Working with them was very easy and professional. I don't have a great understanding of these things and they were very helpful in educating me on what equipment to use and why. Their team was extremely professional while working in my home. After the job was done they cleaned up everything which is awesome. Absolutely recommend
Installed a Mitsubishi AC unit 2 years ago. Couldn't put it where I wanted it. Had some trouble drilling hole and finding where it exited. Had to change plan and put behind the house instead of the side of the garage. In the end, did an excellent job mounting inside and electric and drain to and from the unit. Salesman said where we would mount would cool entire house. It does not reach front bedrooms unless I have ceiling fans running to move cold air down the hallway. Probably could have used 2nd unit in hallway by 3 bedrooms or in master bedroom. Using ceiling fans in conjunction is cheaper in the long run than a 2nd unit. Haven't used as a support heater only AC. Cools 4 rooms and hallway really well without fans. Had a good finance plan 0% interest for 18 months. We enjoyed it before paying it off
The crew showed up on schedule and did a professional job replacing our furnace and air conditioning. They took the time to explain the system and left the site clean.
Our furnace stopped working around 6pm and one of the only places open was Preece. Someone was able to come out the next morning. Mike showed up before 9 and had my furnace working quickly! I will forever use them
These guys did a amazing job they came and put in a new system(heating) were polite professional courteous I'm very amazed and I would never use anybody else if you're looking for heating or cooling definitely go with these guys look no further! I'm super grateful 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great business. My family and me have used this company for years. Always on time, good prices, treat you with respect and honest. I'd highly recommend them for any of your heating or cooling needs ❄⚡🔥
In 2018 I had Preece Heating & Cooling install a Mitsubishi mini split system for me. They were nothing but awesome during the entire sale/install process. I was very happy with the unit and the installation.
Fast forward to fall of 2021. The unit no longer was operational. It would turn on but would not make any heat. I called Preece Heating & Cooling, they promptly came out for a service call and re-filled the unit with refrigerant but not checking for a leak as to why the original leaked out in the first place. Within 1 week this had leaked out again. They sent a bill for this refrigerant refill, which i refuse to pay as they should never have knowingly refilled the unit with the leak never being found as it would all leak out in such a short time anyways.
I called back and they said the next step would be to replace the line-set for the system at a cost of roughly $600+, the line-set warranty is only 1 year from install date, the Mitsubishi parts are 12 year. They said in their past experience this is where most leaks are as they had a bad batch of line-sets that they sold for a while.
I was skeptical that the issue was the line-set and I asked them once again to come out and actually FIND the leak before just replacing parts and hoping it fixed the issue. Their only solution was to replace the entire line-set as they relayed that to me again.
At this point, i was determined to find the actual leak in the system before just paying someone to replace parts. After calling a few other HVAC companies, I found one that would come out and track down the source of the leak. After a few hours of pressure testing with Nitrogen, and a lot of leak spray, we found the leak, it was at the evap located inside the indoor wall unit and NOT the line-set. This is a warrantied part under Mitsubishi's 12 year warranty.
I now took this information to Preece Heating & Cooling and asked them what they would like to do next since we have confirmed the leak would not have been solved by their $600+ line-set swap.
After talking to Russ Sprickman on the phone he said he would check on parts and call me back that day, well that callback never came. At about 1.5 weeks later I decided my time and money was better spent with the HVAC company that actually came out to find the leak. They ordered the replacement evap from Mitsubishi, came out and installed it and I now have a running system again.
It is a shame it has come to this as I very rarely write negative reviews online, 99% of my online reviews are positive ones. But after the way this situation was handled with multiple attempts on my part to hold their hand to get them to correctly diagnose and service a product they installed. I felt compelled to let prospective customers know how an "after the sale" service situation was handled.
Called Preece Heating and Cooling 7/15 (Fri) due to my AC not cooling the house. Russ was out here the next morning 7/16 (Sat) and had it all fixed within an hour. Capacitor went in the AC unit. On time, professional, and went above and beyond giving helpful information to make my system run more efficiently. Will definitely use in the future for anything that may go wrong. Thanks again!
Our 18-year-old Luxaire furnace went down yesterday. No heat. It was down to the single digits that night. I contacted Preece in the morning at around 7:45 AM. I was second in line for a service tech. He got there around 9:30. Quickly and professionally diagnosed the problem. Went back to the store for the part. Had us up and running before 11 AM. I've added these guys to my Keepers List of contractors. They are responsive, professional, reasonably priced, and do quality work, Being without heat in single digit weather is life threatening. These guys stepped up and got the job done quickly and efficiently. Thanks guys! I've now asked them for a quote on a new HVAC system. If a contractor will do the little things well, they deserve the bigger jobs.
There are a few things in life you come to rely on, to make your life easier... 1) a great doctor, 2) a trustworthy mechanic, and 3) especially in Erie, a responsive, consistent and reliable HVAC company! I can't say enough about Russ and his team at Preece. Any time we've had an issue, they have always answered the phone no matter what time it is, and their pricing is fair, transparent and more than competitive! They recently made a hugely helpful suggestion on how to replace our split Heat/AC unit in a sunroom, and truly care about their work. We are thrilled and comforted that they are our one-stop shop for all things heating and cooling! It's good to know I don't need to look around any more for an HVAC company - Preece has been our "go-to" group for over 5 years now. Thrilled and happy!!
