I would like to thank Doug for being so prompt, curtios and honest about what was wrong with my air unit. He also was very knowledgeable about my airconditioner, within minutes he had detected the trouble and took care of it. Doug is a life saver. My family and I moved into a house that had terrible supply and ventilation in the 2nd story. We soon discovered it was because there were no return ducts upstairs. We couldn’t believe our home inspector missed it. In any case, we reached out to several companies—all of whom were only interested in selling us a mini split system for upstairs, which was way out of our budget. Other HVAC companies said they would put return ducts up there but that it wouldn’t solve our problems, and they quoted it so high that it was more expensive than the mini split they were proposing. No one was willing to do it for us. Then we contacted Doug. He saved our summer and our home. My wife was pregnant with our second child, and we were in crazy nesting mode. Doug got it done in just a couple days. We no longer had the stuffy, dead, humid air collecting upstairs. Not only did he find a way to route return vents upstairs, but he also found a way to add extra supply—all without doing a kickout, so we didn’t lose space in our already small home. He was able to stick the ductwork inside an existing wall—something no other company was willing to try. He also reworked our duct system at the basement level for increased airflow and comfort. I cannot recommend Doug enough. He is a miracle worker.
Doug fixed a slight gas leak in our hot water heater and also taught me a few things as well. He is very knowledgeable and does excellent work. I highly recommend his company.
Doug from American Temperature Control is great!!! I would highly recommend his services. He came out at 7:30 pm on a Tuesday night, for a dead furnace, and had a new one installed the next day. He is trustworthy, reliable, hard working and has great pricing. He educated us to assist in choosing the right system for our home. We are so grateful for his service!!
Doug Krahl from American Temperature Control has regularly serviced our home for our HVAC needs and he's always been great. Recently, he really went above and beyond the call of duty. We discovered water in our basement floor vents and called several different people based on recommendations of others, and each came with a different opinion and resolution. We then called Doug, and while this fell outside of his HVAC duties, he took it upon himself to make some calls and do some research. Not only did he discover the problem and propose a solution (none of which had been proposed by the previous "experts"), but he also executed the labor intensive solution. It could have been very easy for him to say early on, "This is not my job," and he would have been right. It wasn't his job, but he never took that approach. He has a very smart, engineering mind; he is always up on the latest in the HVAC world; he is trustworthy, and he cares. I was beyond impressed with his willingness to help us and go the extra mile for us. Actually, with all the manual labor required, it was more like a marathon. His solution proved to be the right one as it solved our problem.
I was told the part installed cost $334 dollars for a small board. I said you have to be kidding and I proceeded to get a speech about how much parts cost. My wife checked it out and found out you can by that part for less then one third the cost that we were charged. I sent an email asking for an explanation but no response. The other odd thing was the original call was poor airflow. Turned out my filter was clogged but I was getting heat and a/c. As you can see by the photos, this confirms my review.
I called Doug last night, on Black Friday no less, he called me back within 20mins. I had my furnace go out with tenants living in my Townhouse. I needed someone quick! Doug promised to check it out first thing the next morning. He had to replace a part and did a cleaning as well. All is warm and back to running smoothly thanks to Doug! He gave me some tips on the right filters that would work best for my property. Thank-you Doug! I will keep your number as a permanent reference for any future issues that may arise.
It was 11:00 PM on a cold Friday night and after calling three other contractors who advertised 24/7 emergency service, American Temperature Control is the ONLY one who answered the phone. Others said they'd get back to me and did------at 9:00am the next day. Doug came out, fixed my problem and got my heat back on. I thought his service and response was great and his prices reasonable. I confess I had never heard of American Temperature Control before, but I'm keeping his card and passing it around. I'd not hesitate to call him again if needed. Nice and honest guy.
Really happy with the service I got from Doug. Not only did he come out the same day I called, but he went above and beyond with fixing my furnace. Don't waste your time, just call Doug.
Doug is an HVAC scientist! He installed a chimney liner, tuned my furnace, hooked up a humidifier and pointed out a lot of ways that I could improve the airflow through my home. He explained what he was doing during every repair and was extremely knowledgeable about anything HVAC. The best part about American Temperature Control is that I saved over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS over other quotes for the chimney liner by itself (not including the tune up and humidifier). Even with the furnace work and humidifier Doug saved me over a grand! Thank you Doug!
Excellent service! I called at 5 pm when water heater went out and they were willing to come out that night to replace it. When they came out the replacement was quick and they were knowledgeable about how to keep your home working more efficiently. We were even told how to maintain our new water heater. I am definitely returning again.
This was the easiest experience we've ever had with any service we've had done in our home. We first used American Temp Control for a vent cleaning when we first bought our house, and then we when discovered mold we called these guys back. The whole job was complete in 2 days and when it was done Doug sat down and showed us before and after pictures, as well as video of the mold mitigation being completed. The difference was night and day. We also had our attic weatherized while the mold was being taken care of. Highly recommended and we are so excited to have a healthier attic!

American temperature control did an amazing job installing my furnace and sealing my duct work. The science that Doug brings to HVAC is exceptional. Not only did I receive a quote, I received educattion. Very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. The work performed saved me well over 100 dollars a month in energy bills and the comfort that we receive on our second floor of our 110 year old house is bar none. I highly recomend American Temperature Control for all my HVAC needs. Thanks again, simply the best!
Doug just did an energy audit on my house. He handled himself very professionally. He was able to demonstrate to me many areas in my house where I could improve the energy efficiency. I am a retired handy man and I thought my house was in good shape. He explained all the areas in a way that I could understand. I will likely do much of the work myself but when I get to the point that I need a professional Doug will be the one that I call.
I recently hired Doug from American Temperature to replace the furnace and AC at my next house. (He already replaced the furnace, AC, and hot water heater at my previous house and maintained them for years.) As always, his work was great. He also shared all kinds of great information about ways to make my house my efficient, helped me with the rebate paperwork, and even helped my wife program the new thermostat. Great job!
