Carlos did a great job fixing my 21-year-old AC unit! He was able to preserve it for me, hopefully another several years. Anything helps! He was also able to work with me on a Saturday appointment. I will gladly use his services again.

Carlos is very knowledgeable, experienced and honest. Very good to work with. His employees are also professional and skilled. Sells a quality product at a fair price. Did everything he said he would. No surprise charges etc. I would definitely use again and recommend them to everyone in the area.

First off, I have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I am NOT an HVAC technician, but when pushed I can learn wiring and read most elements on a circuit schematic. I know that "a little knowledge is dangerous" so I have taken a lot of time and effort to learn my system before I felt certain about any problems. This write-up is my personal opinion and review of the quality of work that was done.

Carlos Najera, owner of Quality Air Mechanical, was a pretty nice guy when I met him and he installed my split system with 2 stage electric heat pump. He had a different business name back then. Anyway, the reason I give him 1 star is that in my opinion, he did a very poor job because I think he cut several important corners with installing my system, most importantly in the quality of thermostat he used. I have found wiring problems (things disconnected that were wired up and meant to be hooked up, they just weren't tightened down.) My system should have had 3 full stages with 2 of them being the compressor (it is a two stage compressor) and 1 of them being the strip heat. The sales sheet that I looked up for my heat pump specifically calls for a 3H/2C Thermostat. Carlos installed a 2H/2C thermostat. After the system was ran for several weeks I had noticed problems with it. It was very hard to get Carlos on the phone, hard to get him to return my phone calls, and the problems with my system went unfixed. I eventually went from believing there was a problem to knowing it.

There were other corners cut during the installation of my heatpump. It works well, now, but I expect that I will have more problems down the road and I will have to learn how to repair them properly. I will not do business with Carlos Najera ever again because of this experience.

My degree is in Electrical Engineering. I have spend days learning how this system was wired up and I eventually came to the conclusion that they installed the wrong thermostat. Upon inspecting the wiring, I also determined that they left an important wire from the heat pump unhooked in the air handler. So, because of their poor thermostat choice in building my system I have been without my 2nd Stage Heat from the Heat Pump. My system literally went from Stage 1 Heat to Strip Heat for stage 2 because that is all the old thermostat supported. For those that know HVAC: Y2 was never getting energized, EVER, in heat mode. It worked fine in cool mode, because of limitations in the thermostat that was selected. Now, after fixing it, I have all 3 stages of heat working properly. Y1, Y2, and Emergency/Aux Heat all get energized properly.
