I have been using Residential Heating and A/C for 20 years. I am a real estate broker and recommend them to all my clients for service, repairs and new installation of equipment. They are on time, great service and great pricing. From my experience yow will not be disappointed in using them.

Our furnace went out on a Saturday and we were out of town. Chris answered our call at 3pm on Saturday and walked us through all our options. He came out to the house Sunday to check everything out. He offered to bring heaters to plug in for the next 24 hours. He was very kind and knowledgeable. His team was out at 8am on Monday. They were professional and efficient. I would highly recommend this company.
In the course of a routine furnace inspection in Feb. 2023, the technician from Residential, Dane, informed me that the heat exchanger on my 13 year old Carrier furnace was damaged beyond repair, was producing dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and needed, by law, to be shut down. He provided a bid to replace the furnace. I said I needed to get a second opinion before investing $5,000+ in a new furnace. A second company confirmed the diagnosis and provided a repair bid only slightly less than the replacement cost bid from Residential. After consulting with several neighbors about their heating system replacements, I determined that the bid from Residential was competitive. Their install team came the next day and installed the new furnace. In the course of the installation, the electrician on the install team was able to identify a problem with the humidifer (attached to the old furnace and then re-used, attached to the newly installed furnace) that I had suspected for some time but was unable to get diagnosed correctly. After the new furnace was installed, the fan was running continuously and the humidifier leaked extensively the night after the install. I informed Residential and Dane returned quickly to investigate. He quickly found minor several adjustments that needed to be made and made them. It's never fun to have make quick decisions about major expenses like a new furnace, but I felt that Dane and Residential dealt fairly and provided excellent service at a competitive price.
I diagnosed my furnace as having a crack in one of the runners. Reached out to these folks. Renee was patient and great in explaining to me the process (mostly me griping about the diagnosis fee they charge, but it is understandable as they have to file the warranty paperwork/deal w disposal/etc). I forget who the tech was but he was professional and quick. My heat exchanger was just about to fall out of warranty so I'm glad we got it sorted out. It's been two years and the furnace is working great. Thanks again!
Residential has been my go-to for many years. Always clear and consistent communication combined with stellar installation standards. I wouldn’t trust my HVAC with any other firm.
Residential serviced my repair that they inherited from another provider, and ultimately they replaced it. The cost was very fair, and more importantly, they were easy to work with, responsive, fit it into my schedule, and even the city inspectors commented that the work was well done, plus they commented that Residential always does good work. Very pleased.
Huge thank you to Chris for coming out to diagnose and fix an issue with my furnace not kicking in. It turned out to be an issue with the thermostat needing to be replaced. He was kind to recommend a model and had it installed in no time. I was impressed with the overall service experience and so relieved to have my furnace working again! Feeling very grateful for the referral through a neighbor. I would absolutely call on these guys again for help in the future.
Initially helpful via phone as I was trying to diagnose the problem. When that method didn’t bear fruit a service tech was scheduled to determine the cause of the alarm code. Within minutes the furnace was declared fouled and shut down. The next day a new furnace was installed. Very efficient and professional team. Also assisted getting the new WiFi thermostat on line.
Had an emergency situation at my rental property in sub zero weather and with no one available for same day service call, I was lucky enough to be able to get a hold of these guys Chris was amazingly kind, helpful, and saved the day by troubleshooting and fixing the issue over the phone directly with my tenant. I’m beyond grateful for his professionalism, knowledge and for going above and beyond to help. Highly recommend!
Dane was very through in explanation k everything and what furnace would be sufficient for us. He also got it for installation the next morning, which is good as our old furnace went out just before the artic air was set to come in.
As both a home owner and a Real Estate Advisor I have have dozens of experiences with Residential Heating and Cooling. Their customer service is unmatched! The only time I had a less than stellar experience with a employee who showed up to service our furnace and refused to do the work (he also quit the next day apparently), they were quick to get me back on the schedule with a discount for my inconvenience. The have also had very fair pricing compared to other options! I will continue to use and recommend them!

On a Thursday morning @3am my 19 year old furnace finally broke down. My furnace was “red tagged”. I had assumed i would not have heat until the next week at best. I wanted to support the local businesses and called Residential. I talked with Renee at the end of the day and she was super helpful and went above and beyond to line me up for an install the next day (8am on friday). The next day bright and early they showed up to look at the install. Within short while the installers arrived. Everything went great and the entire team was great. This entire situation went very well and would recommend them for sure. 5 out of 5
Dane from Residential Heating and Air Conditioning is an excellent service technician. This was our first time using this HVAC company. I'll start with a thank you to Residential for sending Dane our way. He was courteous and very patient. Overall, the quality of the service call was reflected in Dane's on-time arrival and in his ability to communicate and advocate on our behalf (read on). I ask a lot of questions. He answered every one. We have been in our house for one year. New to the Twin Cities, we asked around and chose Residential for a winter furnace inspection (furnace was newly installed in 2021 by a different company) Dane was concerned that a part under warranty was running way too hot. He immediately called the office for approval to order a replacement part from the manufacturer (affirmative). At the end of visit, Dane asked if we had any other questions related to our HVAC system. Without question, I'll use Residential Heating again.
Dane was professional, on time and gave me lots of great information about my new system! This is the second house we have installed heating and a/c units in with this company. Highly recommend them!
After being referred to Residential Heating from a few family members I decided to reach out for a quote. Our 37 year old furnace kicked the bucket just before winter and we needed a replacement fast. Residential Heating came in with an affordable quote and was able to schedule the installation for just two days later. The installation was painless and professional - one main technician and three assistants (who came and went after performing their specialized tasks) got the whole job done in under six hours. Now our aged campfire of a furnace has been replaced with a high-efficiency model and we couldn't be more happy. When our aged A/C unit kicks the bucket they'll certainly be getting another call.
