A technician came out Monday 7/3 on an emergency call. AC went out in AZ. Holiday weekend, extremely hot! It was diagnosed as a compressor inoperable. Under home warranty, 4 years old. Never given an estimate to replace, suggested to contact the builder to replace. Got the runaround for 3 days to find out any HVAC company can warranty the part, but you have to pay for labor and other expenses. Turns out, it was a busted coil, leaking oil everywhere. Less expensive to replace the unit than pay for a bandaid on a unit covered under warranty for 1 more year. Had another company come out, replace the unit for less money to bandaid the issue. Bottom line, got a new unit, 10 year warranty for less than the labor it would have cost to fix.
Demar was my technician today and he was AMAZING! Helped me fix all my plumbing issues at my store where I was having lots of leaks. He was quick, efficient, and definitely worth the price!
The tech Hadrian was very pleasant, knowledgeable, informative, professional. I would give him 5 stars. The reason for only 3 is the administration side.
In the middle of summer my AC went out (now this is after hour). The tech that came out on the 19th wasn't very friendly. After about 15 minutes he tells me it's my thermostat. Then he tells me my unit is very very old (like I don't know) and it's going to cost me about 10 to 11 thousand to replace it. He wants 250 to replace the thermostat. I said no thank you. I ran to home depot and bought a new one. Guess what! That didn't fix it. So the next day my regular guy come. It was the moter on the outside unit. I'm so disappointed with there service. I had to pay 69 dollars for a service call that was even correct. Ugh.
My air conditioner stopped working so I called Penguin Air and they came out and tried to fix it. Before they did that they thought it might be electrical so they had there electrician come out and they tried to add new breakers in my electrical box. My husband said how are we going to be sure if the new breakers work so the electrician took out a couple breakers and we learned some of our breakers are melting because the person who put the panel in used aluminum instead of copper wire so now we need a new electrical panel box and a new air conditioner. The guys from Penguin Air were here all weekend even on the day before a holiday they have been really great!! We need a permit for our electrical box and they have been doing everything they can to get it but of course the holiday has to get in the way because you can't get a hold of anybody and this has to happen when the temperatures our the hottest they have been in awhile
Our technician Efrain was great! He was professional, on-time and knowledgeable. We definitely recommend penguin air to all our family and friends.
I thought the tech had done a great job...until I was able to do a little research, I would have never continued had I known what I have since learned. Since I have now been able to do a little research, we were in a terrible spot and needed cooling. Everyone is now telling me that obviously in a sealed system, the Freon had to go somewhere and there must be a leak. Nathan did explain he could do a search for the leak but that would cost 4K plus and if they found a leak in the coils , it would take time to order and repair the leak. So I took the cheap route cause we needed cooling now. Why do you charge 240 dollars a pound for Freon when you can buy a 25 pound tank for 350.00 and that was from a retail store, I am sure you get it whole sale. Since I have had time to do some research, I have contacted a number of other companies and they charge 100 dollars a pound!!!!!! You signed me up for a service contract which gave me a 20 percent discount off all your bloated parts prices. I just checked pricing for the sealant/die kit you charged me 350.00 dollars for and it list price is about 35 bucks from Amazon. Now I really feel sick plus now I have been told using that can cause other serious issues like causing restrictions. NEVER AGAIN, YOU WILL NOT BE BACK IN MY HOME

Very impressed with every aspect of my experience with Penguin Air. Their service was excellent and technicians were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I highly recommend this company! They installed a brand new A/C unit which is working perfectly!
Had Nathan W. Come out and I explained to him what my wife and I are experiencing with our ac unit. Gave me an honest opinion and followed up by showing me with his work. Gave us recommendations for how to keep our home ac working well and more efficient. Will deffo use again for our future needs. Thanks again Nathan!
We had a very pleasant and informative appointment with an agent from Penguin Air. He was prompt, friendly and provided a lot of information as he performed the A/C system check.
Alex and Omar were professional and did a great job in the upgrade of my electrical panel. Will definitely use them again when I need electrical work done
Update!!! Attention everyone reading this, I purposely used a fake name for this review just to see what the response would be, without having to use my identity. She may not have been the executive president or whatever but it was a title she liked to flaunt, if you would like me to put her name in here I would be happy to. This is a prime example of how dishonest this company is. Again, I contacted them multiple times asking for an update and they responded with NOTHING. Do yourself a favor and avoid even applying to this company, it is a waste of time and energy. If you apply for a job here, don’t expect them to call you. They will take an entire day to interview you and then completely ghost you. Reaching out is pointless, I emailed the executive president who I interviewed with and have not received anything. If I didn’t get the job fine and dandy but let me know! It’s common courtesy, people are not just at your disposal.
Technician was great and able to save me from a $2,000 repair. Only thing I wish was to have the technician come out and inspect unit first before I signed up with ally for a loan but luckily he was able to find the issue being a bad capacitor vs a bad motor. Also, it was 10pm at night so I'm thankful he saved my house from a hot Phoenix night and the loan stuff I'll take care of with their billing department.
Ok so I was definitely impressed by the experience that Ralph Varela had. He was professional and most of all informative. He didn’t only fix the problem but helped me make sure the problem doesn’t happen again.
I called Penguin Air to come fix my AC. The tech was nice and polite. The main problem was with pricing. I never received a written quote. It started in the 100s and was 3000.00 by the end of it. It jumped over a 1000 from last estimate when it was time to pay. I was told that I couldn't have a printed receipt but one would be emailed. That never happened. I am very unhappy with this company. I would recommend that you check with multiple AC companies before you use this one.
I got three quotes for a home improvement project. This company wanted $900 dollars more than the other two. They charge you $69 dollars to come out and then give you a quote so expensive that you can’t possibly justify the expense. I think this $69 fee is a scam!
Henry Rendon was our Technician and performed above and beyond any HVAC Tech we’ve worked with since becoming home owners, I would recommend Penguin Air and specifically his skills and services above all other companies valley wide! Broken AC in 110°+ heat is a horrifying situation but thanks to Henry it didn’t last long! Thank you Penguin Air, and thank you Henry!
All of the people at penguin air were polite and courteous. They accommodated my needs and adjusted their schedule to help me deal with my health issues. Very, very knowledgeable, and very professional. Nathan, quickly and accurately examine the situation and diagnosed the problem. He told me what needed to be done clearly.
Pricing was high for replacing a capacitor, but they were quick to respond while my AC was down, had the part on hand, and the tech was very professional and laid out my options nicely.
