This is the worst company I ever dealt with. I had a heat problem, I called them this Friday and they told me Saturday from 1 PM to 3 PM a technician going to come to fix. It turned out I waited saturday until 7 PM for him to show up just to tell me that it’s the valve and they cannot fix it today because the store is closed(of course it’s closed since you show up at 7pm instead of 1-3pm) But they will fix it tomorrow,
They told me that it was the valve, and asked $391 to put a new valve.
supposedly they said and I quote the dispatcher “ Chris will come and change the valve today(Sunday) at 2pm” this rude guy Chris shows up at 3:15pm, he comes and takes the valve off and goes in his truck and supposedly cleans it and wants to put back my own valve. he said this will work when I told him no you guys made a deal with me to put the new valve he said don’t tell me how to do my job otherwise I leave it and I don’t fix it. And he just left in the middle of the job. My tenant’s friend came and checked and said that we need a piece that cost $12 in Home Depot and he just fixed it in like 15 minutes.
I wasted 2 days of my life with this terrible company and I will NOT recommend this company for anyone.
It’s been the most stressful two days and very upsetting time with those liars.

it's been said you can judge a company best not by how well they perform but by how well they handle concerns and complaints about their performance. In that regard Shepherd Eng deserves a Buyer Beware at least from this dissatisfied customer.
Last month after discovering that my HVAC system wouldn't switch off following a repair by a Shepherd Eng tech in August, I called to report the problem. I was given an appointment for a repair man to stop by to address the problem. The appointment date came and went with no sign of a repairman or call to explain. My efforts to follow up were frustrated by unanswered phone messages and full voice mails, eventually taking several weeks before I finally was able to reach someone at the company. At that time I explained the entire story to lady in their office who apologized profusely for what had happened and promised to send a repair man later in that week. Again the date came and went without any repairman showing up or even calling. All of my subsequent calls have met the same fate as before with no one in the office to take my call and none of my messages being returned..... At this time I'm limited to turning my heat on and off manually which is a big hassle! thanks Shepherd Eng!
It's easy for someone to leave a great review when every thing goes according to plan, however it's when a problem arises that you really see the integrity and quality of a company. In that regard Shepherd Eng fails miserably.
Update 11/6/18 another appointment was made and not kept. now simply not returning my calls. Find it very hard to believe the other reviews.

Called them to repair our central air, which they were able to do, however once they repaired it our system was not able to turn off. We called them to ask what was the problem, they would not reply and when they did the manager cursed us out. Horrible service, horrible work, unprofessional, they don't even have uniforms or a business vehicle. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAY AWAY. If you ask me, they probably write the 4 and 5 star reviews themselves, because there is no way a bunch this incompetent could produce 5 star service.

First I would like to thank the lady that pickup the phone. She was so understanding. My window air conditioner wasn't working. Peter came over with his partner. Im sorry I forgot your name. Peter is the best. He is a gentleman he knows his stuff. He was able to pinpoint and explain what was wrong in detail.

This was original a 5 star review, but I had to update: Did a great job cleaning my ac unit, but did not resolve the problem of heavy leaking -- the young men noted that the unit was tilted incorrectly and fixed that, so now the overabundance of water that had been in my apartment is now hitting my terrace. Not a drip, not a small puddle, but enough water to cover half of a 15 x 6 terrace in the space of a few hours.

When I called to tell them that I was getting puddles on my terrace and the original problem had not been fixed, I was told that this is normal, that now that my ac is clean "water was flowing", that it had always been happening, that those things happen when the humidity is heavy, and that I'd just not noticed huge puddles. Despite me telling them that it had never happened before, ever, not even when new, and I'd not be likely to miss that much water over the course of 8 years, I was still told over and over that it was normal. After way too much of this -- and I did get upset, as I really felt disrespected -- the guy indicated that my evaporator (?) was no longer working efficiently because of age. Now that makes sense -- it doesn't assume me either blind or stupid, and indicates a difference in performance from out-of-the box to big leaks!

So the guy agreed they should come back and check it out, in case it is something else. Said they'd call and possibly pop by in two days. Nope. Got a voice mail message at 9:38pm. Very polite message, asking me to call back so they can "put me on the list." Would've thought I was on the list already?

The job the young men did on my ac was stellar, it really was, and I can find no fault with the assumption that it would solve the problem. But when it did not actually solve the problem, follow through from the company was lacking.

Peter is the best! Kind and great energy. He came to my home because the hot water tank was not working. He diagnosed it, called the warranty company, got the part free of charge, installed the part, and just like that I had hot water again. I was just the happiest person, all hassle free. Thank you Peter.

I was in the hospital when the tank stopped working. When I got the energy to deal with the problem, I called Peter. He came the same day, and gave me hope that this can be fixed. He did what he said and fixed my issue.

I will definitely call them again and definitely highly recommend them.

Just want to say this guy came to my house and saved me thousands of dollars, my boiler went down literally the day before Christmas Eve, and I had a company come to fix the boiler. The company told me that they needed a part that wouldn’t be in until Friday. (After Christmas) So we waited until Friday with no heat or hot water and then when Friday came they told me that they still weren’t sure whether the boiler would work or not. Then they told me that I should just buy a new boiler, but get this... they quoted the new boiler at $10,500 american dollars! So my wife and I were not ready to do that right away and we ended up searching for other companies to give us quotes. My wife found this company online and instead of them just quoting us for a new boiler right away, he offered to fix it. They came to our house around 7pm and in about 15 minutes, he had our boiler on and running. The same boiler that the first company told us needed a part that wouldn’t t be in until the Friday after Christmas! I could not believe how we almost got swindled into buying that new boiler. I will never deal with another large company again and I would definitely recommend this company to do any HVAC work you might need.

Two of the best tech guy's I've had to deal with in a long time they're service was great in and out very respectful people. I have two very old units that have not been serviced in along time I called them up and they came same day. My units are running like new and they gave me a step by step instructions on how to clean my units

Called this company Shepherd ENG Heating Cooling & Refrigeration for my furnace for a repair, I have old people in my home and leaving them with no heat is very dangerous. So two very quiet but polite guys showed up with some heavy looking tool boxes and bags, I asked them if everything was ok. They told me about having a long day and made a few jokes about lower back pains and got rite to work. We haven’t had any heat in about a week and called 3 other companies before hand and no one seem to be able to fix my issue. I also had questions about my connecting AC unit that doesn’t seem to actually cool the home at all during the summer months. In about 2 hours they repaired the furnace and showed me that it worked. And showed me that I had a hole in my AC system and closed it up and added the fluid it uses I think its called refrigerant
