19 years as a customer. Originally a customer Ackner Fuel that was amazing.
Customer service is hit or miss. A few years ago, the people that answered the phone were terribly rude and snotty. I learned to ask for “Dina.” She was amazing, always friendly, completed the customer’s request. No BS. After 17 years, she left.
The prices aren’t great, despite being in a “locked in” price.
Have had numerous instances of a tech that lacks the knowledge to service a Buderus blue flame oil boiler.
I couldn’t even buy this boiler off of them. In 2011, I reached out to “Andy” at the time for a quote on a new boiler, it took them 2 months to return a new oil boiler quote. In the mean time I saw a display for Buderus at a local fair, I asked the guy questions, got a price range and 4 months later I spent $11,000 outright in the upgrade to a new Buderus oil boiler, hot water heater and chimney liner.
Fast forward to currently. As a budget person, I pay from July on, not needing a delivery till November each year. They withdraw my money automatically and sit on it, earning them interest. But if you reach the threshold of what you prepaid, they won’t deliver to you, despite continuing to pay automatically each month.
Kim king was amazing to deal with in accounting. The current person, not so much, plays games with withdrawal dates, despite it being debited the same day each month with Kim King for almost 20 years here. Leaves you to wonder what date the withdrawal will happen, as they keep backing it up to 7-10 earlier than date on agreement or monthly statement. When u ask them not to do that, they tell you, it’s automatic, we have no control, the computer does it.
So.... this is my last month of automatic and allowing them access to my account electronically. I may even move on to a different company.
I’m phasing out off road gas and diesel (farm)
As our machinery has been having issues with the quality. If I buy it on the street, no issues. There’s no advantage to getting the farm fuels from them, no tax break, nothing except convenience for us.
This is my take. I’m not impressed.
I’m tired of chasing them down to have Bill Gumlaw to service the Buderus boiler. The only tech (supervisor) competent to service a Buderus and not smash something, realize that this brand needs its own cleaning kit, and to not take 4-6 hours to complete an annual cleaning. Seth was also phenomenal.
I’ve spoken these concerns to the owner years back in a cell call, when they blew me off on farm fuel lock in prices.
Just so over the lack of loyalty and respect toward me.
Now with reviews-customers have a voice.

Hit or miss depending on who u deal with. The only two service providers for furnace Maintenance are Bill Gumlaw or Seth. The rest have no clue how to service a Budaris boiler or that it requires a special tool kit. Dealt with that for years till I learned to request the above two people.
The prices-well you can lock in on a budget but I still think it’s a rip off. I encounter others who have no contract or commitment and pay less per gallon then I do elsewhere.
After years of dealing with nasty ladies answering the phones I knew to ask for Dina to accomplish anything. She left after 17 years of my loyalty. Finally had to ask to speak to an owner. Became so sick of the lack of efficiency with this company.
Why do I stay? Only place to get heating oil, off road diesel and gas for a farm. Or I’d walk in a heartbeat.

Very rude people wanted propane service switch from fuel with same company woman was super rude. Over priced for service.. because I didn’t want to pay them 450.00 to extend a line and was gonna have it done myself she closed my account and told me I was all done. Sent the 300.00 credit back to heap and said they will not be setting any tanks. Had them for 6 years as my fuel company sad they are like that!!

Had no heat! Called Maincare and Will came out right away and fixed the problem. We’ve been a client for years and always get great customer service!!
