Based on my experience with this outfit on two different occasions and for both commercial and residential jobs, it seems to be hit or miss. On one good sized commercial job, they did 90 % of the work in a very professional and efficient way. On a residential emergency, I needed to find another company because they were not sufficiently staffed.
I have no complaint about the technician. He did a fine job and diagnosed the problem and repaired it. My complaint is concerning their exorbitant prices. Our A/C was not working and the technician diagnosed that we needed a new fan motor for our inside unit. This part was covered under warranty by the manufacturer. I was only responsible for labor. The technician was able to install the new part in an hour and it cost us over $450 just for labor alone! This was including our 20% discount we received for having a service agreement with them. If we did not have a service agreement, it would have been over $120 for a diagnostic fee plus over $550 for labor alone! From start to finish, the technician was at our house for 1 hour 30 minutes. When our service agreement is completed, I will not be renewing and will find another A/C company. I did call their company to complain and spoke to the manager who told me that it is what it is and that they operate off of flat rate pricing.
Just the facts. I called to set up an appointment to have my A/C checked. They wanted to sell me a contract with them before they would came out. I questioned why I needed a contract when i had never experienced their service, but they assured me I would love their work. The compressor on the air conditioner was broken. The cost would be $1900. Within the range of the job with parts included. I contacted Trane and made sure the parts were under warranty since the unit was only 2 years old. The parts were covered and were sent to them for no charge. When they arrived after a week and 1/2 they informed me of that the charge was still $1900. I was then told that the job of installing the parts was very extensive and that was why the cost was so high. The man was here for an hour and a half and finished the job. That comes out to $950 an hour to install parts that were under warranty. I spoke with the manager at the company, I was told that if I didn’t like the charge they would just leave and I could call someone else. Since I live in Florida and the temperature was around 85° and I had no air conditioner for a week and a half, I decided to let them go ahead and do the job. I would deal with the outrageous charge later. Since then I’ve also contacted the Better Business Bureau, whom they are not covered by. The rating was a D-. So now I have an air conditioner that does work, a bill that was twice what it should be and another visit in six months for a contract I didn’t want, but they told me in would love their service and the contract was a good deal. Do your research before you call, make sure that their estimate is within the normal range. Lesson learned.
We have been using All American Air for many years. let me tell everyone, they are wonderful., trustworthy. From the moment you call to your service tech, excellent. Everything is explained to you about your a/c in a way you can understand. in fact our daughter just bought her first home, and we told her about All American Air and she signed up, and is getting the same great service. Plus they give back, the owner Steve Chapman is charitable, that means a lot, plus showing THE RED, WHITE, and Blue! Great job to all
As a yearly maintenance customer, I received my visit this week. As an FYI, The technician called me out to the garage to inform me of a "dangerous Situation" (his words). Seemed there were screws that were not tightened at the bottom and the ceiling apparatus was not tucked into the ceiling. Since we do not go near this unit because we are not AC-informed, this means that the technician from our last yearly visit in 2022 left this undone. Just wanted you to know this in case this was not put into the report that the technician was sending in.
Service personnel (Jose, and his coworker, whose name I apologize escapes me at the moment but begin with a D) Did excellent work and we’re most courteous!
Outstanding customer service and my tech Nick was professional and job fixed within minutes. I highly recommend. They go above and beyond.
They failed to notify me of the cost of the service they provided and without my signature or OK they charged my credit card.I called to dispute the amount they were going to charge and Becky never returned my call.Don't use this business!!!
We have had service from All American Air for 26 years and have depended on them for all needs regarding replacements and protection thru Preventive Maintenance Agreements. Excellent technicians and office staff are always very kind and helpful whenever a need arises. Highly recommend them!! Ray and Mary
Came out quickly, fixed my heating on one of the coldest days I can remember.
HVAC system replacement. From Jordan in sales to Alex & Scott on the install- professional, personable & answered all my questions which resulted in a beautiful install. Technicians Alex & Scott are seasoned pro's who obviously take pride in their work & it shows. Showed up on time & did a superb job, cleaned up afterwards, explained the operation of the new system & were gone! Easy peasy! Would highly recommend without reservation.
This is Sue Scriber. I have called repeatedly, techs have sent pictures, and still nothing. You guys put in a new A/C unit for me almost 2 years ago and tore up my new hardwood floor. Twice someone was going to come and look at it and both times were no shows. And I stayed home and waited! Calls have gone unanswered for TWO YEARS! I don’t want a new floor, just the boards replaced, which I have and have told you! I’m about to leave a scathing review and tell EVERYONE I know about it. And show them the damage. I’m a very dissatisfied customer! I will not be using you anymore and hopefully my friends won’t either.
