Overall, the experience was good. H Jacks was able to come to our home after our hot water tank went out within 30 mins of the call while I had other companies tell me it could be days or weeks. It was a relief to have someone out to quickly. The team was very kind and personable and answered our questions.
As other reviews mentioned, we found H Jacks to be extremely expensive. Our hot water tank was under warranty (thankfully) but we were prepared to pay for the labor for installation. H Jacks quoted us $1,500 for the installation ONLY. I’ve had multiple friends and family members tell me this is completely outrageous. We even called our insurance company and they told us an installation should be well under $1,000.
When I called and asked for a detailed breakdown of how they came to $1,500, they were not able to provide it (what was labor vs materials vs taxes vs any other components). They told me they were a “flat rate” company and they don’t pass taxes to their customers. However they still declined to provide a breakdown which makes me feel like it was just arbitrarily put together. In my opinion, a company should be able to provide details on how they came to a number especially when it’s $1,500. How much are you charging per hour for labor? What is the cost of materials? How are you getting to this number?
Again, we were in a bit of a desperate situation with a baby at home and no desire to go longer than needed without water and unable to get other crews out quickly.
So overall, the process and team were great. However, due to the cost, we likely won’t be calling again and feel a bit taken advantage of.

Update:Received a call from Ben and he rescheduled my appointment. The techs called and came out and were very apologetic about the mix up. They serviced my boiler replaced a part that went bad. I am pleased with their response .
Original issue:Had an appointment scheduled for Nov 8 th between 10am -12 noon no one showed. I called they told me next technician was scheduled for me. No one showed after I took off for the day. I am highly disappointed. Wasted day and poor service.

I called them about an estimate to replace my furnace. The guy came out, he assessed the job, took down my information and told me he would get back to me with the quote. The guy obviously didn't get around to responding to me, so I called the office and spoke to a lady and she told me some b******* excuse, then she reassured me that they would have my quote emailed out to me... It's been almost 2 weeks since I heard from them... If they didn't want to do the work he could honestly told me instead of stringing me along. I'm a auto mechanic by trade I don't string people along, I tell them straight up about their vehicle... That's not the case with this company if they don't want to do the work they won't be honest and tell you. If you have ultimate patience work with them if not come along with me we'll go somewhere else.
