received a call from their secretary this morning reciting the same lie she has told me over and over that my special order part was arriving today and they wanted to come tomorrow to install. I asked her what part and she said "the module". Strange that that is what the tech was here yesterday with to install. The part he needs is a wheel. Easily available at local supplier according to the tech when we spoke yesterday. In this morning's call, I stated that there have been many many versions of the truth in the 9 days I have been waiting and that all I have asked for is honest communication about when my AC would be fixed. A second woman, Renee, got on the phone and told me that I had called everyone there liars and they would no longer be fixing my AC. I have never used the word "liar" although it is now obvious that they have been lying nor have I called anyone a single name. I simply have stated that I would like communication and truth about when I can expect the job to be finished. Truly a horrible experience and I would never recommend Southern Air to anyone!
It should be noted that this is their Charleston Area office not Columbia. I have had no contact with that office.

UPDATE: After being "fired" today by Southern Heating & Air, my Warranty company called another Contractor to service my AC. They called me within 30 minutes to confirm appt, their tech called 30 minutes later to say he was on his way, he got here and within 1 hour MY AC IS UP AND RUNNING TODAY! 9 days to same day service... hmmmm

I recently returned from vacation to find my entire air condition unit frozen and the temperature in my house was 90 degrees. After researching heating and air companies in my area I Found Southern Heating and Air. When I called the receptionist was very professional and showed a true concern to help me with my situation. I was shocked to find out they could get a service technician out the same day. John Johnson the office manager called me back with the details for the time his technician would arrive. Charles Hall (technician) arrived on time and very quickly determined the he problem. He ordered the replacement part. Two days later when the part came in Richard Doddard (technician) came and replaced the part. His knowledge and expertise was 5 star. He explained what he did and even showed me how the failed part effected the function of the unit. I would highly recommend Southern Heating and Air.