Is Steve Chapman's flooded my house years ago And today one of his workers in a Steve Chapman's Van intentionally tried to run me off the road and the road and flipped me out right after.... Horrible service from the company but also horrible people working for the company including Steve himself. Go anywhere but here...
David Florence was very professional. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Thanks man! Its hard to find people that actually care.
Use to be great, I think they got to big, now they can't get to you if you break down and throw out crazy prices like 1200 for air duct cleaning. Steer clear.
We called to get an estimate on a broken AC unit, and the man that came to give us the estimate was asking for $700 to replace the motor when the problem was just a frayed wire from the fan. Dishonest and unreliable prices. Great service All American Air! 👎
Very bad experience with this business. I purchased a home in St. Augustine two months ago (July 2022). All American Air had installed the A/C system in 2011 and has been providing annual preventative maintenance service for the 11 years since it was installed. Six weeks after purchasing the house, I came home to find water leaking from my bathroom ceiling. The water was coming from the A/C unit in the attic. It turns out that the drain pipe was clogged, even though All American Air had performed the maintenance service only 3 months earlier. Now granted, this is a very common problem, and it is possible that the line became clogged soon after the service visit. However, upon further inspection, I discovered that both of the float switches connected to the drainage system were not working. These switches are designed to detect a leak and shut off the system before it overflows and causes damage to ceilings below, which is what I experienced. They are an extremely important component of A/C systems, especially those where the air handler is located in the attic, above the living space. Anyway, I called a different A/C company to come and investigate further. They confirmed that both switches were not working. It turns out that they were wired incorrectly and, more importantly, the control wires for these switches were not even connected inside the unit!! See the invoice from this company (Glacier Air - highly recommended!) that provides evidence of these deficiencies. The inoperative float switches should have been checked and repaired during the service visit performed by All American Air three months ago. The manager at All American Air insisted to me that this had been done. This is simply not true - there is no way these switches could have been working because they were not wired into the unit! All American Air is the only company that has been servicing this A/C for the past 11 years, so somewhere along the line the disconnected switches should
What a disappointing and awful experience. I had a new system installed by this company 3 years ago and spent quite a bit of money. Its been a nightmare ever since. There were many service calls culminating in the replacement of major parts, which costs me several thousand dollars in labor. No one wants to take responsibility and do the right thing. Even more frustrating when no one returns phone calls!
I am new home owner in the St Augustine area and this company was recommended to me by the previous owner. I purchased a service contract for the maintenance of the unit. After some miscommunication, the technicians came out to service my unit as scheduled. They were on time, professional, efficient, friendly, and answered all of my questions regarding the unit. I would recommend this company for your AC needs and services.
Aside from how expensive they are, we've had no problems with the technicians who come to our home for nearly 2 decades. For the most part they've been pleasant, thorough, polite & capable. The problem we have with Steve Chapman AAA is their office staff. I'm not sure why the person who answers the phones can't schedule your appointments. More often than not the person who answers the SCAAA phone tells you they can't help you, that you need to talk with someone else & then they disconnect you in the transfer. Why are customers (DIS!) connected 2 out of 3 times you try to switch over to a certain staff member? Is it deliberate? Do you *want* those calls to be disconnected? We call Steve Chapman AAA about 2 or 3 times a year & this happens 2 or 3 times every year. No exceptions. I've checked our phone logs for SCAAA & virtually each 1st call is followed by another call shortly after that. This is an irritating inconvenience. Second or third time calling is not always a charm with SCAAA, either. Our last interaction, it took 2 calls *from them* & 4 calls *from us* to schedule an appointment. Doesn't this seem excessive? Also? Why do *some* office staff who answer your phone require ALL your details - name, address & number before (DIS!) connecting you while other office staff just switch right over to voice mail or (DIS!) connect with no questions asked? Second time I called today, all I needed to say was "hello, I'm a customer returning Anne's* call, may I speak with her?" & was transferred/disconnected with no questions asked. The 3rd time, I was pressed for details before being transferred/disconnected. The 4th time, I was given the 3rd degree *again* before being switched over to voice mail (with success! Yay!) This inconsistency is a pet peeve of mine. This goes beyond basic phone etiquette. Basic phone etiquette is connecting calls seamlessly. Yes, sure, mistakes happen - but *every* time? And how about this? if I've called
