Had Soderlin come out to evaluate my mini-split. The tech was extremely thoughtful in the evaluating the situation and just charged the service evaluation fee with some advice to do a simple fix. Really appreciated that he didn’t gouge me with what turned out to be a simple filter issue. 👍
My wife set-up an appointment to have an undermount bathroom sink bowl installed, to replace a sink bowl that had cracked. Joel arrived within the service window. It was immediately apparent that it was not work he wanted to do, for whatever reason. He informed me that it's a 'very rare' job...which is hard to believe as these are quite common. I had a replacement sink bowl purchased and ready to go. After pondering it a bit, he came back with a quote of $752. According to several contractor friends I'd spoken with, this is DOUBLE what the high-end cost for this job should've been. Joel noted that the job would take about 2 hours; it's was only sealing the sink to the marble and the reconnecting the pipes. So almost $400/hr for his time? I feel it was a straight-up swindle and he just inflated the cost so he'd walk out without any work and the $69 visit fee. I'm assuming this is a common practice with Soderlin, to inflate prices and then laugh all the way to the bank when they've conned the customer or walk away with $69 for 10 mins of poking around. We were scammed. I would caution working with this outfit, especially without any price range estimate before the service visit (which Joel said they don't do). Joe (Joel?) came out and fixed two things at our place and he was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They seem to be much more reasonably priced than other places as well. Highly recommend.
I called Soderlin Plumbing because they have been around South Minneapolis for years. From the first call, to problem solved, I was impressed. The issue was, I have had such horrible water pressure going to my outside water faucet for years. My sprinkler was only able to get about 3 feet high. Ken came over and assessed the issue within 10 minutes and recommended a solution. I agreed and he got to work. Ken was trustworthy and experienced. I am 100% pleased with the results and I no longer have sprinkler envy of my neighbors. Thank you so much Ken!
Service was great - Appointment requested by phone, good communication before appointment, professional quote and service from Ken after inspecting the problem, broken tub faucet fixed under 90 minutes. Thank you for fixing our basement shower! ✌️
Replaced my water heater. Personable, great service - in and out in a couple hours, and left everything clean and working.
Jeff fixed my plumbing issue quickly and started with the most simplest solution first which I really appreciated.
They installed a new water heater for me and initially it worked very well. After a few months it started getting flaky -- it warmed the water inconsistently, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, but usually lukewarm. I called and they sent someone out who admitted he didn't know anything about tankless water heaters and said that the problem was that all my showers and sinks had developed flow issues such that they didn't draw enough water to fully engage the heater. I've measured the flow and the sinks, at least, draw sufficient water that the heater should provide hot water.
Had a crack in our main drain pipe, and Soderlin was able to get there the fastest, and gave a helpful estimate with all the options for what could get fixed and replaced. They were on time to do the work and we're very easy to work with.
Jeff Johnson and his apprentice Ian came out during the Christmas week 2022 polar vortex and replaced a boiler for us and restored the heat! They were prompt, professional, and just good people! I highly recommend them!
We hired Soderlin Plumbing for our upstairs bathroom leak and repair. Our experience consisted of incompetent work, leaks, and attempting to bill us (twice) for work that was part of the original contract • Our new tub wasn’t properly vented upon installation. • Upon removal of the old vanity the sink drain needed to be relocated. We had plumber Ken return to do. We created an access through the main floor living room ceiling to re-route the drain and join it up with another upstairs bathroom drainpipe. (Since this wasn’t included in the original bid, we paid extra for this work.) • When scheduling the inspector, Ken told us to not let the inspector look at the tub drain (since it was a replacement there was no inspection needed on this work). He said it was done ‘correctly’ but keep the inspector looking at the sink drain and not the tub. • The inspector flagged the tub drain. • Ken returned to fix the issue and presented us with a $1,200 bill to fix what he didn’t do right. • My husband and I patched our living room ceiling and applied a labor-intensive Italian Carerra finish. • Soon afterward the living room ceiling began leaking at the joint where the 2 drains came together. • We fired Ken and had another plumber from Soderlin come out. Three holes were opened in the newly finished ceiling and was determined the ring around the joint wasn’t tight enough. • Immediately the blame game started saying it was the contractor (who did the ceiling) that caused the joint to leak. • My husband and I did the work and didn’t shove a 2x4 (that ran the length of the ceiling) under the pipe. The 2x4 in question had been there for years. • Jason in management insisted someone else caused the issue and refused to come and look at the 2x4 that was removed. He stood by his plumber Ken (who was the one who did a shoddy job on the tub ventilation and told us to not let an inspector look in that direction.) • We put this debate on the back burner and asked Jeff to come a
Soderlin's Jeff Johnson and Ian were awesome installing our new boiler. Their new piping is a work of art! They came early and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional. On top of that, Soderlin had the most competitive bid. Highly recommended.
