When we bought a three-bedroom house, we were told the previous owners had considered central air conditioning but didn't want to spend $35K. We did get a proposal from another company, specifying one unit in the basement and one in the attic to cool the first and second floors respectively. Since we didn't want holes in our hardwood floors, there would have to be extensive ductwork in the first floor walls. The price was $35,550.

We then realized that the compressors and heat exchangers were manufactured not by Carrier, Lennox, or Trane, but by the HVAC installer itself. We weren’t about to spend $35K on a “house brand”.

Tim from GRC pointed out that we only needed a single unit in the attic. Ductwork could be run through closets to cool the first floor from vents in the ceiling. Only one small section of wall on the second floor would have to be opened and repaired. Total price for top-of-the-line Carrier variable-speed equipment: $23,020.

The installation was as prompt and unobtrusive as we could have wished. Our A/C is so quiet only the cool air and the thermostat let us know it’s on. We subsequently used GRC to install a gas-powered generator. Needless to say, we have recommended GRC to all who have asked.

Needed our complete A/C [Air Handler and Compressor] replaced. Timely response/visit to give an estimate. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Three workers showed up at 8:30 a.m. to make the installation happen in one day. They worked together as a cohesive team. All were confident, courteous, knowledgeable and did not leave until we understood how to use/maintain the system and operate the new fangled thermostat. :)

We are in the process of selling a mixed-use building in Glen Rock and needed minor HVAC work completed per the inspection report. GRC Mechanical Services was very responsive and the fact our job was so small wasn't a problem. They arrived on time and completed the work, complete with pictures that we can submit to the inspector. I highly recommend this business.

I use to use this company but they have changed. I called for a repair that cost $400. Convinced me to buy a service contract and 2 minutes after I hung the phone up from the purchase I was told I need a new AC & furnace After doing some checking I found out that is true. Forget how hard it was to get a estimate from them. After having a new AC & heating system installed I figured I don't need the service contract and asked for a refund.. I was only given back half the money. A very nice lady tried to explain to me I used the contract and repair men have been to my house. I had to explain to her that those visits had to do with the $400 repair that didn't work. Also if I had used them for the new units I wasn't getting any credit for the $400 spent

GRC replaced HVAC system. Completely satisfied from the initial estimate contact thru the completed job. I'm very hands on and picky in regards home repairs. The installers, Terrance (and his assistant) did a top notch job. Every connection, pipe, wire, brace, duct work perfect. All in a 3.5 foot high crawl space.

Our old AC system was old and simply wasn’t doing the job. I contacted GRC based upon the great reviews that they received. When they came out, they pointed out many of the old system’s shortfalls. The system was clearly half a$$ed! The runs of duct work were rediculously long which is never good for cooling. Rather than try to piecemeal the old system back into a somewhat working system, we decided to replace the entire system. The price was right and we took advantage of the financing option. The installation was done to perfection. Even a layman, which I am, could see the attention to detail done by GRC. The guys who did the installation were fantastic. They then explained and demonstrated how to use the new system before leaving. Once they left, you couldn’t even tell they were there, other than the lucious cool air pouring from our new AC and it’s new duct work. If I had to do it again, and I pray that I don’t; I would use GRC everyday and twice on Sunday.

GRC converted our home from oil heat to gas.
They installed a water Heater & Boiler plus ran
new gas pipes under ground and into the house.
They are totally professional in every way. We are contracting for future work.

GRC called to make the initial appointment and showed up on time. They were knowledgeable and presented different options. We selected them in the end. The house remained clean while they worked and we could not ask for better air conditioning units to replace our old ones. Very happy.

Recently my furnace stopped working with "Auxiliary Input (G)" Failure. GRC put my both AC/Heating long time ago and I called them. The technician on the phone told me that the diagnostic visit is $89. If repairing is needed, there will additional charges for parts and labor as the diagnostic visit price will be included. The technician came and tried to diagnosed the problem. In the process he disconnected sensor of the condensate pump from the system and then connected it back. The outcome was that the condensate pump must be replaced. He quoted me the new pump for additional $230 plus labor. I declined the repair he left the system as it was before he came. Then I have been charged $252 instead $89 since the diagnostic was "labor-intense". That's not right. The diagnostic was promised for $89 and it must be $89. Bottom line - the repairing services of the company are overpriced and not fair. Look for somebody else...

Answer: It is not even true - the heating system was left after the visit in non-working state, exactly as it was before the visit. I haven't been told that I can temporarily disconnect the failed sensor and keep the heating working, until the pump has been replaced. Even worse - before the he left, the technician reminded me that I will not have heating, trying to force me to go with the pump replacement. What a scam...
