I hired this company in November 2021 to fix a problem with my boiler not starting. Mr. Alexander was able to start the boiler and said it should be fine but it needed to be cleaned and I gave him a $100 deposit to clean the boiler. The boiler stopped working again later that night and I decided to get a second opinion. Mr. Alexander never said the deposit was not refundable and in fact, agreed to return my deposit three (3) times but never did. This person is dishonest and I wish I read the reviews before hiring this clown. He talks a good talk but is a liar and incompetent. I would give him minus 10 stars if I could. Pathetic. .

Proficient is an understatement! Wilfred Alexander was very knowledgable and helped us a great deal when installing a new HVAC system. The installation price and unit cost was more than reasonable, and they operated in a very professional and respectful manner. I'd recommend them to anyone who's considering getting their heating or cooling systems done in their home. Thank you!

Wilfred is a true hero! We came into our wine shop this morning (90+ degrees) and our AC had stopped working. We called Alexander's and he called us back within 10 minutes to troubleshoot over the phone. He was here within an hour and our AC was back within 30 more minutes. He was efficient and a pleasure to work with. Can't thank him enough and will definitely be using his services again.

Wil Alexander was the first person in seven or so phone calls to actually troubleshoot my problem over the phone before giving me an estimate for a diagnostic visit. He then quoted a reasonable number (for HVAC) and told me he would be there within an hour. Then he arrived in 30 minutes! At each step of the way he explained what he was doing and what the next steps were. And he approached all of this with a good sense of humor, including about the acrobatics he had to do to get the outdoor AC unit on the roof. I would use him again without hesitation. You should use him too!

Willfred did an amazing job. Professional, friendly, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable. One of my ACs (I have a mini duct system with three zones... I think) kept shorting out and I had another tech come multiple times without any results. Willfred came once, took a look, immediately figured out the issue, returned the next day, and fixed it within an hour. Highly recommend for any and all AC/HVAC needs. He has now fixed every AC unit in my building, so this guy clearly knows what he's doing.

I fully support and echo my wife ( Jennifer Wright) statement for the lack of service and professionalism provided by Alexander heating and cooling company. Shocking and dreadful service. We have filed a complaint with BBB and are in the process of taking legal action. As we are still waiting for our promised refund. I've even reached out to Home Depot to follow-up on the units he claim where the purchases was made. To my fellowmen out there, please stay clear of this company. If you were considering him, let my review be our research. DON"T DO IT. Just to provide some context we invited him into our home for an initial walk-thru to provide guidance on what a/c units we needed for each room , He recommended a larger unit for for the living room which after installation did not work. He promise to follow up a day after, which if he did I wouldn't be writing this review. And after we had fully paid for the work, it took weeks for us to even get in contact with him. When we finally did, he was rude, arrogant and outright disrespectful for work he did not complete. Its unbelievably the lengths we had to go thru to get him. Using our friends and family phones to get him and he would be screen my wife and I calls. To anyone out there who is even thinking about using this service, Pls DON'T. You can contact me directly and I can give you my direct awful experience dealing with Alexander.

