Same day service at reasonable price. Major service quotes have been at or below competitors prices.
We chose Climate Control after contacting and meeting with four different local suppliers of residential HVAC systems. We had been referred to Climate Control by friends that had used them earlier this year. Initially, we intended to simply add central air conditioning. But after getting a better understanding of the current technology, we decided to spend a little more $ and have a heat pump do the cooling instead. We were impressed with the amount of knowledge and creativity demonstrated by all four of the vendors that came to our home to survey our heating and cooling needs. Sal with Climate Control (Tigard) earned our business by going a little bit farther, including performing a detailed energy use assessment of our home (insulation, window types, square footage, etc.) In addition, as our understanding of the different system options grew, he quickly responded with new or modified quotes when we asked for them. The response from the other three vendors was slower or simply what I call MIA, missing in action. By that I mean their follow thru for revised quotes was not very good or no follow through at all. Once we placed our order, Victoria at Climate Control quickly scheduled our install date. The two install techs, Chris and Luis, were onsite at exactly the time Climate Control said they would be. We knew in advance our home had a few construction details that needed a little more thought for a successful install, and Chris was totally accommodating. The electrician Climate Control uses (his name was Adam) was also onsite on time and did neat, quality work and cleaned up after himself. The installation was completed on schedule and exactly as we had agreed. Since the install was completed, Victoria and Roy at the Climate Control office have been available for phone support anytime we have called. We chose the Carrier Infinity system for both the heat pump and new gas furnace. One of our priorities was that the heat pump (outside unit) be quiet enoug
I have been working with Climate Control for over 20 years on all my home HVAC needs and they have always been very responsive, knowledgeable and efficient. All their staff are also very courteous. I highly recommend them.
Sal Costello was wonderful to work with. He went above and beyond. He took the time to listen and draw up multiple quotes for us. Our furnace and air conditioner are in a very small area and he did some wonderful creative problem solving to figure out how to make a new system fit, all the while helping us understand what we were dealing with. Thank you Sal!
Zach came out to give us an estimate and was extremely thoughtful in examining all the options and explaining to us the pros and cons of each one.
When our 30+ year old furnace started dying a slow death, we contacted 5- 6 HVAC companies to get quotes on installing a new heating/ cooling system. We chose Climate Control, because they gave us the lowest bid, while still providing the grade of heating/ cooling system that we wanted (other companies wanted to downgrade the quality of system to install, to stay within our budget). Salvatore, who was our contact person from Climate Control, was fantastic- very professional, responsive, pleasant to talk with, informative, & helpful. Within 1-2 weeks of initial contact, we got an appointment to have our new heating/ cooling system installed. The 2 installers from Climate Control came on time both days, worked full days in installing the new furnace & air conditioner & repairing a duct under a crawl space. The installers were professional, well organized, answered our questions, & helpful in guiding us on how to program the new thermostat. A few days later, we had a few problems with setting up the schedule on new thermostat (our old one was an ancient relic, so we weren't familiar with some of the settings on the new one). When I contacted Salvatore via Email about this, he & Roy (installation supervisor) were responsive & courteous in guiding us how to make corrections, & helped us get the thermostat set the way we wanted it. We enthusiastically recommend Climate Control to anyone who is looking for a reliable company to install a new HVAC system. And we plan on continuing with them for the maintenance of our new system- hopefully it will serve us well for many years to come!
I have had a maintenance contract with Climate Control for many years and have been pleased with their service. When I have had an HVAC issue they have always responded quickly and assisted me with the problem. A number of years ago I had a heating issue in the middle of the New Year's holiday. It was a day or two before they could remedy my problem but in the mean time they bought and brought me three electric heaters to keep me warm. More recently a crack was found in the heat exchanger of my 8 year old furnace. Recognizing my situation as a senior citizen on a fixed income they were able to obtain a free furnace for me from York and installed it free of charge. I have always found their office staff to be friendly and responsive, keeping me posted on arrival times and answering my questions. Their technicians are knowledgeable, pleasant and respectful.
My 20 yo furnace recently failed, so I hunkered down with my fireplace & space heaters, because I needed some time to learn about replacement options. (No panic buying"", was my promise to myself!) It was a real pleasure to work with Zack at Climate Control. Zack was thorough in viewing my existing furnace, AC & ductwork. (He very kindly suggested easy fixes to parts of my HVAC system that have been causing me, needlessly, to waste heat & cooling energy...& money, too. He saw things that other bidders missed or skipped over.) Zack was extremely knowledgeable, good at listening to my concerns & patient with my many questions. It was great to meet someone so committed to being helpful & so knowledgeable about heat pumps, as well as furnaces and AC's. Sincere thanks to Zack & Climate Control for getting me a quick & reasonable quote on trustworthy solutions to my furnace emergency.
