    Anctil maintained the furnace in a house I used to live in in Portland and I was happy with their work. My new house needed a new hot water heater and I went to them for a tankless model. The estimate was competitive, and the install - complicated because of the need for a bigger gas line and plumbing - went off without a hitch. I am a very satisfied customer.

    Chris/Anctil’s technician was thorough, cheerful, easy-to-work-with, and a good communicator. He needed to go back to the shop to pick up a part, which he did, avoiding a return trip the next day. That was appreciated. This was the first time we used them. We would use them again.

    Chris from Anctil Heating & Cooling came out today and fixed my fireplace that had stopped working. He did a great job! I use Anctil to service my heater and air conditioner, too, and they are always very prompt and give great service.

    We have had our heating/central air system maintained by Anctil (spring/fall tune up) for couple of years. last year we replaced the blower fan housing, this year it was the mother board. how nice to call at 7am and have a technician at the house 3 hours later and the job completed in 2 hours (he had to go get the part). very nice service.

    The upstairs of my house has historically been 10 - 15 degrees hotter than downstairs in the summer. Even worse during the recent "heat dome". So I called a few HVAC shops to find a solution. Jake from Anctil came out and pointed out an airflow issue caused by how the unit had originally been installed that the other estimators hadn't even noticed. Fixing it increased the price, but I was more interested in getting it fixed right than just going with the lowest bid. In the end, I had a zoning system installed so that the upstairs temp could be controlled separately from the downstairs, plus added another vent in an undersupplied room. Jake got me a quote quickly, and, unlike other companies, they actually had the parts available and I didn't have to wait until February to get the work done.

    The crew arrived about 4 weeks after I got the bid from Jake (with a little follow up on my part) -- they actually showed up a few minutes early, which was great (sooner begun, sooner done and all that). They ran into some unexpected issues and it ended up taking 2 days instead of one, but once they started the work, they were very good at communicating what was going on, how long it would likely take, and any challenges they found. I was really impressed with all of the crew. Everyone was professional and nice. They arrived early and worked hard all day. They weren't bothered (or didn't show it) when I dropped in to get a status update. They did a great job cleaning up when they were done.

    Overall it was a great experience and, as far as I can tell so far, it was successful in achieving the objective of getting better airflow upstairs and will allow me to have better control of the upstairs temperature (without having to adjust the downstairs temperature to a ridiculous level.)

    I will be using Anctil again and will be referring them to my friends and neighbors.

    Be Forewarned, we've used this company to install a brand new HVAC unit on the roof of our building in Portland. The unit had problems and we've called multiple times in order to have them come fix it. They are refusing to fix the brand new unit even though it's only several months old. I'm unsure why they are refusing . As discussed above, the unit is on the roof and is inaccessible to us , showing that we didn't do anything to cause the problem. I would suggest looking at other more reputable companies that will cover any warranty issues.

    I called to schedule my annual furnace check. The process was quick and I got a time just a week out. Pretty good, actually. I have been using them for years and always get good service, both on the phone and in person when they come out to check things.

    Chris came in response to a malfunction notice on our control panel. He carefully examined everything to determine it was an electrical issue due to some power surge and recommended an excellent electrician who took care of the issue after which Chris came back and made sure the connections and everything was functioning as it should. In the process he noticed some things on our siding of concern and took the time to mention it to me and give recommendations how to deal with it. I am very thankful for his attentiveness and above and beyond service.

    Our heat would not start on a chilly morning in March. I called Anctil and a technician was at our home by noon.
    Quickly found the problem and repaired it. Heat came on. He charged for a simple service call and we were grateful to have our home heat back on so quickly. Anctil installed a Carrier complete central heat system in 2016. Great company to work with.
