Great experience with their tune up service. Technician Sean Stallings was very timely, professional, tidy, and willing to allow me, a layperson when it comes to HVAC matters, to observe and ask questions about what he was examining. Very happy as well with the level of professionalism and not attempting to sell me on extra services or add ons, and was transparent about pricing and future possible work we could get estimates on. All in all, we will stick with Vernon for our future HVAC needs.

I found the tech rep polite, professional, and on time. He left his recommendation for further work. I did however find the estimate of future work outrageous. To replace a capacitor I can buy on Amazon for about $30 cost hundreds of dollars to replace, get real. So a $69 dollar visit turns into a capacitor replacement, a filter cleaning, and a so called deal for a maintenance contract turned into a $1000 dollar visit. Incredible.

I called and scheduled an appointment for initial diagnosis for $139. The Technician diagnosed the problem and said the company would get back to me with a quote to replace the fan motor, thermostat and circuit board. I waited ~ 10 days and contacted the technician again and he said he would see that it was done. A week later nothing. I tried contacting the technician two more times another week later and left a message with the company -nothing. Customer service isn’t hard if you communicate!! Now I see why they have so many 1-star ratings. Go elsewhere.

I didn’t end up using this company because my AC unit is too old and requires R22. However, the serviceman was extremely nice, explained everything, was prompt and courteous, and didn’t charge me for his trip out to my house because he couldn’t service my unit. I did not get pressured to buy a new unit while he was on site. After he left, I received an invoice (for $0), as well as several estimates for a new unit in a range of quality levels, in case I was interested in replacing mine in the near future.

We have used Vernon The Heating and Cooling Specialist since 2015 when they replaced/installed a new furnace and AC in our town house. We have a yearly maintenance plan. We initially had some problems with duct condensation until Matt, their senior technician specialist, found a solution. Matt is fantastic. He’s very knowledgeable, always timely and meticulous in his assessments and service. Also very courteous!! Highly recommend Vernon Heating & Cooling!
