I have had great experiences with the Cooler company. In 2018, we had them install a swamp cooler and all the duct work for it -- they did such a great job at a great price that we called them out to do the full HVAC system install for a renovation in 2023. Everyone - but particularly Grayson - has gone above and beyond on a really complicated project. They've shown up at the last minute to help with ducting issues, everything has been reasonably priced, and Grayson and his whole crew are just incredibly thoughtful and responsive. Can't say thank you enough to Grayson and the whole team -- highly recommend you work with these folks!
This company installed a swamp cooler on our roof, and they charge $500 to turn it on (wildly expensive). Last year they shut it off for us and the worker was incredibly unprofessional yelling into his phone for a great deal of time on our property. When he finally left we went to the outside faucet to see that he took the splitter possibly in his frantic state, but we didn’t want to deal with them anymore or have them back so we chalked it up as a loss. To turn it on this summer we had a friend climb up there to find both splitters are actually gone. Our house is three stories high, and me, my friend and the guy from this company are the only ones who have been up there. It would be a good business model to take the pieces needed to turn it on so someone would maybe think they would have to call the original company back out. They will never get our business again.
Very good service and got in immediately after a cancellation- completely cleaned up old materials and servicemen were very client-focused!
I just purchased an investment property in the Denver outskirts and need to replace the HVAC system. My point of contact with The Cooler Company was a smart young woman by the name of Tonya Risher. I was delighted to see what is assumed to be a generally male dominated industry hiring women as estimators/sales people. She is very professional, knowledgeable and sincere. I will definitely recommend her and this business to my friends, neighbors and colleagues.
We needed the float valve on an evaporative cooler adjusted. Despite a long wait list they were able to it our service call in in only a couple of days. From the time of making appointment through the service call the customer service and communication was first rate. The technician, Andrey, arrived early, fixed the problem and explained maintenance issues to consider in the future. Very happy with the Cooler Company.
Hooked up swamp cooler incorrectly; left water line hooked up for winter and line busted; we had to buy new $200 water line; didn't reconnect correctly, machine will only run on low now; called 2 times, employees refuse to take responsibility. woof.
If you look through a number of the reviews for this company, you'll see a number of things stand out. I'll summarize them here and tack on my experience as well. Pros: The units they install do great work. It's a great product at a reasonable price. Cons: Anything involving working with the company itself, especially if something goes wrong. We had a new unit installed at the end of last year (August 2022). When it came time to shut down the cooler for the season, we tried several times to pay The Cooler Company to come out and service our new cooler and get it shut down properly for the year. They very insistently deflected and refused to get us on their schedule, and instead just directed us to watch their youtube video for fall shutdown. We had a newborn, and I really didn't want to get on the roof, but eventually we had to just do it ourselves to avoid damage to the system from freezing temperatures while it was still primed. I'm fairly handy, and it's really not _that_ hard to service these machines. I followed all of the instructions in the one video they provide (which is for a model they no longer sell), and thought everything would be fine. Fast forward to spring of this year (2023), and low and behold the unit refuses to fill with water, no matter what I try while getting it turned on for the season. After doing some debugging, I determined that the solenoid valve was dead. Since everything was less than a year old, we called to get a technician out to thinking it would be covered under warranty. As it turns out, if they don't shut down your unit in the fall, they void your warranty entirely. Funny that they don't mention that when they don't allow you to hire them to service the units in the fall. I refuse to give any more money to a company that treats customers this way, so I'll be sourcing replacement parts online instead of buying them for 3x markups from The Cooler Company.
Tanya with the Cooler Company is fantastic! My wife and I were looking to replace our evaporative cooler as they all tend to rust out every 5 to 7 years. This was our third one and decided we were tired of replacing them. We found the Cooler Company through a good friend as she highly recommend them. Tanya came out and did a thorough inspection of our attic and old evaporative cooler. She recommended places to run ductwork and the benefits. To make a long story short, we are having the Breezair system installed. Lori at the front desk taking care of scheduling has been great as well! Give them a try as you will not be disappointed.
