What a terrible experience that resulted in a no show with no communication. I called about 20 minutes into my 2 hour window, and the person said the technician just left and should be on their way. I called once again an hour into it, no answer, then I call after my window, no answer. I leave a voicemail saying they didn't make their window. They finally call back and said they'd try to find a different technician to get it fixed on that day, but then they stopped picking up their phones altogether when I would call for a status update. Never called back or showed. What absolutely terrible customer service. They also charge $100 more to winterize and dewinterize swamp coolers than competitors.
They went under new management, I believe, and it's been amazing! It's woman owned now and they also took great care of me!
They came to fix my Furnace then a few days later was not working. we have a year warranty but they will not return a call or an email. I have called twice a day for week with no response. I wanted to use them as they were local but I DO NOT recommend.
I worked with Altitude a few weeks back. It wasn’t cheap and completely stopped working a few weeks later. I’ve tried to reach them many times without a single call back. I would advise going somewhere else in the future.
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with Altitude Comfort Heating and Air. We called to have our swamp cooler repaired, they were able to come that day and said they can fix it. 30 minutes after the repair, we had water overflowing on our roof nonstop - we had to shut everything down. I called immediately, sent texts, left messages to both the woman who worked on the unit as well as the business. I've continued to reach out, no one has ever responded. It's 95 degrees and we still have a broken system, after paying almost $500 for the 'repair'. There are so many better options out there - it may be why this business was the only one who had availability. Save yourself the headache, frustration and the money, this business is terrible.
I have tried to like them but at this point must say Beware! AC replacement started out good, price was right and Doug seemed efficient on the phone. Installation done during cold weather, they had to come back in warmer weather to finish and didn't. Talked to Doug at least a dozen times and got the perpetual run around, eventually he stopped answering my calls and will not return messages left. Money paid for the work not done should be refunded. We did use his Tech- Amanda to finish the job on her own time. Paid her directly- She is AWESOME, a talented tech for sure. Doug- why wont you call me back- seems to be a common thread in the reviews.
I’m sure the techs may be great based on the reviews but never got further than the initial point person, Doug. Called him at the beginning of the week and was given the run around all the way through Saturday. Gave up half the week to stay at home and wait for a tech with last minute or no updates on rescheduling issues. The tech that was scheduled yesterday hurt his back which is understandable but we were told he was back on the job today and waited for him to come “just after lunch” today. Ultimately ended up being screamed at by Doug for telling him I’m coming here to review because there were no solutions from him and we’re now mid afternoon, no ETA updates and nothing concrete as far as true timing, while I’m doing the follow up. He suggested we text him when we’re on our way back home. My instinct is not to rush home to experience the same issue and we’re not your friends, we’re booking a service, why can’t we schedule a time and stick to it. When I say screamed at, no one should be yelled at like that, so this absolutely needs to be documented here. Also my first Google review of any kind for any business, so that should tell you plenty. Spend your efforts looking for a reliable company so you don’t end up on here as well.
Tried to reach them through phone number and their website and did not get a call back until 3-4 days later. They took my information and told me their dispatch would call me within a few hours. I never got a call and called them back the following day. Once again, I was told that "dispatch would call this afternoon". I have yet to receive a call and it has been a week. I understand that it is busy season, but I can't even get a appointment set up.
Swamp Cooler Maintenance - A very pleasant experience. Amanda was on time and very professional. She took the time to explain the process that she would be performing and answered all my questions (as a 1st time owner of a swamp cooler). Highly recommended.
I’ve been meaning to leave this review for a long time. Between selling a home and moving, and then covid, it just always got away from me. Anyway, we had Altitude out a few years ago when our heat went out, on Christmas Eve-Eve of all days. Turned out some sensor died. It was over $700. Sucked to pay but we felt fortunate we were able to pay it. A few weeks later, we were cleaning up our Christmas decorations outside and found the check we wrote... neatly folded and tucked in a wreath on our patio. I never noticed that it didn’t clear. I don’t know if they just waived it or maybe the technician paid it himself… not sure. But either way such an amazing surprise. The service was worthy of a 5-star review anyway, they came out same day and were courteous and professional. Then to surprise us with a Christmas gift like that… just amazing. Thank you!
Amanda was really quick to address issues we discovered with our HVAC (water leaks around furnace and from a nearby pipe, error message on the humidifier) and got everything in working order quickly. Super helpful, efficient, and pleasant! Always appreciate how responsive Altitude has been for us. Thank you.
I had called Doug for some repairs and maintenance on my units. Amanda was available the next day for service. She was extremely professional, arrived on time, told me exactly what needed to be repaired and provides a fair estimate. Thank you so much I will definitely recommend.
Amanda Murphy showed up and was very professional and explained everything to me. She worked on my heater and it took her all of 30 minutes to find the issue and repair it. I am grateful for her help and will definitely reach out to her for these services again!
I really wish I could give this company and their staff more than 5 stars. Another company in town had refused to honor their service and parts warranty and literally hung up on me when I called to tell them the furnace was not working. Altitude Comfort Heating and Air's professionalism, care and speed was a refreshing experience. They replaced the system, worked through some challenging issues in challenging times and kept me informed throughout the process. They truly went above and beyond and over a weekend no less. I HIGHLY recommend them to all!
Great Customer service. Ask for Amanda!!! She is professional, knowledgeable, respectful and followed up after the job was done. Altitude is very lucky to have her as a technician.
Be careful!!! One of the employees was not being covid safe, tried to touch my sister for no reason (tell me why any employee is trying to hug people over there water heater? and walked around the house without asking and used the bathroom For 15 minutes. Then when the issue wasn’t fixed the manager/owners ghosted the customer and basically stole their money. Wasn’t cheap and when a new company was called they said we were over charged for the part and service for what needed to be done. Don’t let your family alone in the situation and be careful for this scam!!!
Altitude Comfort Heating & Air will be receiving all my business from now on because of their technician Amanda. She was professional, knowledgeable, and was able to fix our problem in a timely manner. If you need any repairs or maintenance, don’t over think it, call this company but make sure you ask for Amanda!
Our furnace was making the noise.Amanda replaced the inducer motor on the unit She did a very good job. Amanda explained her diagnostic so we didn’t feel intimidated. She responds quickly to the texts or phone calls.
Update 2021:. Made me feel important. Talked about having a rattling noise and they got me on the schedule today! UPDATE with Cam: He came out a day early!! In the evening as the sun was setting. He thought we needed a recharge but instead found the valve that was causing the problem, essentially blocking the cooled air from coming in the house. IT WAS THE SIZE OF A pen point! seriously!! And he fixed it nearly in the dark. We'll choose this company when we replace our unit, definitely! July 2020: talked with Joel to get another price on having a technician come out and check why our A/C couldn't keep up with the heat. A place was coming out for $169 to do a 12 point inspection but no actual cleaning or advising. Joel had me test out my A/C for the entire day until I called to follow up with what the A/C was up to by noon the following day. He advised me on how to better run my A/C and saved me an expensive waste of a 12 point inspection. Turns out opening windows at night makes it harder for the A/C the following day!! Who knew!?
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Whatever you do, do not use Altitude for any service. We are now dealing with a very poorly and incorrectly installed evaporative cooler. The company we hired to take a second look at the horrible installation of this unit will not even work on it because they don't want to take on the liability of just how poorly installed it is. This company does not respond to our calls, they do not act professionally on the phone. A few of their service techs are nice, but this company should not receive any more business.
