I hired HMS Plumbing to do some work on my home. I bought a new bathtub and they installed it and plumbed it in. This included redoing the drain and overflow. After they installed it, I noticed the overflow didn't look correct. I took off the cover and can see the rubber seal is sticking through the opening at the bottom, and the drain opening is too high. We had to cut into the wall behind the tub to verify the issue and can see light between the tub and seal, revealing a leak potential. I called and spoke to Terry, the owner and he said they would fix it; but would charge me for it. Why?! This was a service that should be covered under the first billing. If they plumb a drain, it shouldn't leak. He also explained that normally they don't take business for residential remodels and so took this job unknowingly. He said they only do commercial new construction and service. That doesn't make sense, since they had come over twice to do work at this point knowing it is a residential remodel. My review in regard to the lack of professionalism at HMS from the owner down, is that it can be improved. Customer service is lacking to state it bluntly and if our conversations would have been met with constructive resolution, this review would have a different emphasis. I was made to feel at fault for hiring HMS to do a job so I excused Terry and his team from coming back to my home to repair the poor workmanship and to finish the rest of the work needed.
Had my water heater go out over the weekend, so being I live within one miles from HMS Plumbing I called them first thing Monday morning. The lady took my number and said they would call me back. Here it is Tuesday at noon and they haven't called me back? I called HMS Plumbing and thanked them for not calling me back. She then apologized and asked for my name and number so she could let the owner know. She was very kind so no bad review on her part. Fortunately one of my coworkers recommended that I call Air Comfort Solutions. I like supporting Newcastle businesses but kind of hard if they don't want my business. Air Comfort Solutions gladly excepted my business and will be coming in from Norman to service me in Newcastle.
Called on a Saturday morning and had Nathan here by 9:30 am. He was courteous, well prepared and went right to work on the problem. Nicest repair man ever! Fixed the problem so air-conditioner would work for the weekend and was here first of the week with the new part! Cannot say enough about the follow up and work done by employees of HMS, from our repair man to the office staff!
Had another local group troubleshoot air conditioning and they said a full replacement system ($8000) was needed. Called HMS for second estimate and they isolated the issue and repaired for $92. We have been using them ever since for nearly three years now. Always prompt, always thorough, always polite, and always a reasonable and fair price. Nathan is the best!
I cannot recommend them enough!!! I’ve had them do 2 jobs for me and they were both done perfectly. The first job another well known Norman company quoted me $1500 “to start” which would take 10 hours. I called HMS and he did the whole job in 3 hours and charged $350. They’re so honest! I would never call another company.
Responded quickly and did a small, easy job at a reasonable price when I got the run-around and outrageous estimates from other plumbing companies. This is to say, they did a job for about 200 that roto rooter estimated over 1200.00. Will use again when needed and suggest you do as well.
