Ted and his team went above and beyond to retrofit our home with central air. Our house was built in 1985, with baseboard heating, and is also an unusual shape and layout. Other companies bid $1000-10000 over Ted’s bid for 4 ductless units! With the team’s assistance and Ted’s creative vision of the installation, our house was completed in 2 days, with ducting/ heat pump/ AC, and with 8 vents throughout the house!
P.S. I think that some of these other reviews on here are not accurate, as I just don’t see his company acting this way. Keep in mind that there is a similar company the ends in “HVAC”, not “heating”
I recently moved into a home with an HVAC system this company installed in 2022. I’m leaving this review to warn others who are considering hiring them.
We realized something was off when we went to turn on the AC on the first hot day and nothing happened. We were told Willamette had installed it, and when we contacted them to ask for help, Ted yelled at my husband for calling him in the afternoon (it was a weekday) and denied he had installed our AC. So we got help with that elsewhere.
Once someone else had set it up correctly, we learned that it’s not effective– barely any air reaches the upper floor, while the main floor and basement become very cold when it’s running, the basement sometimes getting down into the 50s. We sought three quotes to address that. Every person who came out was more shocked than the last at how poorly our system was set up. One person said almost no part of it was up to code, and he was stunned that anyone signed off on it. Another assumed after looking at it that it had not been installed by professionals. Each one listed off the many, many things wrong with it, and we were warned that we should expect water leaks in the winter and that the current setup poses the risk of gas leaks and fire hazards.
Can’t say I don’t feel any ill will towards this company, but my goal here really is just to try to save other homeowners from having to deal with this headache.
They installed our furnace valved for natural gas even though we are on propane based on an assumption. When asked to come out and check on why so much propane was being used they told the previous owner nothing was wrong multiple times for 3 years. After 3 years of burning propane with the wrong valves, the furnace’s heat exchange was burnt out and we (the new owners) had to replace the entire furnace. The furnace was leaking unburned propane into our garage which could have caused a danger to our family. Buyer beware! We will be sending a complaint to their licensing board for negligence.
