As a real estate investor, I have tried using many HVAC companies over the years. Regardless of what area of the DMV my properties are in they always come thru for me. Quality Air is by far the most reliable, honest and affordable company I have had service my units. They are on time everytime, communicate throughout the entire process, and simply know what they are doing. I even use them for my personal house and my parents home as well. Don't wast time or money with anyone else
Our air conditioning unit failed on May 17th. We have our annual maintenance through ARS who had also installed our Carrier high efficiency HVAC system (two units) in 2008. The ARS technician came on the same day (5/17) and said that the transformer and the control board were knocked out. The cost for replacing them was around $1,600. However, as the unit was 14 years old, it could break again as it is also to at the end of its useful life. He would recommend replacing the unit. The next day, an ARS salesman came and I signed a contract to have the downstairs AC and furnace replaced by a comparable Carrier system for $15,000. Installation was scheduled for Saturday, May 28th. I decided to follow up on the diagnosis through American Home Shield (AHS). I filed a claim through AHS and they sent a technician from United Air Temp (UAT). He basically echoed the diagnosis of ARS and said he was not authorized to work on a communicating system such as the one we had. So, I called AHS back who then scheduled a technician from Quality Air Experts (QAE) to come and look at the unit. Today, Daniel from QAE came and diagnosed the problem. He found a loose wire which (amazingly) escaped the notice of both ARS as well as UAT. Daniel also noted that the switch sitting on top of the drain pipe needed to be replaced. He attached the loose wire and replaced the switch and bingo the system turned on. It is cooling the main floor and the basement very well. I immediately canceled our installation, cancelled our annual contract with ARS and gave the maintenance contract to Quality Air Experts. I would highly recommend QAE.

Mr. Ash was excellent. Diagnosed the problem quickly and will contact AHS to notify them that the outside unit needs to be replaced.
They did an excellent job with the furnace. They did break the door to the furnace area and left it broken.
This company & staff have consistently delivered on-time, professional and good quality services each time they come out to my home. I’ve had a major heat pump issue and the office staff is so courteous with scheduling my appointments, and the technicians have been excellent at explaining the repair process. I understand there is some type of phantom issue going on with my furnace that isn't glaringly obvious. But point blank, I explained the issue is sporadic. Whenever the current temperature is below the set temperature, cold air is blowing out of my vents. I have no clue why. Its sporadic. Only warm air was blowing while the technician was here. Per the technician, there was nothing for him to fix. He also didn't dig deeper and try to find an issue. Me leaving work for today's appointment was a complete waste of time. Because guess what, 5 hours later, cold air is blowing out of my vents. As we speak, the thermostat is set to 77 but it's 73 degrees. I guess this will be another night of turn off the heat, turn it back on, set the temperature to 85 or 88 and pray that warm air comes out the vent. Thanks for nothing.

Repair personnel arrived early, worked efficiently and replaced both furnace and AC units timely and cleaned up all old units and parts.
Very positive experience. The technician arrived early for the appointment. He was quick and had the system going in no time. My heating went out on Christmas Day and they had an appointment on Monday. I would use this company again
The first tech that came out didn’t listen to our concerns, spent five minutes, and told us everything was working like it’s supposed to work. I called to express my disappointment and they offered to send a senior tech within a few days at no additional charge (it was a holiday weekend). The senior tech spent a few minutes and found that 90% of wiring was burned out and therefore we’re only getting 10% of the heating function. I’m appreciative of the company taking a second look and look forward to having our heat working soon.
I had a similar experience to another customer who was referred by their home warranty (AHS). Our HVAC air handler recently began causing loud vibrations in our walls in the back half of our house when the variable fan is running on high. I've always been told that the development of new noises like this are a sign that something could be wrong or needs adjusted on the unit, and not fixing could potentially result in more expensive fixes/replacements later. The tech glanced at the air handler and basically told us to wait until the unit breaks down fully and call the home warranty company back. He wasn't interested in talking through the hours of troubleshooting I had done the day prior to isolate where the noise stems from, and also told us that air handler fans either work or don't work. There is no in between where they run but have issues. Overall I was happy they came out within 24 hours of requesting an appointment, but the tech left much to be desired.
Professionally service technician arrived on time and fixed the issue right away. We will definitely use them again!
1. They were able to come out, same day within the time requested. Convenience is everything for this busy Nurse Mom! 2. Timely, Professional and Helpful with a minor fix. Had my heat working within minutes! 3. Last but most importantly, Trustworthy! If you're looking for HVAC assistance and fearful of upcharge or over service, this is not a concern for this company. The technician was not friendly and was impatient. Also he was not a good communicator. I would not recommend him again.