If you are looking for ANY kind of plumbing work - save yourself a TON of grief, eliminate any guesswork and JUST CALL SODERLIN PLUMBING! Soderlin is the ONLY company I ever use and that's over 15 years total. JEFF JOHNSON from Soderlin came out and installed an additional exterior water faucet to my home AND ran a new gas line for my outdoor gas grill. "Ian" - an apprentice - did a masterful job assisting Jeff. Absolutely ( and no surprise to me) was an excellent, professional job on both projects and the finished work (outdoor appearance of the house) looks fantastic too. GUARANTEE: You call Soderlin for any and all of the services they provide and YOU will be SO GLAD you did. Save yourself time and grief...CALL SODERLIN!
The folks are Soderlin are amazing. Joel came out to check out a leak and some water pressure issues that we were having. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, laid out several options for fixes (long term vs. short term, variety of price ranges). We chose our fix and got on the schedule quickly. Joel came back and got the job done quickly and neatly. He walked us through all of the fixes and made sure everything was functioning before he left. Highly recommend this company and will be using again!
The plumber who stopped was personable and professional and I have no issues with him. My issue is that Soderlin agreed to do a job (clearing a clogged drain) that they were not equipped to do. After telling me their tools were not sufficient to clean the drain, I was given numbers of who to call and charged $69 for the service call. I made it clear what my issue was when I scheduled the appointment and they accepted the job. If they were not equipped to handle the job, why did they accept it and charge me to be in the same predicament I was in before they arrived?
I called up Soderlin because of the great reviews they had on Google and I was not disappointed. Jeff showed up in a snow storm and quickly diagnosed my issues and resolved them efficiently. He delivered excellent customer service and I will not hesitate to call Soderlin up in the future! I called up Soderlin again for a look at the gas line to my dryer. Justin came by and was super helpful. He got my issue fixed and even gave me great suggestions and thoughts for future work that might need to be done. I will continue reaching out to them for service! I continue to receive excellent customer service from the folks at Soderlin. They have installed air conditioning, fixed my kitchen sink, redone my gas line and installed my oven. I've been pleased every time I've worked with them.
Excellent service! They were one of the few available to diagnose our boiler issue and help us with a decision to replace or keep going. We did go with a different company that we were having a lot of work done that gave us a significant discount.
I highly recommend Soderlin. For several weeks our boiler kept intermittently shutting off. I called two other plumbing and heating companies and they couldn't figure out the cause. I called Soderlin and Jeff Johnson was able to diagnose the problem immediately and fix the boiler that day. It has been running great ever since. Jeff was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great service. Had my furnace die on me so had one of their guys come by and inspect it. He not only was thorough but explained what he was doing clearly and then when I needed service was able to do the replacement the very next day.
I have used Soderlin over the 20 years I have lived in my old house. They have come when I needed them and even in the middle of the night. Jeff recently came to repair toilet tank inner workings. He also replaced a leaky faucet. He was early, worked efficiently, cleaned up after, and he was pleasant, as they always are. I am moving so I will not have them service me anymore. I will miss the great service and work that Soderlin Plumbing have provided. They have always had great respect for customers, and they have treated me with the utmost dignity.
