I purchased a furnace check-up from SumZero for a price they advertised and when contacted, was told they do a check-up in 2 trips (which seemed strange).

When the guys came out, they said they don't do the furnace service on the first visit--and instead, just poked around-- eventually saying I needed to have a chunk of the return vent cut out and a new filter holder made--that would be right NEXT TO the original filter--for $5,000! The furnace is just 6 yrs old- -a top-of the line Platinum American Standard modulating/2-stage/etc furnace-- 95% efficiency, costing $14K-- and installed by one of Boston's oldest & most reputable Heating companies. It has worked like a top-- my bills are a third what they used to be, and I have it serviced yearly to keep it well maintained

The guy became insistent that I needed the new filter, but it didn't seem necessary to me, not for 5K at least. So they they poked around some more and found a damper indicator knob had fallen off a damper vent (it didn't operate anything- just showed if it was open or closed). When they left, they were clearly annoyed that I hadn't agreed to the alteration they'd suggested.

Then I didn't hear from anyone about scheduling the actual furnace servicing, so I wrote them several times.

Finally today I get an email from a girl who said my system was "not deemed viable for cleaning" because it "had installation errors" (??) and some "dampers were damaged" (a knob missing). She said the company "doesn't touch systems that have been installed incorrectly". And then suggested "What we can do is provide you with an estimate for a whole new system " !!!

Had whole house Mitsubishi heat pump installed. Paul was upfront and competitive with pricing. Installers were friendly and neat with the install. Looking forward to a nice cool summer.

The first word that comes to mind is OUTSTANDING when I think about SumZero. My husband and I just bought a home with a very old HVAC system and knew we needed an update. The first thing we did was speak with Sarai Ortiz who explained to us all of the steps we needed to take in order to see what system was best for us. She was very helpful and followed up with us throughout the entire process. Hearing that we needed a new system, David Sampaio promptly came to our house to give us a quote on what system he thought was best. My husband loved what he presented and did not hesitate to take the offer.

Since we did not have the expenses for the system at hand, Sarai walked us through getting a heat loan through Mass Save. This process was so easy and the loan was finalized within a week! We were so excited to get things rolling, but of course things were on hold due to the pandemic. Even though we had to wait a couple more weeks than anticipated, Sarai and David kept us in the know and answered every question that we had.

Once the time came to have the new system, SumZero was more than happy to make us a priority! The workers were on time, efficient, and very kind. Not once did I worry or question the quality of work they were doing. After two days, the work was complete! Daniel was able to walk me through what was installed and how to use the new thermostat, which we love! We now have a home that is comfortable to live in no matter the season.

Ilija and the crew from SumZero did an excellent job with a gas heater install for my garage. Their bid came is substantially lower than others, which made me concerned about the quality; I took the chance and I'm glad I did.

The bid was done very quickly and the project install took place 3-4 days later. It took about 1/2 day and was done flawlessly.

I'll be sure to use SumZero on any future HVAC projects I have.

Over-the-top outstanding communication with company throughout process. In this area, never seen anything like it from contractors. They mostly setup masssaves heat loan for me: as much as they can, and were patient, attentive as I waited on that process. They even encouraged it (if that’s what I wanted.) NO other company among 4 competitors did that. Do your homework, see pictures, you’ll see this co. does neat and tidy work, and their technical expertise seems to match that. I’m actually proud that we found and picked them, for my part. In the end, still work done by contractors, so important to know what people typically find wrong with type of work you’re having done, and keep an eye out for those things. The few small details I pointed out, sum zero guys were all over it, no pushback. And…they are ahead of the game in that area too: they have experience and have clearly learned from it. The could explain why they recommend what they recommend based on customer feedback. They are very cutting edge in AC tech., materials, smart home tech., communication with customer—customer service in general. Everyone was on the same page with that. As of May 2022, this is a company that seems to be in a good place doing good business. I prioritize capability over “nice gals/guys,” but worth mentioning that they have people skills. Especially young guy that assessed and did sales end—really bright. So, this is genuine, I feel like they went far enough to be worth my time writing a review. Recommended.

SumZero Energy Systems have been excellent in the last several months with supporting the replacement of my air conditioning system in my old condo as well as servicing my furnace. A price comparison with other local companies also prooved SumZero Energy Systems offered the best price. When I purchased a home a few months later, I called them to take a look at my air conditioning system and furnace because I felt as though they had provided such excellent service in the past. It was a no-brainer to ask for consultation regarding the heating and cooling systems in my new home! When I contacted them for assistance or consultation, they are usually quick to respond and provide appointment times had a very convenient window! They have shown up on time to all of the appointments I have had. David S. has always taken the time to explain everything thoroughly and answer all my questions. I highly recommend SumZero Energy Systems!

Our central air stopped working in the middle of the heatwave. With my elderly father living with me keeping the house cool was essential. Subzero responded quickly and was able to diagnose and fix our system on the spot. We were charged very fairly. Overall we were very happy with their courteous and professional work. Definitely recommend them!

I am extremely busy and I rarely (never) have the time to leave reviews but I believe you have to give credit where credit is due. Ilija and his team installed a heat pump and boiler at my home. Starting with the procurement of the equipment (due to my unique situation) it was not a straightforward job at all. But Ilija was very supportive throughout the whole process and help accommodate my needs. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the depth of knowledge that Ilija processes in his field. I enjoyed taking to him and exploring the different options that would best accommodate the needs of my home. The installation process was pretty smooth, there was extensive work that needed to be done. Sumzero initially allocated three days to do the job and it was done in two. The system is up and running and I couldn’t be happier with it. If you are seeking for great costumer service and impecable work look no further.

I have worked with David at SumZero at my home to install 2 Mitsubishi mini splits in two 1500 sq foot rooms. One winter and one summer so far and I've enjoyed the warmth in the winter and the cool in the summer with no other heat or ac source necessary. Expertly done and very professional. Highly recommend.