Called them in to replace a damaged Solenoid. They charged me $159.00 for a plastic part that is widely available for $66.00. This was our first service call after installation. They are extremely expensive, it worked out to be about $300.00 per hour. No complaints though on their workmanship.
They are always on time, super professional and their prices are very competitive.
they installed a swamp cooler at our house. had to call back 3 times over 2 weeks, because they left the job unfinished and still expected full payment. the new vents they added are now completely falling out of the ceiling. went on the roof for the first time to cover the cooler, and the plastic casing around the cooler wasn’t set in place correct. now it’s warped from the sun, and i can’t get it to sit flush. it was also full of dirt from what i assume was the top having a huge gap after not being put in place. found their trash thrown in my gutters. glue is all over the roof in random places.
The Cooler Company replaced our evaporative cooler in 2021 and we were impressed with how efficient and professional they were. They clearly explained our options and the process. They were able to put in the new unit quickly and we've loved it. When our furnace died last week, we decided to call The Cooler Company to repair it since we were so happy with their previous work. They spent a significant amount of time trying to diagnose the problem and were upfront that the cost of repair was going to be a significant portion of replacement - and still might not fix the problem. The furnace was 20 years old, so we decided to replace it - which they were able to do only two days later! But I was most impressed by Gordie and Tyler when they came out with the new furnace. Tyler stopped to ask about an oddity, rather than just slapping the furnace in and going on their way. Turns out our house had no return air ducts and was in fact sucking in air from just above our gas water heater - a pretty scary thing! I was impressed again when Gordie called Grayson to get a second opinion on how best to fix the issue. I always say that only the smartest people know when to ask questions and ask for help. In the end, we got a furnace that will work for our house, a return air supply and some safety issues addressed. These guys did a TON of work and insisted on making sure it was right!
We have a 50 year old boiler that heats our three bedroom condo. It has been producing less and less heat over the last few years, and several plumbing companies have glanced at it and said it had to be replaced. So I decided to have a bunch of people come out and give me estimates to replace it. The Cooler Company came first. The gentleman they sent (I don’t like naming even wonderful people-privacy for them) came in and immediately made it clear that he knew his business, and oh boy can he talk boilers! Hired! To my great relief, he has been able to repair the old workhorse for a small fraction of what replacement would have cost. Everybody understands the visceral terror of facing a $15-20k home repair. What a gift it is to have found a company that is honest about what is needed.
Fair prices, great work and good customer service! Would use again in the future!! My wife had never been happier in our house than with our new furnace!
Be aware that swamp cooler maintenance actually performed is not what is shown in the videos. Be sure to clarify what exactly will be done ahead of time. We could have saved $120 with another company for the exact same service.
Have used this company for years beginning with new heating system, and air conditioning , as well yearly maintenance Great company and great service , always prompt, staff very knowledgeable
They're gentleman that came and did the repairs was very nice helpful and made it affordable. The billing seems to be a problem and a little confusing with two different people calling me.
I would check twice on the price for the parts they are telling you need to fix or replace and considered shopping around. I was in a pinch to get my swamp cooler working because of the heat but I was charged $185 for a part that was $35-$50 online. Was told that it was because of the supply chain issues and that is what their distributor was charging them.
I got 4 quotes and the Cooler company was the most reasonable, the most responsive and they did a fantastic job on my AC condensor relocation. There was no upsell and Gordie did a fantastic and professional job on the work. I couldnt be happier that i used them. They are coming out next week to service my furnace and I may even talk to them about a evaporative cooler.
The professionalism of the installation of a new furnace and air conditioner seemed satisfactory. I paid for each installation when completed. I had several conversations with woman in office that I had not paid for one of the installs. I paid the installer on completion of each install who recorded it on his tablet computer. This took a couple of months to resolve with copies of my checks. I was also told then that someone would come back out in about a year to make sure everything was working okay. No one ever came. The installed humidifier has never worked to the setting on the thermostat. After several calls to speak with the project manager, I was finally told that he had retired on my last call. The woman took all of my information and I was told she would pass it on to xxxxxx when she returned to the office. It has been several days and no call yet. One more attempt today. if that fails, I will file a Better Business Bureau complaint. This is not a reputable company. Avoid!