7/7/20 - Paid $200 for consultation. After the consultation I decided to proceed with the installation of five units and two compressors as informed. Before signing the contract I requested to see his license, he said “As a HVAC Contractor in New York we are not required to have it, but yes I do have one I’m licensed specifically by EPA and texted me his Technician Certificate card.” he also stated “He has PM Tech and 410 Licenses the one he texted me was universal and he worked on all HVAC equipment.”
7/8/20 - Alexander required a 73% deposit fee of $7,686.90 before starting the work so that he could get the ac units and materials needed to do the job. On 7/8/20 Alexander took pictures of units and sent it to me and my husband via text message.
7/9/20 - Alexander’s worked commenced of him boring cantaloupe size holes in my house for wiring purposes which were never sealed closed. It took him approximately three days to install all units but he finally finished, I tried to pay him the balance of $2,643.00 via Zelle and Cash App but the payments wouldn’t go through, so he decided to use one of the guy’s he was working with cash app account. All five units were working and produced cool air, then not even a full 24 hours later the four of the five units stopped producing cool air and started producing fan air and leaking water. I called Alex immediately and told him of the issues. "He said turn off the units by circuit breaker, wait 15 minutes, then turn them back on that did not work so, Alex said he would come out.
7/16/20 - Texted him what happened still waiting for you to show up. He texted sorry cannot talk right now I will call in a second. Never called back.7/17/20 - Texted him when are you coming to fix the leak, texted again I need ac fixed call when you can. We are going to have a heatwave. No response.
7/21/20 - Texted Alex hope to see you at 11:00 am. Never showed up. Texted him It is after 11:00am I would appreciate if you would let me know what time you are coming over today. He responded I over booked my appointments I will be there 7/22/20 between 11:00am-11:30am
7/22/20 - Alex showed up at 1pm to fix the leak he said we should not have any more problems.
7/26/20 - Texted Alex of same issues of hot air coming out of units. Promised to come out 7/29/20 or sooner to redo piping.
7/27/20 - Texted to ask that he come sooner than 7/29/20 due to heatwave. No response.
7/28/20 - He texted back I am booked for the next two days.
7/30/20 - Texted what time are coming on 7/31/20 and reminded him to bring proper equipment to mount cables. No response.
8/3/20 - I posted a review on google maps “Before posing my experience, I’m going to let Alex fix whatever issues him and I have encountered.” He posted “What issued is that.”
8/3/20 -Texted him you stopped all contact what is going on, he responded he will call when he is done with other job, dropped his phone while working, will call 8/4/20 in the morning.
8/4/20 - No call from Alex.
8/5 - Texted him what day are you coming. He texted he will call to set up an appointment. Never called.
8/8/20 - Texted Alex what are we doing, told him we will be pursuing legal action against him. No
response.
8/10/20 - Alex called to say Friday 8/14/20 he will come around 12pm with a machine to detect leaks. Never showed up.
8/14/20 - My husband texted him you told my wife you was coming to fix the issues. No response.
8/16/20 - Texted Alex I take it that you have no intentions of coming to fix the ac I have not heard from you we would appreciate if you call us back with your plans. No response.
8/19/20 - Texted Alex when are you coming to do the work. No response.
8/21/20 - Called Alex. No call back.
8/21/20 - Texted Alex. No response.
As of to date, Wilfred Alexander from Alexander’s Proficient Heating and Cooling refuses to answer any of my calls or respond to any of my texts. I am deeply saddened that I paid so much money to someone I thought had integrity.

This was a very poor experience, and this team was not honest with me. We needed a new boiler. They gave that was not "new" and was beat up (see attached pictures). We also overpaid for the new boiler, which was not new. They did NO work at our house; however, they took over $3K. The boiler still is outside our house, where it has sat for two months. Installing a gas boiler takes multiple people and a few skill sets. It weighs over 400 lbs. They showed up with two people, not the proper tools, late with a beat-up boiler. They wanted to "slide" it across our hardwood floors. Please see pictures of concrete gouges from their amateur performance.

They were upset that we didn't let them start the job, but we were afraid they would destroy our house.

This team may be OK for small jobs, but I assure you, they cannot handle what they said they can do. Definitely no big jobs. Now we have to pursue them legally to get our money back. I would award 0 stars, but this is not possible.

I wanted to give Wilfred two stars based on his overall drive and willingness to make you happy. Issue is that he took a job that was overwhelming for him and left me in a position that I would have to hire someone else to fix the issues. Wilfred was broke the moment I gave him the deposit and I had to continue to give him the remainder so he could afford the parts. By the time the job was done, I had paid more than the quoted amount and had to pay for a large part of the parts he was supposed to cover.

The worst part of this experience is that I had to repair multiple leaks myself because he wouldn't respond and will now have to replace most of his work to be correct and/or to incorporate parts that he overlooked or didn't reccomend as he should.

I tried to resolve this and he dissapeared.

I tried calling so many places just to get my thermostat fixed. Everyone was trying to schedule me days out. I called Alexander's Proficient and he was here within the hour and fixed it in under 20 minutes. It's cold out so I am beyond thankful!
