Contacted Michael and Son Services to get an estimate and potential work to install 50' of 1/2" flexible gas line from existing gas fireplace to new gas stove in kitchen. It's a straight run in 4' crawlspace. Should take a professional an hour at most to install and pressurize it for inspector. 75 feet of CSST (flexible gas line) at hardware store is $175. The fittings are $10 each. Worst case, $300 in material for this job. Was expecting $1000 ($1500 at most) estimate. Was quoted just shy of $5000. That's almost $100 per foot!!! When I balked at the price, he used the standard predatory salesman line of "gas is dangerous" line to try and make me feel more comfortable that I'm paying 5 times as much as I should...same when car dealerships try to overcharge you on brake pad installs. He then tried to sell me on a Michael and Son warranty for 10% off the bill...which would still leave it over $4000. I said no thank you but still had to pay the $74 for his time to come out for the estimate. Definitely would not recommend. If you do contact them, make sure you do your homework beforehand to have an idea how much you should be paying.
An extremely pleasant experience with technician Luis Rivera for my plumbing emergency. His expertise was very helpful to determine foreseeable issues in the future. The customer service was excellent. Will recommend his services to others.
Another excellent experience with Michael and Son. Matthew was extremely knowledgeable and explained what was happening with our French drain. We are very happy with his service and his expertise. I highly recommend Matthew and this company! Josh was AMAZING and so friendly! I have seen Michael's and Son but haven't used them. I'm very happy with the repair and will use them in the future. The technician, Stephen Eubanks was highly professional; knowledgeable; respectful; great customer service; displayed considerable concern/knowledge regarding electrical, technical, and other relative issues he found. With excellent clarity Stephen explained and showed me the problems found. Along with his company’s focus, Stephen’s overall performance as a technical subject matter expert increased my understanding re: technical and potential house issues which contributed to my inclusion of additional services for the HCA that I initially excluded. Stephen is an excellent technical worker!
Tremayne was an awesome service tech today. Would highly recommend him, and his knowledge. My family has a HVAC company but not here in Raleigh. Took a chance using Michael and sons, and Tremayne was Very professional, used shoe covers and was able to quickly determine some things that might be causing the very high humidity issue. I was also happy that I wasn’t required to sign a yearly service agreement, in order to have them clean the coils on my unit. I felt it was fairly priced and would Love to request Tremayne come the fall to do a cleaning of the coils again. 5 star review for Treymane and Michale and Sons.
I scheduled an appointment with this company because I had a unit down at an office condo. I had a long discussion with the person that called to schedule an appointment which included the fact that it was an office condo as well as what wrong with the unit. She said she was not a technician but would add the notes to the appointment she was scheduling. She scheduled the first available appointment for two days later between 10 and 12, and I received confirmation and a reminder about the appointment. They did not show up. At 12:30 on the day the appointment was scheduled (which was after the scheduled time for the appointment), I received a call to say that they don't service units in office condos. I would never recommend this company.
There are a lot of HVAC companies that claim to have 24/7 service in Raleigh but Michael & Son was the only company that was able to send a technician out to our home after hours. The tech, Daniel, was incredibly professional and efficient. I would definitely use them again!
Constantly having issues with my AC and heating unit since using this company. This seems like it’s by design and the prices for the fixes are high. Most recently I had a service call and I didn’t receive any confirmation before doing the work and no invoice. There was $389 charge to my credit card.
We weren’t getting air flow on the second floor, and Miguel from Michael and Sons came through and fixed everything same day and made sure all our ducts were working properly. Fast, professional, and friendly, I highly recommend.
I recently had the pleasure of going with Michael & Son Services. Upon arrival, Juan's professionalism was evident. He arrived punctually, wearing a neat and professional attire. His friendly demeanor and respectful nature made it comfortable to discuss my concerns and ask questions. He patiently listened to all of my plumbing-related issues and took notes to ensure that no detail was overlooked. As Juan began his inspection of my home's plumbing system, it became abundantly clear that he possessed a wealth of knowledge and expertise. He meticulously examined every component, identifying potential areas of concern and explaining his findings in a clear and concise manner. Juan's ability to communicate complex plumbing concepts in a way that was easily understandable to a non-professional. Overall, my experience with Michael & Son Services was outstanding, and I highly recommend their services. Their employees professionalism, expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. If you are looking for a plumber who is not only skilled but also goes above and beyond to deliver an excellent service experience, look no further than Juan. He is a true professional who takes great pride in his work, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him.
Miguel did an awesome job! It’s a holiday (July 4th) and he was quick to arrive when our AC was struggling and not keeping up with the 98 degrees weather. He got our unit /temperature heading back in the right direction! Thank you!
I've had a wonderful experience with Michael & Sons since I first hired them in September 2022. I had a huge leak due to bad plumbing work from an interior designer and Michael and Sons was very responsive and did immediate repairs to my home within the same day. I've been doing updates to my home and relied on Michael and Sons to give me fair and accurate assessments on what needs to be completed to keep my home in amazing condition. One of their best technicians, Frank Castaneda, is always on-time and shares his amazing knowledge with patience and grace. I will continue to use their services and would highly recommend using them if you have plumbing, heating and air needs for your home.
Tim was so friendly and quickly diagnosed the issue with our AC. He thoroughly explained what caused the AC to die and gave me great recommendations/options. He was also very friendly and understanding of our situation
Miguel with HVAC is terrific! I see why he is so highly rated. He was timely, professional, and knowledgeable. He diagnosed my condenser’s compressor issue within minutes and gave me a straightforward analysis of my options. We continue to use Michael & Sons because of their top notch service and communication. Tyler (Electrical) also stopped by with a moment’s notice to ensure I did not have any electrical issues. I appreciate them coordinating this issue to make sure we were taken care of properly!
The technician was nice, but your prices are extremely high just 2 years ago had the same service done 3 ceiling fans and 2 hallway lights were about that price I was quoted today, just 2 ceiling fans over $700!!! Can’t use you guys anymore. But again the service technician was polite and professional.
I had a water heater fail at 10pm on a holiday weekend Sunday night while on vacation. Set an appointment online and there was a tech here 12 hours later. 4 hours after that I had a new water heater and water lines at a very competitive price, with a service plan and extended warranty. I'm highly impressed with the quality and service and plan to have them as my go to service provider as long and I live in an area they service.
My AC went out and I called Michael & Son at 10:30 am on a Saturday. Tim was at my house by 12:30 that day. Unfortunately needed a new unit and a sales consultant was there by 3. Super professional and very polite and easy to work with.
Miguel was polite, professional, and explained everything he was doing along the way. Was at my house less than 90 minutes after I called! Highly recommend!
J’Mario Carter went above and beyond to help us replace our leaking hot water heater. We have called Michael and Son for every home emergency, we purchased and maintain our HVAC system with them as well. Wonderful team!
