We have been customers of Favret for more than 20 years. This year Tim Campbell came to service our air conditioning system. Tim was polite, thorough and informative. He exemplified the great service we have come to expect from Favret.
Out service technician did a great job with our spring maintenance check. He is friendly, efficient, and explains what he’s doing. We’ve been with favret for a long time and plan to stay with them.
Favret is the Best. Have never had a bad technician. Tim was our spring tech. He was very thorough with the hvac system and explaining everything to us. You don’t have to worry when Favret maintains your system.
Charles did a wonderful job diagnosing the problem with our 2017 Favret-installed Carrier Infinity gas furnace to be a failed controller board, which was under warranty, after we began receiving "45-Control Fault (code: 45)" messages from our system. Without getting ahead of himself, he methodically stepped through a well-practiced, methodical troubleshooting procedure to confirm the faulty device, called in a replacement and a new gas valve since it had been stressed with frequent cycling on and off for several days as the control board began failing, picked the parts up, installed them, and had us back in operation and heat within a few hours. Not one to normally pay for service contracts, I decided to sign up that day so that Favret will keep our house comfortable for years to come. Thanks Charles!
This morning Seth #624 did a service and repair on my AC equipment. (He had previously done a fall furnace checkup for me.) I found him to be pleasant, efficient, thorough and knowledgeable. When in my condo, he covered his shoes😊 I am looking forward to having Seth as a repeat technician for my heating and cooling needs.
I pay $300+ a year for the Gold service plan which includes 2 annual service/inspection visits where they replace our filters with filters that we supply. Not really complaining about this since the service techs are friendly and knowledgeable. However, a bit upset with a service call today where we needed work on our heater that has been out for 3 days. The tech showed up, I explained the metal on metal sound that the fan wheel was making. After inspecting he stated that the fan motor needs replaced – bad bearings. The service contract covers labor and provides a 10% reduction on parts which sounds like a great deal. However, I was quoted $787 (includes the 10% reduction) for the motor. Retail cost for the ¾ hp motor is $300 - $400. Replacement part # HC42TQ113. Like other reviews that I have read, the markup on the motor is quite excessive. I called in to have them explain the large markup. The person I spoke with said it covers the visit, the installation, and the labor warranty – all free, free, free with the service contract. She finally said that it is just the cost of doing business. Was tempted to order one and replace it myself, but it has been in the 20’s the last few nights and my family needs heat ASAP. So, I agreed to the price. It arrives and it is installed. The fan noise persists. The tech then says it is the fan wheel and that some of the blades are loose. It will need to be replaced. What about the motor? Well I still have to pay for that. And the fan wheel? Well that has to be ordered. How much and when? Well we will be in touch. Feel totally swindled here. $787 and my furnace is in pieces. Hope Favret can still make this right.
Update. Favret also installed a new fan so I was out $1,100 on total bill. Had to call Favret back after install to rebalance the fan. Then 1 month later the fan was making a lot of out of balance noise. Favret came back and replaced the motor and the fan since still under warranty. The out of balance noise is gone. Hope it lasts. Glad to have a properly functioning ac system. Happy that Favret kept at it to make things right.
I have a twice yearly maintenance contract with Favret and have used it for about 7 years. I bought a new system from them about 12 years ago. We have been very happy with their products and the service. Our service technician today was Seth and he was new to us but he did a fine job. Highly recommended.
We have a maintenance contract with these guys. When there is an emergency they arrive in a timely fashion and have always been able to rapidly diagnose and fix our problem. We have had Anthony respond twice and have been so impressed with his quick ability to figure out the problem.
We had our yearly AC service call with Charlie. Love to hear that all is well. He is efficient, thorough and is patient with our questions. I hope Favret appreciates him as much as we do.
My furnace went out on a Sat. morning. I called a local company and after examining the furnace, the technician said I needed a part that he couldn't get until Monday. So I called other places to see if they might have the part. Charles G. from Favret called me back and said that in his 24 years of experience, he had only replaced that part twice. So I asked him to check it out. He came at 6:30 on Sat. night and it was in fact a different part that I needed. He gave me suggestions on how to keep warm. It's Mon. and my furnace is now back in order with a minimum of trouble, thanks to Charles. The service was professional and exchange pleasant.