The mechanics are great and did great work. The new furnace is amazing! The financial end of this company is another story. They lied to my disabled father with ms on ssi about the state of his furnace and did 1000$ dollars worth of pointless repairs that left him without heat no money and a broken furnace during a weeklong freeze and ice storm. This forced me to pay for a new furnace on top of the 1000$ dollars charged, and when they agree to refund a partial amount they again pressured me to sign a document with immediacy to get my dad heat during the ice storm and even thought I paid another 6000$ dollars for a new furnace for my elderly disabled father they still misled me about the final cost which left me short another 400$ with no food money during a blizzard after an acl surgery Thanks climate control
Climate Control will let you down when you need them most. They will not stand behind their warranty, and will view your crisis as a way to maximize profit instead of ensuring that you are taken care of in an equitable fashion. They sold me a Mitsubishi heat pump. I was new to Mitsubishi as a brand, and had a lot of questions. When I inquired about the warranty, they said the unit had a 10 year warranty. I asked "if anything breaks on this unit, In that period, will I need to pay anything?" The answer was a decisive "no!" . That was a lie. One that cost me $1800 before the second summer. Before the second summer started, the coil had a catastrophic failure. It took over 3 months to repair. That is not Climate Control's fault. I asked for assistance keeping my sleeping areas cool during the summer. I have 3 rooms upstairs. They gave me 1 undersized portable room AC for the whole upstairs. My main room is large, the unit ran 24/7, and would not cool the one room. Instead of standing by their warranty, they took the opportunity to charge me their full rate for 4 hours of work - $1,300 - although it took them about 2 hours to swap out the coil. When I disputed the charge, and tried to find a way for both parties to be satisfied, they refused to negotiate the issue. Instead , they just turned the bill over to collections. During the 3 months of Portland summer, I had incurred about $600 in extra costs to get through the summer (window AC, Fans, and utility costs). Find another vendor. I wish I had. ---- The warranty , as It was sold and told to me: They refuse to stand by what they SOLD ME - during the sales process. I would not buy an installed thing where when it breaks, I just get mailed a part. I was VERY specific with their salesperson. I asked, "this labor vs parts warranty has me concerned. Is the labor the work you did during this installation? " answer "yes" . "Let me be clear, if this unit breaks, will I have to pay ANYTHING to get it fixed?" The answe
Dean came out to look at furnace and diagnose what was wrong. The office got back super fast that the part was local and we got an appointment for repair in a very timely fashion. Dean came back for repair and did a fabulous job and they cleaned up everything. The whole team were friendly and communicated great with me. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you .
I originally had a different company come out to fix my furnace because it was blowing cold air. The other company tried to tell me the furnace was blowing carbon monoxide into my home and I could repair for $3,200 OR buy a new furnace for over $7,000. I called climate control to get a second quote and after explaining what the other contractor had told me, Dave at CC told me he was leery of the situation. I had the fire dept and gas company come check and they both said there was ZERO carbon monoxide. If it had not been for climate controls honest responses and advice, I’d be out thousands of dollars for nothing.
I've been using Climate Control for over 15 & recommend them to all who need HVAC services! Ian, my Tech, gave me great insight about the issue of how loud my system can be; I love to learn something new everyday, thanks Ian!!
I found Zachary Turner at Climate Control through the Electrify Now website because I was curious about options to transition to an all electric heating and cooling system. Zach took his time, gave me a ton of information explaining all my options, and even showed me how to use our current system more efficiently. He truly cared about making the smartest "green" choice that took into account what we already have, what's possible, and what the real costs were for us and for the environment. We actually inherited a heat pump system installed by Climate Control when we bought our house and that's still in good shape, and with the kind of amazing service and support that we got today, I will definitely stay with them when there are more updates or things to be repaired.
I had this company out to repair my dehumidifier, and they said they couldn't do it. I thought it was unethical to charge me for a service they could not do. They should not have come out of they can't provide the service.
UPDATE 11/2022: They continue to service my system and it continues to work great. Would recommend them! They were able to get someone out pretty quickly and he did a very thorough job of cleaning and testing my system, then taking care of the outside unit. Noticed a difference right away as I'm warm enough with the thermostat set lower
We have used Climate Control for over 15 years and they are always professional and courteous. They installed my current HVAC system including an air exchanger for my wife’s chemical sensitivities. I highly recommend them for both installation and maintenance. 10/21/22 Update: Ian McIntosh performed a superlative Winter PM. I like to understand the technical aspects and, when asked, he walked me through his process in great detail. Another professional job by Climate Control personnel.
On July 15, 2022 I placed a call to Climate Control and requested a repair on the air conditioner at one of my rentals. The repair was scheduled for July 29, two weeks later. The repairman told me that the dual capacitor was bad and the cost to replace would be $282, he then proceeded to tell me the total cost would be $492. The extra $210 is called a service fee. That sounded like a lot for a capacitor, which I know are not very expensive. I approved the repair. I was over a barrel, my tenant was without air conditioning for two weeks when the weather was very hot. I later learned that A dual capacitor is simple to diagnose because either the fan of condenser are not running. According to Angie and Home Advisor the average cost to replace a dual capacitor is $170 and takes less than a half hour. The very top should be $300. I called Climate Control to question the cost. I was told it’s primarily a matter of cost to do business and their prices are inline with the market. Needless to say I’m not pleased to pay so much for a simple repair.
I received service to repair HVAC in early July for which I gave them 5star review. Today I called and the male receptionist insisted that I am not an existycustomer and no record of my address, phone number or history of service. He was quite insistent. I was so frustrated in not being able to put in an order for service to look into my a/c is not bringing down the temp. I spent the last 3-4 hours looking for the receipt. I finally found it but it is after hours. The lady at the other end was so unhelpful. The technicians are great, the people who answer the phone is so unprofessional and not helpful. I guess, I will have to stand inline tomorrow am. 😤😤
My HVAC system did not work on one of the hottest day in Portland. I was desperate in finding a company to provide emergency services. After dozens of calls and unsympathetic and apatheric responses, I got an reassuring call from Climate Control staff informing me they will have a technician contact me the same day. I couldn't believe it. Shortly thereafter, Steve, the technician called and informed me of his estimated time of arrival. He called again to gave me a more firmed eta and arrived on time. He quietly asked the appropriate questions to help in the diagnosis, approached the problem, explained to me in detail the cause and proceeded to fix it. It is now fixed and I have found a reliable company to service all my hvac & heating issues. 10 out of 5 stars!!! Steve Rockelman, you are a credit to your company. I hope they treat you well.
