The team as Sumzero was amazing! We just finished a whole home heat pump installation. They were very fast and competitively priced.
The sales team was great and really listened to what I was looking for and did as much of the rebate paperwork as possible. The install team was very professional and were great craftsman. They put in a lot of effort to make the install as clean as possible. Sumzero will be the only company I recommend for HVAC, I can't say enough good things about them!

SumZero has been great to work with on this rather complex project. From Paul's communication to Marcelo's great installation leadership, and Daniel's final adjustments this was executed with precision, great communication and quality.
I looked at several options, probably had 3-4 other quotes, various vendors, Paul was the only one who understood that I needed an extra zone split and embedded that into the proposal. His team further revised the details during the install to optimize air flow. When COVID-driven supply chain difficulties got in the way, Paul kept us informed and was able to exceed his commitments. Sarai also guided us to a 0% 84-month loan in a couple of days, and promptly refunded deposit money not covered by it. We are excited to have our new Bosch Heat Pump and looking forward to many years of fine operation!

From the technician that came for the initial evaluation to the crew that did the installation, the personnel in the office, everyone was professional and competent. SumZero knows it’s business. I highly recommend them if you’re looking to get a heat pump installed.

Let me start by saying that the actual work that was performed by the people on site was great. Totally spot-on. They were friendly, careful, clean, considerate, and left a nice looking install when finished. The system operates very nicely, keeping my house warm with no need to run the oil heat. The sales process was very smooth. The salesman, Paul, was very knowledgable, honest, didn't try to push anything, and was very patient with all the many questions that I had to help me understand the ins and outs of heat pump heating. I'm confident that the system I bought is the right one for my home.

While I would give the actual installed system a five star review, I had to take a star off due to the difficulty I had around getting my rebate. My install was performed not long after the new year when the MA rebate options were in flux (though now the 2022 rebates are set). Since the new rebates were very likely to be larger than the old for my setup, I wanted to make sure I got the new. Despite trying several times pre- and post-install to make sure the proper rebate request was filed, this didn't happen. I only discovered the old amount was requested by looking at a public site that tracks rebate requests.

But here's where the good news is- even a month or two later once one of the owners of SumZero did find out about this issue, he called me personally and gave me his guarantee that they'd make it right since they realized they dropped the ball on it. They're refiling the rebate request, and in the mean time, have sent me a check for the difference (more than $3,000) so I don't have to wait for the rebate to be processed. The owner also assured me this is something they'll be paying closer attention to to make sure it doesn't happen again with future customers.

We were having some issues with our whole house air conditioner. I went to our A/C's manufacturer's site to find a local service contractor and it said Sum Zero Energy could service our equipment. I called SumZero and asked the woman who answered the phone if they did service calls. She didn't know! I told her the make of the unit and she said they do work with that manufacturer. She said that's all she knew and could not answer any other questions, but rather another woman would get back as soon as she was out of a meeting. Never heard back from them.

Was looking for heat pump mini splits installed in my house. Paul Jameson came in to give free estimate. He turned out to be very incompetent: didn't know basic MA building codes – proposed outdoor line going over my electric main. Included most powerful condenser in his estimate for 3 small rooms, when asked how he came up with this BTU numbers and why it needed, stopped replying my emails. This was about month ago, haven't heard from them since.
They have good reviews, that why I called them. Not recommended!
You may see their reply below. They forgot to mention that they were NOT replying to my emails for over a month (from Aug. 16th), but called me right away, after bad review was left. I do not appreciate this type of attitude, find it very unprofessional and don't want to hire them for my project - what I told them over the phone.

We hired SumZero to install a ductless mini split system and it was a great overall experience, David Sampaio helped quote and spec out the install and was great at coordinating the project. The team who installed everything completed the job in only a few hours: they were professional, fast, and cleaned up well. They even went above and beyond to help me check something unrelated to the install on the outside of my house. Very easy company to work with and we're very pleased with their work so far.
