After the mini-split AC compressor died twice in the first year in my flower shop- (semi DIY) we decided to get a couple of bids- to replace and upsize the unit. Derek came out after hours and gave us several options (commercial vs residential) and explained the difference of each. When the bid came in- it was similar to the other bid- BUT with a MUCH better quality brand! And NO high pressure sales pitch, with The recommendation of using the less expensive option! After 3 weeks, of use, what a difference the unit has made in the shop- even with the 100’ temps of this summer, the shop is very comfortable! We liked Derek and his team so much, we decided to sign up for the maintenance program for our 3 heat pumps used in the bed & breakfast. They let us know in a timely manner that they were running a little late, which was fine. What a thorough job they did!!! Derek discovered a capacitor was about to go out on one unit and took the time to explain the testing involved. Then when his assistant came out of the attic, he was able to show us an issue that had probably been missed by the previous AC company for the last 3-4 service calls! Needless to say, Smithson Valley Services, provides a phenomenal quality of service, has a high ethical standard, and takes pride in what he does. SO glad we met and chose to do business with them!
Derek came out and checked our system. On the weekend! He was able to get us cool without a huge purchase, so we can get the replacement in our timeframe. Really nice guy!
They did everything they could to repair my old unit, but when it was clear there was no saving it, they presented new installation options and went above and beyond with a UV filter. I’m very happy with the quality of their work!
I was new to the area and didn’t have any references for a HVAC service company and choose Smith Valley Services because of their positive reviews and man they didn’t disappoint. They provided a timely response in the most busy part of the summer to make sure my family didn’t have to endure a dreadful night of heat . Dereck and Jose were extremely professional and put the customer needs first being available 24/7. I plan on using Smith Valley Services for all my HVAC needs in the future.
SHORT: Smithson Valley Services will fix it right the first time and be honest about it. LONG: I called a big name company first that made a recommendation that didn't make sense to me. When I called, Derek answered and said he wanted to be the one to do the diagnostic since it did not seem like a clear cut issue. He squeezed me into an already busy schedule, and did a very thorough diagnostic, explaining everything to me along the way. The real issue with my system isn't even close to what the big name tech told me. Not only is the repair cheaper, but more importantly it's the correct repair and I won't be out twice as much l money three months from now. Derek and Smithson Valley Services have been fantastic. He will be my only call from now on. While I've seen other companies claim to have honest and accurate values, Derek and Smithson Valley Services display them.

After getting an estimate from another company, Derek arrived and explained the options available. He was kind to answer my many questions, installed a whole new system in a timely manner, and followed up. I recommend this company.
Derek an his team were great! Even as it got late into evening Derek stayed an got our unit diagnosed an up an running. Great experience with great people! Would recommend to anyone!
From the first time I spoke with Derek I was impressed. We had replaced an expensive air handler motor a short time ago and our previous A/C company failed to note the coil was in really bad shape and it failed. Derek explained all our options and in the end we decided to replace the entire system. Derek and Augie did a great job in installing the new system in about 7 hours. They were professional and knowedgeable. And compared to other bids, they were the best.
