We were long time customers until this week. We had an emergency call-in this weekend and were told they could not honor the 24 hour service until the next Monday. On Monday, a service tech checked out the unit and decided it was the compressor, however didn’t have access to a replacement and would contact me the next day. This is now Friday and yet no followup. We sent several emails and calls to the General Manager and Service Tech, again without a response.

In the past I was very satisfied with their service, however, after the recent encounter we are moving on to a new service provider as soon a possible.

When they called me last September (2021), asking me to pay early for the October renewal of my service contract, it should have been a red flag. A tech came to perform the fall service in late November and that was the last I heard from them. My calls are not returned and the contract I paid for has not been fulfilled, even though it does not expire until October of this year (2022). I believe I (and others in the same situation) have been intentionally ripped off.

We have paid for Spring and Fall Service for our HVAC for 2022... but after calling and leaving several messages, we have gotten no response back about a time for our Spring Checkup!! It is June 1st. Today when I called, the message said their voice mailbox was full.... NOT a good way to run a business. Beware!

I have been dealing with this company (formally McNutt Service Group) since 1998 when they first installed my systems. Along the way, from McNutt through Southeast Climate Care, I’ve had good technicians and not so good ones. I always felt I was paying top dollar, but felt some sense of loyalty to the company and their employees. That is until now. On my last service call, the tech diagnosed a bad circuit board. Their quote to install the new board, including the diagnostic fee was over $1,600. Did I mention they suggested I purchase a new furnace for $4,000 to $5,000? Feeling as though I might be taken advantage of, I contacted a local company for a second opinion. They performed the diagnosis and installed the new board for $400. I think I’ve placed my last call to Southeast Climate Care.

Cannot recommend this group, which was formerly McNutt Service Group. We got our money back (nearly $1,000), finally. Their incompetent servicing caused the furnace to shut down in February, it was a cold week while they unnecessarily replaced a working part, upsold, lied, and tried to dazzle this retired couple with jargon, angling for a complete new furnace. The problem was not electrical as they said, but mechanical. We found a friend of a friend to fix the furnace. The one star is because they were very polite and we did get our money back.

I can not recommend SouthEast Climate Care to anyone. The receptionist Melodie said she would call me back after we had a discussion and never did. Southeast Climate Care will not honor a contract that was paid for in advance. I have called the BBB and will do what ever they express me to do. If necessary I will ask for legal advice. This company in my opinion is the worst to work with even after I paid thousands of dollars up front and they refuse to repair approximately 585.00 of needed work on my heat pump and furnace.
If I were you, don’t get involved with this company in my opinion it’s all bad news!

McNutt Heating and Air installed my Heat Pump in 2013 and apparently in that time it became Southeast Climate Care any way on Dec 24 my Heat Pump went out I called they charge $206.00 for a service call and Replaced a fuse which immediately blew then they put me on emergency heat and ordered a contactor which cost me another $187.00. That didn't repair my system. They ordered a board at the cost of $318.00 which I paid in advance and told them That I would not be able to be home before 4:00 pm on the day they said it would be here. They called me on the day it arrived , said the service person was at my house to install , this was at 1;00pm and said I didn't tell them that, anyway they had the wrong board and I'm still on emergency heat. I'll be honest I've put a small fortune in this thing and I feel like they are giving me the run around. I will never have these people work on anything for me again

Service has been good, but keep track of your visits. We had a 3 year contract with McNutt (now SE Climate Care) and was told I had one more visit on our contract, but then got a call several months later telling me I owed for a new contract before they would service again. Not too happy...

I am unable to contact the office and voice mail is full. Website is down. I suspect they are out of business? Great - they have my prepaid service contract money.
